Centauro at Alicante Airport

Pros: The location in the airport terminal.

Cons: The vehicle provided was a number of years old, had very high mileage (72000km), and was in very poor condition cosmetically. Also, the agent was clearly unhappy when I politely declined the offer of additional insurance, and almost threw the keys across the counter. I felt that it was extremely unprofessional.

Pros: The car was supplied by Centauro at Alicante Airport. A great service provided by them. Good car and quick and easy pick up and drop off.

Cons: Agent was arogant and unhelpful, only interested in selling thgei own insurance product and making all kind of threats when I refused it. I did not receive the car I booked. The car I received was scratched and dented all around, the rear window wiper was missing, there was no washer fluid for the windscreen in the car and there was a bad odour inside the car.

Pros: I paid for the extra premium cover in the UK (so, assuming I was completely covered for everything). Centauro dismissed this fact an insisted I pay a further premium rate on arrival. The agent was aggressive, rude and disrespectful towards me and my partner. He claimed he had never heard of Discovercars - insisting we pay their premium rate or we would not get the keys.

Cons: Disgusting rede behavior - bullying and forcing customers to pay premium rate for cover. We asked for the agents name and he refused to provide details and covered hi ID badge. He was confrontational. We paid in the UK for full-cover, only to find this was disregarded on arrival. Discovercars did not exist in Centauro opinion. We feel scammed and ripped off. Someone is not being honest???

This made me anxious, as I was concerned Centauro might wrongly assume I caused the damage and charge me for it.

Cons: Had a 40 minute wait to be seen at the counter at pickup. The agent became quite moody when I would not pay for extra insurance as I had already had my own excess insurance. He insisted that I would lose my deposit and that they will not provide me any documentation to enable me to claim it back from my own insurance policy. I'm quite used to the hard sell at the pickup desk but this type of threatening behavior is quite annoying.

Cons: I rent/reserved a Nissan Juke class car. I got a Jeep with major damages. Went back and asked for another car. After a lot discussion got recommanded to upgrade my rental car to a bigger and more comfortable (Hyundai Tucsan) car by just paying 6€ more. I accepted and got keys to a small MB A-class, which was not clean at all. A feeling of intended manipulation to pay more and get less :(

Not had this with any other hiring company. The charge was refunded when I returned the car with full fuel, although in my case they refunded me £6 less for some reason.

Pros: Quick and efficient pick up and return. The car was very clean and a pleasure to drive.

Cons: Trying to enforce you buy their excess protection insurance which was extortionately priced. Didn't listen when I said I had a policy already and tried to say that it wasn't as good and this is the only way to be properly covered

Cons: The booking of the car I was not advised of certain costs which probably would have swayed my decision in booking a car in the first place. I only booked the car as was cheaper than taxi but after all the added costs this did not work out as planned. The car after one day also would not start considering it was brand new. I thought trouble shooting such as shutting the door putting your seatbelt on and making sure all the windows were shut was not really a great trouble shooting process
