Goldcar at Athens Airport

Pros: Best price I could get for a Jeep Cherokee.

Cons: Didn't get a Jeep. Got a crossover, which would have cost me £90 less with another provider. Car was an MG and a 1 lite engine. No power for a car of it's size. We were in a mountainous area of Greece and spent most of our drives in 3rd gear. Couldnt pass one vehicle in 9 days. Car was also scratched on every surface. The car was full to full fuel. When we picked up the car had 578 miles to empty. We filled up a couple of days later the car said 730 miles to empty. So it wasn't full at pick up

Cons: The condition report wasn’t filled in on pick up. Luckily I took photos of existing damage. So when questioned on return provided photos that it was pre existing.

Cons: The transfer from the airport was not very easy to find (time shedule, location was not clear).

Pros: The people were very nice, the car was new and better than expected. Process was smooth. Check in at the end was especially simple. The place is not at the airport but we knew that when booking and the shuttle was very easy to find and quick so no issue there.

Pros: Goldcar Athens Airport has an extremely friendly, professional, and trustworthy team.

Cons: Nothing to complain about. It is recommended to inspect the car before pick-up and take photos of anything relevant. This applies to any car rental company.

Pros: We have hired from them many times and the operatives are friendly and not hard sell for their insurance product.

Cons: The car was old, had high mileage and had more scratches and dents than we could number. They were unable to note on their system that we had prepaid for a co-driver so they had to charge our card and told us to claim it back as a refund when we returned the car.

Cons: Pressure selling. Trying to up sell insurance when cover had already been paid . Told this was between me and the broker and not them . Have previously done this with other rental companies no problem. Were trying to push larger car ( at extra cost ) onto another customer when we were in office. It was just pressure selling constantly. Would never use this company again .

Pros: Friendly people and willing to swap the car when we noticed there was a problem with the steering of the original car issued to us.

Cons: I had to pay 72 euro's for a full tank with no refund for what was left in the tank at the end of the rental period. There was 40 % of fuel left and no refund. The original contact stated full/full as is normal when renting a car. Why they has us pay a full tank with no possibility to get a refund when handing in the car with still fuel in the tank I so not understand.

Pros: Very freindly and helpfull personel both times I booked a car through Discovercars.com! I definetely recommend it (as I already did at least 10 times on my trip)!

Cons: There was a glitch with the car we had booked so we we took another car that had not been fully cleaned up and prepped. It was great for our needs though and turned out much better for us than the original as we appreciated the somewhat smaller size while driving on some narrow roads. We were actually blessed by the situation!

Cons: The car it was so clean and there were a lot of scratches all over the car and some minor bigger and deeper scratches from previous accidents.

Pros: The cheapest price we could find. The Toyota Corolla that we rented was driving experience was great and smooth.

Cons: There were many scratches on the outside of the car, which had us worried that we'll be fined for them. So though we were promised that they're aware of them all, we still took two long videos before & after our rental period. It's been a few days since we returned the car so we suppose that all was well on this regard. There was also a pretty big amount on the deposit, but this also makes sense enough. So all in all we were very pleased!

(not the blonde clerk who served me). dispute of employees over their internal labor issues. the car was hit and in a miserable condition from everywhere so much that you are obliged to insure so as not to be charged damages that existed, on the return.

Cons: After booking and "checking in" online, I discovered there was almost double the price to pay when I arrived. I was pressured to pay for extra insurance which shouldn't have been necessary after paying for "full coverage" online. When I returned the car, I was rushed into the airport bus without being given any kind of receipt. Overall service was rude and caused a lot of stress. Finally, I am still waiting to be reimbursed for a full tank of petrol, several days after having returned the car.

Cons: The hidden costs of a 19Euro admin fee and the agents pressuring us to buy more insurance to cover accident and breakdown with them when we had already paid this with discover car. They did not recognize our purchase already made by discover car to cover insurance on their car and were persistent in getting their insurance cover (which tripled the price of our original booking). They required us to accept we had to pay for any damages in the return of the car. Highly disappointing company.

Cons: We thought we would find the car at the airport, but there was a transfer. The people at the desk were unfriendly. A 1100 euro deposit was requested. They tried to sell extra insurance. 95 euro deposit was requested for the gas.

Cons: The fact that they do not take American Express. They cover my car insurance at no charge to me. I will never ever rent from them again because it costs me more.

Cons: *The car was smelly when we picked it up. *Higher cost was asked from us for the full coverage at the counter and since we had already planned our vacation there was not much we could do. *When we picked it up the employee told us we will get back 89 euros if we bring it back full and I was returned only 63. After I called they explained me that I had chosen the flex return option which I had not. How come they asked me about the rest of the options at the counter and not about this one?

Pros: Great service and quick to check in and check out. Was running late to the airport and decided to take me with a rental car to the terminal. Provided me with a car on the spot without a problem when my rental needed to be replaced.

In order to avoid misunderstandings you fill you have to pay additional coverage offered by the agent, making the whole deal much more expensive than others. The fact that you need a shuttle from the airport consumes time and patient. To sum up- NA: Never Again
