Cons: I have just received my credit card statement, and on 23rd July, just after I dropped the vehicle off, I have found that they have charged me €41.77, and I have no idea what for. The car was returned full of fuel, photos taken. Could you advise please ?

Pros: Staff were courteous and helpful. I travel to Alicante frequently and Thrifty are often my choice for car rental.

Cons: The car was supposed to be an SUV but was an estate. The car had a lot of damage. Some of the damage was not recorded on the pick up. At drop off the agent then tried to blame us for the damage. Luckily I had photos to prove that the damage was there at pickup and not caused by us.

Cons: Drop off lady was a jobs worth. Told us off for not parking closer to office - even though we were in a thrifty bay - and for not filling car up on our way to airport. We’d filled up on the Monday and not used the car Tuesday but she wasn’t happy ‘what if you did 60kms on Tuesday ’ - even though we’d told her we hadn’t used the car. And it’s not as though the petrol gauge & fuel range indicator on the car doesn’t tell you if it’s full! She spoilt what was otherwise a fantastic experience

Pros: The pick-up process was smooth, and returning the car was just as effortless—simply follow the car hire return signs at the airport! The cost of hire was very competitive, making it excellent value for money. I highly recommend Thrifty and would definitely use their service again in the future!

Cons: Rude staff who treated me like some kind of village idiot as I had not bought my insurance through them. Tried the upsell to automatic but then when that did not work they treated me like a fool. Had to refuel within 10km of airport AND provide receipt. Car had a tyre pressure leak on drivers side rear tyre - needed reinflating (at my cost) every other day. Other tyres were overinflated and potentially lethal.

Cons: In total I paid over £400 when the displayed price at time of booking was £132. I expected some extra charges because that is the way of things these days but the actual price should be clearly visible at the time of purchase

Also, the economy car I got (Dacia) was nowhere near as good as the compact car my son got

Pros: Have used firefly many times at alicante airport and staff have always been helpfull. On this trip my flight was delayed till after 1.00am (there closing time) after a phone call a helpful member of staff waited for my flight to arrive nearly 2.00am. Cars are always in good condition and a clean.

Cons: had a bit of anxiety about office being closed when we arrived at sat lunchtime as our flight was delayed and it said we had to be there by 2pm... but luckily office was open :-) We booked through booking agent discover cars. There were lots of warnings about office closing times (some parts said 1pm some said 2pm) and in the end the office was still open as were leaving after 2pm. Also its an early closing time anyway.

The collection officer tried to upsell me multiple extras, including full coverage and insurance which I had already bought during booking. The agent initially noted 4 noticeable defects on the car, I video recorded 27+ defects If I had not done so, the company would have blamed me for all damages and withheld my £1000 deposit (which I am still waiting on my refund )
