Drivalia at Alicante Airport

Pros: Nothing. Worst company I've rented from in my 20 years of renting cars.

Cons: Everything. Rude person at the desk, gave me a very bad car half broken with 12 scratches. Ripped me off 430 euro when the car broke down. Told me "If you don't pay the 430 euro you will not get a replacement car".

Pros: Good price. Efficient pick-up (helped by the fact I've used them lots). The usual insurance upsell is there but overly aggressive.

Cons: They've started using cheap Chinese cars that just aren't up to the job. Couldn't get through to the roadside assist line. (Good thing I didn't pay the €30 to cover the potential cost having to use this)

Cons: Stickers all over the car highlighting that you are a vulnerable tourist to any interested criminal. Car had warning lights displayed for tyres( checked and adjusted but still displayed), and oil change due.

Cons: One agent at Alicante tried to make me pay for a tiny chip the size of apple pip when they say only over 1cm is chargeable. Plus I didn’t do it! But another said I shouldn’t be charged so I wasn’t. But they argued!!

Pros: Quick service but we arrived early and after a bit of huffing and puffing regarding this our car was there waiting for us. The car was showing its age and had some bumper damage.

I hate the absolutel dishonesty that is often found at car hire places; a shame that Drivalie, previously honest, is using these tactics. I have insurance and can claim for the 200 euros they will charge me.

Cons: They gave me a car which I did not think was road worthy. It had a lot of damage on it and I felt pressurised to change the car for a more expensive one. The keys did not work and there was a rattling noise when driving. On return they insisted that I had caused further damage to the car even though the scratches on the car were already listed. I don’t think you should offer their cars on your platform.

Pros: The pickup process was quick and friendly, and the staff were very welcoming, I was left with only positive impressions. The car did have some scratches and dents, and although I made sure to document everything with photos and videos before driving off, the return process was smooth and hassle-free. They did a brief inspection, checked that the tank was full, and that was it. I can definitely recommend Drivalia (Alicante)!

Cons: The car collection was horrendous. Over 2.5hours to collect my car and the car I booked had a damaged tyre so they then gave my hybrid jeep that I didn’t want and charged me a second deposit on my credit card. The car cost me a lot of money to run as it wasn’t very economic. I paid way above my budget due to this. They should’ve just changed the tyre and given me the car I booked. Also they push hard to sell their full coverage when I already had full coverage via discover cars.

Cons: The desk agent scammed us into having to take their rental insurance when they were told we ready had insurance through our credit card. The agent became belligerent and tried to extort a debit transaction. It was the rudest, most unpleasant customer service experience we have EVER had!

Pros: There wasn't much service. Made to stand around for nearly an hour while they decided which car I was taking. Then had to wait another 25-30 minutes for them to walk around their yard to actually find it for me. We took a photo of damage to the car that wasn't listed on their paperwork but when we returned the car they said the photo didn't match the damage. It was a small stone chip no bigger than a ball point pen tip to the rear bumper. They tried telling me I'd "crashed" the car. €240.

And to make it worse, immediately charge your card! I had very clear proof the very obvious damage was pre existing, but already had been charged over £1100. They eventually admitted the damage was preexisting and made a PARTIAL refund, blaming the exchange rate so I am still out of pocket!!! They have now gone silent.

They also told us to walk to the airport after dropping the car off instead of using their shuttle. During the inspection they tried to say we had to pay for a tiny scratch that was previously on the car. Beware! Cons: The spanish man called "John" at the Alicante airport desk was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Despite buying insurance from discover cars pre trip he forced us to pay over 200 euros for extra insurance on the car which should have been optional and lied telling is this was law in Spain (we checked with our spanish family member who assured us it wasnt). We were already covered but he intimidated us into paying for more and shouted in the face of my eldery grandparent's. Terrible service.

Pros: The shuttle arrived soon after I reached the ouck up point. It was clearly marked up and a new minibus in good condition. The journey to the office area and car compound was less than a kilometer and 5 minutes in duration. The compound looks newly constructed with a smart office/reception area and the cars are parked in rows on well tarmacadamed parking area. The car was a new Fiat 500 Hybrid with just over 600kms on the clock. It served it's purpose and got me to my destination.

Cons: The basic book in process was done quickly and the inline rebooking helped but then came the hard sell to top up the basic insurance cover. Sadly rather than point out that I had not taken up the option when I initially booking and asking me if I wanted to upgrade to which I would reply that I had cover elsewhere and, at this point, the better car rental places like Wiber accept it and move on. U fortunately Drivalia did not, they went through the whole hard sell just like the awful Goldcar firm

After bad mouthing discover cars, he then fleeced another €90s from me by not allowing me to use two separate credit cards, one for the lease and another for the holding charge. The agent rudely told me to cancel the hire if I didn't like it. Just looking for ways to scam. If I was on my own I would have wrapped my knuckles around his head.

It was first time that I have to leave deposit for the fuel tank (it was also not full actually)

Cons: I noticed a scratch that was not mentioned in the contract, and I went to tell the customer service about this. The customer service agent arrogantly laughed that it was a scratch on top of the paint, so it doesn't count. We photographed the scratch with several phone cameras and took a video of the scratch before using the vehicle. The recordings have a time stamp as proof that they are 28.6.2023 at 20:00. After returning the car, Drivalia charges me €345 for the scratch.
