Pros: We had the pleasure of driving a brand new car which was absolutely lovely.

Cons: Was not able to use the car due to crazy policy not letting me use 2 Mastercards for car booking. Had to first wait 2,5 hours and then got a very aggressive agent who did not want to help us on our honeymoon. We ended up going to Avis next door and booking our car there (where people were behaving normallly). Terrible company. Terrible service

Cons: I had to pay an additional €25.14 at the desk instead of the €5.75 advised by DiscoverCars: - €6.36 for a premium office fee - €2.07 for an environmental contribution - €12.36 for a smart return The agent at the desk strongly urged me to buy additional insurance, insisting that the deposit would be over €3,000 without it (instead of €1,400). I admit this may have been a small misunderstanding, as in the end, I deposited €1,400, exactly as expected.

They scared me into almost taking out more Insurance they didn’t say I had to bring back full or show how to use or for any new one new to rentals it would put them off. So I now have a charge of €62 euros of petrol for probably 3litres of full as it was filled by there is a €50 fee just for filling. Never again

Took at least 20 minutes to work out that we needed to queue for a ticket, which would then allow us to eventually see a rep. The rep tried a hard upsell into the fully comp insurance which I made it very clear I didn't want but she still persisted with well-practiced lines to persuade people to buy it. Following this, I didn't even get a key, I had to queue again at the car park to collect this. Took 2 hours to collect.

Cons: Goldcar charged me £110 saying insurance is done via a third party and not directly with them. They needed non refundable admin fee of £110 to deal with the insurance company in the event of any damage to the car. What a rip off.

Pros: The car was ok, but first they tried to force a different car (BIG one, even though I ordered the smallest one!). You could think of it as an upgrade, but it's quite difficult and inconvenient to navigate the narrow streets in Mallorca with such BIG car. First I was supposed to get a different (smaller) car, but when I did not agree to pay additional insurance, they changed it for bigger one (so I dare to say it was done on purpose, so I scratch it more easily!).

Cons: Gold Car tried to push for their full insurance in a very unpleasant way - they don't even inform this is optional, they used the phrase: there is 200 euros left to pay at the desk, even though everything was paid UPFRONT!!! This is simply dishonest! It's ok to suggest insurance, but it's not ok to force it in such a way. When I refused to pay (I had full cover from Discover Cars) they became unpleasant and started to threaten me, saying the my insurance won't work.

I think I was basically scammed by the combination of both Discover Cars and Goldcar, with both parties charging for full cover insurance. Would discourage anyone from using this combination.

Cons: We ended up paying significantly more than the quote. We booked using Amex credit, then discovered it would not be accepted for the booking. We were then unable to change the name of the main driver in order to use somebody else's card (who had a mastercard) - only offered to cancel and rebook under there name which would inflate the price significantly. As a result we had to use a debit card, which forced us to take out insurance with them alongside taking a deposit - costing us 4x more.

This was the third Goldcar I had rented in the last 2 weeks, and for some reason it too forever for every person in the queue to be dealt with. If the team were having issues it would have been very helpful to have let the queueing customers know this up front, rather than a lack of information that was passed over. I also didn't like the handover; I handed over the keys and was told the checkin would happen later that day.

Cons: Felt pressured to take out their excess insurance even though I explained I had my own personal excess policy. My approximate £90.00 booking turned into £90.00 initial car hir fee, + 150 euros excess insurance + 182 Euros for fuel, total 452euros for 5 days hire - 182 euros if the car was returned with a full tank which it was. The desk agent was also unaware that a UK full paper license is valid in Spain when accompanied with separate photo ID (Passport) and a valid license summary.

Cons: My Discovercars voucher was not accepted, instead I was bullied into accepting Goldcar's terms so that I could get a car. The terms included Full to Full but I've yet to receive my deposit even though I returned the car full of petrol. I'm uploading 2 photos of relevant documents.

Pros: Ana was exceptionally friendly and helpful and showed us her favourite places to visit on the island. There were lots of available staff behind the desk so we didn’t have to wait.

Cons: There was some confusion about extra insurance coverage when I arrived at the desk to check in and I was informed I didn't have it - even though I had purchased it and it was clearly listed on the voucher. I was asked to pay an additional 110 euros on top of the rental fee and coverage that I had already paid for. In the end, I did not take this up but was left feeling very nervous about what I would be covered for

Pros: We cancelled goldcar rental as they tried to make us take their insurance but I already had insurance. They said it was private!! Also said website that I booked through was a fraud. Discover cars is not a real website according to Goldcar. Their treatment was utterly deplorable. The manager was rude and I will never book Goldcar again. We want to Europecar and rented easily and they accepted our private insurance policy.

I did not want to pay for this, I had taken out extra cover in the UK, but the agent would not allow the car hire to proceed without me paying for the Super Relax. It meant my car hire cost was far higher than originally booked.

Cons: The admin and key pick up in Mallorca being so far away from one another, signage not great between the 2 and you have to queue twice. The car was pretty pranged.

I bought Excess insurance and was willing to pay initial deposit of €1300 but desk said they will charge 18% deduction when they return the deposit... rip off, unethical company. Cons: We were told that their bank would charge us 15% on our deposit of €1150 as they would hold it for more than 30 days in line with new legislation relating to non Euro credit cards. They said it was cheaper to take their full insurance cover at €125 (approx). We have our own annual coverage for car rentals overseas so did not need this but took it as the cheaper option Please look in to this and ask Gold Car for a refund if this legislation does not exist.

Pros: I have rented a car from goldcar nine times in the last three months. Of these, I was able to give eight reviews with the best scores because everything worked smoothly, the cars were in good condition and the employees in terminal and pick up area in the parkhouse were friendly and courteous.

Cons: Unfortunately this time I had to deal with an employee in the terminal who wasn't that friendly and I didn't get the car that I rented. It wasn't pleasant to travel with, but that can happen. As long as 8 out of 9 rentals were good, that's ok.

Pros: I had a terrible service with a company Goldcar. I was not given a car for the price I had on my voucher!!!!!! I paid 236.69 ( instead of 122 euros) euros for the hire. This is 2 times more than what was stated in the voucher. The employee of the company said that the insurance for which they are not suitable + I had to as a deposit to freeze for 33 days!!!! 1600 euros. I have not encountered this situation before. In addition I paid a fuel deposit of 166 euros !!!!

Cons: I want to clarify Discover insurance covers all expenses if I pay for full Cover? Why didn't the Goldcar manager give me a car at the price indicated on my voucher????? When will the fuel deposit money be returned? I turned in my car with a full tank of gas. Please write all my complains!!!

Cons: There are lots of negative reviews out there, I should have heeded the warnings. There was a large deposit taken. I challenged it and was told it was for fuel and be sure to bring it back full to the brim. After waiting 40 minutes in the queue I was just glad to get away. When I got home the fuel deposit was returned but not what was charged. When I looked into it they had sold me a £92 additional insurance that I didn't need and certainly didn't ask for. Never again! Discover cars didn't help.

It was intimidating and exhausting. When dropping the car off, I was told I could leave the keys to catch my flight and was not needed for the inspection. I was then greeted with a hefty bill for a scratch on the car (of which there were many) I did not do and they could not provide any evidence. It ruined the end of my trip.
