From this I expressed my concerns as I felt uneasy leaving someone to check it whilst I was not there, I assured everything was ok. On given this information I took a video of the condition of the car before we left.

Cons: Drop off receptionist (poor attitude, unhelpful and dismissive). They took the £875 excess deposit off my credit card resulting in £30 worth of fees from my bank. They refused to inspect car on drop off so no way to know if they’ll refund my deposit as they could now state something was wrong with the car after I left. They took money off for fuel despite me returning it with more fuel than I got it with (had 680km of fuel at pick up, and dropped off with 720km worth). I’m now stressed about it.

I was even told off for parking the returned car in apparently the incorrect place, however as I pointed out, no one let me know when I picked it up where to return it. There was no acknowledgement when you arrive, either time, and when served it felt you are putting them out. Perhaps they are under staffed, but not a great start to first time visit to Spain.

Lights flashing, rear indicator broken, front windscreen wipers broken - on day 7 of car hire I took back and requested an exchange and luckily they did and the agent was shocked at the condition of the car and the fact I had proof this was known about on day 1 on collection, with recordings of staff telling us the car was okay to take on Spanish roads - with no working rear indicators and no working front wipers!

Three weeks later and still no sign of the refund.

Upon collection, the inspection carried out by the rental company’s employee lasted no more than 15 seconds and took place in complete darkness, after 11 PM. I had to return to their office twice just to have them mark significant damage on the rims and bumper on the pick-up report. Upon returning the vehicle, I was charged for a minor scratch approximately 1 cm long—damage that most likely was already there when I picked up the car.

When we returned the car on a Saturday, noone would check the car with us and said the only staff qualified to check work Mon-Fri. Surprise, surprise, an extra £25 for a tiny bit of dirt on the seat that I'd have washed in seconds had I been present when the car was checked. I'd avoid if you can. Clutch was also very sticky.

The younger guy (I will refer to as Shaggy from Scooby Doo) took no interest at all in us renting the vehicle. It was like he was doing us a favour. After passing us the keys to the car we discovered the car keys did not work on the car. I had to wait for ages then to get the other guy to help us and get a replacement. After another 40 mins we got a replacement car. No customer service!

Pros: El agente me dio un contrato diferente al ordenado y confirmado. Contrariamente al acuerdo contractual, tuve 1000 km gratis durante el período de alquiler y sin franquicia. Viktoria cambió el contrato a 200 km por día gratis, lo que da como resultado 800 km por 4 días de alquiler. La franquicia en caso de daños se fijó en 100 euros.

Pros: Car was good to drive and an automatic as requested. Good size for two adults plus luggage. It was economic with impressive fuel consumption. Well equipped and with efficient functional controls .

Cons: The car had some minor damage eg small dents, scratched alloys, marks on seats when we picked it up . A surprise considering the price. Detailed directions for the return to the off airport office would have been useful. An up to date road map also.

We paid full to full but they charge you €90 for the tank of fuel we filled the car back up at the cost of €56 they refunded 3 days later
