Key Go Rent at Alicante Airport

Cons: We've had a traumatic experience; we have booked many rental cars over the years throughout Spain and always had a positive experience. Used many different companies, tried “Key Go Rent” in Alicante. The pickup was ok but it took 1/2 for the transfer bus to collect us, the rest of collection was fine and the lady on the desk very polite and helpful (my wife is blind) so a little extra help goes a long way. On returning the car, I hoovered and washed the car as I always do with rentals, it took

Cons: They are running a scam. They told me my US credit card "wasn't working" to block the guarantee so I would instead be required to purchase full insurance -- which I didn't need. Magically, my card "worked" again when I used it to pay their mandatory extra charges. Total scam.

Pros: Very quick and no hard sell on insurance

Pros: I have used Key Go Rent many times but this time the car was poor and the agents were not friendly. They also seem to have added more rules like the poorer companies which is disappointing.

Cons: The electronic copy of the car condition report takes around d 15 minutes to appear in your In ox so you are tempted to drive away. That could be costly if all defects are not noted on the form.

Pros: Once I managed to get to the office it was a good experience.

Cons: The pick up was over 1 hr. Several calls with were cut off. I managed to get a local to call them then was quoted 15 mins. 30 mins later called again & eventually got thru. Automated system was crap. Another German couple also waiting were not happy either.

Cons: Pick up a little slow from airport . I missed the minus sign on the floor 2 at Alicante Airport , so wasted time going to floor + 2 . Printing minus rather than a very small - on the print wound be better . The office said the bus had just left , but people still waiting said this was not the case . The young lady was a little over zealous checking the car on return , she went to get her boss to confirm all ok . To be fair it was her second day so probably cautious.

Cons: Terrible. Staff were so rude at pick up and drop off. Were forced to pay circa £500 damages for a tiny scratch that was already on car at time of pickup, photos were taken to prove this. I will be contacting my credit card company to enforce refund. Absolutely shocking

Cons: We waited an hour for collection at Alicante airport. We weren’t the only people. Another family with a 2 month old baby were kept waiting in the heat! No apologies on collection either. We also ended up paying an additional insurance on collection. Even though we’d paid on booking. They blamed Discover.com.

Pros: I really liked Key Go aren’t, I was apprehensive about getting a car that wasn’t on the airport and they were fantastic and very close.

Cons: Failure to collect from the airport. Failure to answer the phone, an arrogant employee, and they tried to imply that we had caused damage but we had photographed the damage on collection.

Pros: Close to airport. Good pickup and quite efficient handover. Upgraded to new automatic at 2€ per day. They offer pay for tank of petrol but you get nothing back if not empty. They will also give you a card to nearest 24h petrol station if you ask which is 5 mins away for fill on return.

Cons: There were minor scratches, not recorded on the forms at pickup which I got logged. Despite full waiver cover, the agent seemed to want to undermine my confidence in that and buy theirs too.

Pros: Super friendly, spoke good English. Didn't pressure me into buying extras. Clear instructions

Cons: Bit of a wait for the shuttle bus

Cons: Their requirement for the car to be fuelled on return at a petrol station within 5km from the airport which meant using the petrol station in a town I did not know. I advised that I use the last petrol station on the N332 which is 8km away and accepted by all other car hire companies that I have used which was accepted as OK when picking up the car but was reluctantly accepted after some debate when I returned the car.

Pros: Ridiculous charge for minor scratches that were probably there before i picked up the car. Make sure you take lots of photos of the car when you pick up.

Cons: The information that you provided me (pick up location at Alicante is incorrect and has changed ) but this your issue not keygo. The first car had a flat tyre I found on my own check , this should have been picked up by keygo prior to me having the car and is a potentially dangerous issue .

I’ve rented several times from Keygo with no issues up until now. Sadly it looks like I’ll need to go elsewhere now

Cons: Very poor experience. We had to wait nearly an hour for the shuttle. Despite full insurance, hidden charges were added. The first car had a mechanical fault (oil pressure warning). Later, the manual lock malfunctioned, and they tried to hold us responsible—even though the same issue appeared with the replacement car. Documentation was delayed, and overall customer service was unhelpful and unfair.

We waited 95 minutes to be picked up because Discovery Cars stated we would be picked up at bus stops 1-5. we tried phoning Key Go Rent only to hear an automated message i. Spanish????? Eventually we went to bus stops 46. Key Go Rent told me they informed their agents ie Discovery Carrs that the bus stop had changed from bus stops 1-5 to bus stop 46 and it was Discovery Cars who failed to tell their customers who booked through them 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Cons: We were accused of causing a small scrape on the boot of the car but we had photographic evidence that this was the condition of the car when we picked it up. Exactly the same issue arose for the next couple dropping back their car. This was scam no 1. We filled up the tank but were called out because the filling station was 8.5 km away from Key Go instead of 5kmscam no 2

Cons: Had to pay 13 euros for a taxi to take us to car hire place as no pick up shuttle arrived and phoned them 3 times and was cut off every time it was answered. Assistant said she was at the stop but we stood for 40 minutes and she definitely never came to the collection point.

Pros: Staff great, I left my phone in the hire car and didn't realise till they had dropped us off at the airport. Rang the agents and explained my problem, they rushed back to the airport with my phone and I managed to board my flight on time

Pros: When we returned the car the KeyGoRent staff were quite friendly and took us to the Airport quickly which we appreciated.

Cons: Because we arrived 4 hours later than estimated to pick the car up (due to a combination of our flight time being changed by the airline and flight lateness) KeyGoRent had cancelled our booking, even though we had already pre-paid for it in full. We had to plead with them to give is the car which thankfully they did. It added unnecessary stress and seemed like a ploy to extract additional money from us.

Cons: Charges for damages whenever they can, even if you didn't cause it. Burden of proof is solely on the renter, and KeyGoRent has poor record keeping on existing damages

Pros: I hada slight crash and they just did a quick visual and a one page report. No hassle

Cons: Waited for 45 for collection and then took other passengers that had just walked to the front. We tried to explain but the other people had already put their cases in the back of the pick up vehicle. We had to wait another 20 mins for the vehicle to come back to us. We then had another hour wait in the key go rent office to collect the car. Our flight landed at 14.30 and we left the key go rent office at 17.00. Not enough staff on duty within the office however they were very helpful.

Cons: Lot of damage to the car which wasn’t on the contract when I picked up the car. Was told it would be on the email copy of the contract but wasn’t. When I returned the car the agent found a scratch which wasn’t on the contract but luckily I had taken photos and it was clearly visible in one of them. Comparing his booking with previous ones with KeyGo they did seem to examine returned cars in more detail than previously.

Cons: When I mentioned that I had insurance through the app and I didn't want to get insurance from Ky Go Rent, the agent showed total disinterest. I received the key and was sent to the parking lot to look for the car, I couldn't find it and I returned to the office. He came with us to find it in the parking lot after 5-6 minutes of walking among the cars we found it. He repeated 4-5 times that we would lose the warranty if there was a small scratch on the car, I had insurance purchased from you

Cons: No wind screen wipers fluid / water in a car. (yellow sign on the dashboard) - I had to refill myself. The windows were dirty from inside. (especially front one gave the foggy effect). Broken shelf in the trunk - made it difficult to pack up suitcases.

Cons: Upon arrival at the airport and to pick up the car I had to wait quite a long time for the transfer bus to be able to go to the rental company. Once arrived the lady at the counter was not very friendly and catty. I had taken out a full cover insurance which also includes roadside assistance. The employee tried to sell an extra insurance. In addition to the roadside assistance insurance she also tried to sell other unnecessary insurances.

Cons: They charged extra for breakdown cover. This seems to be a bit steep seeing as it is their car, should be well maintained & ultimately is their responsibility. I wouldn’t necessarily use this company again due to this as I feel it is just a way of getting more money. I will definitely be checking this with other companies in the future and will advise others to do the same.

Pros: Took an hour to wait in a queue and half an hour to sign rental agreement. They tried to sell additional insurance threatening with financial consequences if they notice any damage while the car itself had dents and bruises on almost every part! They had not provided damage record prior pick up so had to take photos myself to have evidences. It seems they never fix any damage but instead want every customer to pay for them many times... Did not received any contract as well.

Pros: Pick up and drop off quick, company representative spoke good English. Whilst I identified and photographed a lot of minor scratches, etc. on pick up they don’t appear to be concerned about minor damage as only made a quick inspection on return.

Cons: I had to pay additional mandatory insurance and higher rental fee at the pickup than confirmed in the booking. Even though I showed the voucher from Discover cars, with full insurance coverage, there was no option I get the car for the booking price. So as result, the final price I paid was significantly higher than confirmed via booking. Also I was pushed to pay the fuel charge in advance, with misleading information. Very disappointing.

Cons: there was only 1 representative, who had to leave to pick up new travellers after my check-in, which didn't give us enough time to check the car . representative sold us a full tank claiming it was cheaper than getting petrol outside. this turned out not to be true. the late pickup price of 40 Euros is overly expensive given the fact that we are talking about a pickup 30 min after the official business hours closure. I wouldn't recommend to use this hire place .

Cons: Their process of reviewing existing car damages is flawed, seemingly intentionally, so that they can charge people for damages done not by them. We received the car full of existing body damages at dark parking lot at 9pm. I did not see an existing damage at the Bottom of the car. The car was parked at my airbnb the whole time and I only drove it on hwy. No way I caused that damage, but they charged me 180 euros. Scammers!

Cons: I waited over an hour to be collected from the airport and had to phone to get picked up. Then waited a further significant amount of time following arrival at the office. The car smelt strongly of smoke. On return of the car, I was told I had to provide receipt of fuel to prove I used the nearest petrol station to fill up (even though the dash clearly recorded full tank to full tank). Staff were rude. 5 days later I am still yet to receive my deposit return. Avoid and use another company!

Cons: This company clearly does not like customers from "discovercars" i felt an attitude towards me from the moment they saw i rent from your company. The full cover insurance I had to talk to the lady because the didn't add it (when i already paid for it on the discovercars website)... It was also a nightmare to ask for a late return of the car, it was a huge problem because i rented on discovercars. I strongly recommend to drop this company from your website.

Cons: When I booked the car I just put my name in as it didn’t ask me to provide drivers licence number I assumed that we would just bring the licence of the main drive. When we arrived we was told we had to take out an extra insurance which cost quite a lot more to have my husband as the main driver. Cons: Almost everything, adding money to the agreed amount and then claiming the car was scratched, I returned to tell them the car was dirty and had some scratches on collection of the car but the staff member refused to come out and look and said it’s ok it’s just ware and tear extremely dissatisfied as I declined everything they tried selling me and can’t get an explanation as to what the added charges are for.

They insisted we buy insurance via Key Go Rent and gave us two options. We had to pay so that we could get the car. We subsequently wrote to them with Discover Cars insurance contract requesting a refund. They refused. Ultimately we were forced to pay an extra approx £350. Discover Cars should not use KGR

Pros: Na aankomst op het vliegveld Alicante stond het busje al klaar. Ik kon gelijk instappen en was binnen 3 minuten op de locatie. Gelijk geholpen door een vriendelijke medewerkster. Geen gezeur over een extra verzekering, want die had ik bij het boeken al geregeld. Ook het terugbrengen van de auto ging vlot en ik werd gelijk met het busje naar het vliegveld gereden. Echt TOP alles!

Cons: SEE PREVIOUS COMMENT. AOOARENTLY THEY HAD ONLY ONE CAR WITH SATNAV AND IT WAS FAULTY. UTTER RUBBISH. STAFF WERE VERY RUDE

Pros: The agent was polite and throughout the process, despite it being her 1st day.

Cons: The manager was unhelpful and rude about the vehicle presented, which was not as ordered. She was quite difficult. Eventually, she came around. There was also a long wait to get the vehicle.

Cons: I know it’s called Key Go but that is literally what you get. They give you the key and you have to go and find the car in the car park. Would prefer to be taken to the car and shown various features etc. Also the drop off place we found by pure chance as the address did not show on our satnav.

Pros: The hire car supplier Key Go Rent Alicante were fantastic, the pickup and drop off service worked great. The car was almost new and in great condition and a pleasure to drive. The paperwork side was explained clearly and a couple of questions I had were answered to my satisfaction.

Cons: The only downside I can see is if you have a very early flight the car can be returned before the office opens to another company nearby who will also take you to the airport. This however costs an extra €40.

Cons: Two points, firstly my car was very dirty and had not been washed. Secondly, even though they advised me to take pictures, which we did, they did challenge a scratch on the wheel hub which was already there - we showed our photos and they accepted this evidence - admitting they will update their own records.

Though we tool out full insurance with Discover cars in advance Key Go Rent would not honour that contract as they said this contract was with Discover cars rather than themselves, therefore additional €200 require for full cover. Also as we were early collecting the car the booked car Audi A1 or similar was "not available" at that time. Got Skoda Kamiq instead and yes of course €60 extra on this. Discover Cars need to reimburse us for the additional insurance.

Cons: Car selection was Citroen C3 or similar, I was allocated a Peugeot 208, noticeably smaller interior for my size. There were no alternatives

Cons: I had to pay extra 140 euro for full option assurance. And I payed it already. The choice was paying 140 euro or block 1100 euro on the vasa card. They didn't notice that I payed already for full option assurance.

Cons: Due to company policy and having not booked directly with them, I was not able to extend the car hire for an extra day by phone during the rental & had to return the car to the office (130 Km round trip) and re-book. It was an annoying waste of time and fuel expense. Staff were apologetic & understanding of the problem though.

Total rip off and taking advantage. Cost significantly more than the car!! I still have not received my fuel deposit of 80 euros back into my account

Cons: all really good but put in address on retrun went into main town, then used second address and found area, although not that hard as only minutes apart.

Office was modern and comfortable but they also had area to sit outside, cooled by misting water which was comfortable and refreshing.

When we got to the rental office the agent that drove then helped checking in new rentals whilst some people were waiting to go back to the airport. I will say that this didn't affect us and all the agents were friendly and helpful. I would definitely use them again.
