I finaly had to call the help desk of discovercar to find a solution. I also had to pay 166 for the fuel. They told me that I will get this amount back if I give back the car with the tank full. Will this happen? I hope so. They told me that I will receive a mail with the Check out. I don’t get it.

Pros: I had a terrible service with a company Goldcar. I was not given a car for the price I had on my voucher!!!!!! I paid 236.69 ( instead of 122 euros) euros for the hire. This is 2 times more than what was stated in the voucher. The employee of the company said that the insurance for which they are not suitable + I had to as a deposit to freeze for 33 days!!!! 1600 euros. I have not encountered this situation before. In addition I paid a fuel deposit of 166 euros !!!!
Cons: I want to clarify Discover insurance covers all expenses if I pay for full Cover? Why didn't the Goldcar manager give me a car at the price indicated on my voucher????? When will the fuel deposit money be returned? I turned in my car with a full tank of gas. Please write all my complains!!!
Pros: Little nightmare to collect car, had to wait around 40min, got to the key collect point to be told tgat car is not here and agent had no idea when it will arrive. Shortage of baby car seats were evidential. Car received wasn't fully refuelled

Cons: There are lots of negative reviews out there, I should have heeded the warnings. There was a large deposit taken. I challenged it and was told it was for fuel and be sure to bring it back full to the brim. After waiting 40 minutes in the queue I was just glad to get away. When I got home the fuel deposit was returned but not what was charged. When I looked into it they had sold me a £92 additional insurance that I didn't need and certainly didn't ask for. Never again! Discover cars didn't help.

It transpired later on looking further that this was actually the full excess cover which we already purchased with Discover. It was also the first time hiring a car abroad that the price quoted excluded the 21% sales tax. Instead of paying EUR 89 at the airport we ended up paying EUR 205. Won't be using Gold car

Cons: Scaremongering tactics were used at the desk to try and get me to buy their insurance, by them claiming my Discover Cars coverage would not apply if I were in an accident. It was intimidating and exhausting. When dropping the car off, I was told I could leave the keys to catch my flight and was not needed for the inspection. I was then greeted with a hefty bill for a scratch on the car (of which there were many) I did not do and they could not provide any evidence. It ruined the end of my trip.

Cons: The pick up process and staff working are probably some of the worst I've every experienced renting a car from any company. Please never rent from Goldcar and save yourself 2 hours of your time when picking up a car. I paid an additional 200 Euro after picking up the car because I didn't want to waste more time with them about insurance already paid to DiscoverCars and an automatic transmission which I thought I booked initially.

Credit card was declined three times without any reason at all. You then spend all your holiday worrying if your going to get that money back or if they try saying oh this is damaged thats damaged. The pick up was about 1 and half hours due to the lack of staff on the desk. You get a ticket to be seen its that chaotic.

Overall I had to pay around 500 Eur on the spot when collecting the car!?! They did refund me 148 Eur for the fuel at the end since this was deposit they required me to give. Dropping off the car was a nightmare, I had to drive 4x around the airport just to be able to finally get to the Goldcar parking for drop off. I will never use Goldcar again.
Cons: Bohužel se nám to nelíbilo, protože jsme zaplatili dvakrát více než jsme měli. Pojištění jsme měli zaplaceny předem a donutili nás ho zaplatit i po druhé. Poté, co jsme dostali auto, tak auto bylo asi dříve vykradeno a při jízdě dveře bouchali a bylo to nepříjemné. A k tomu, že jsme měli objednané VW polo a namísto něho jsme dostali opel Corsa, tak to se raději nebudu vyjadřovat. Už nikdy tuhle společnost nevyužijem.

We had only paid a small deposit and by the time we checked in the agent informed us she could get us a better price which included the full insurance and fuel deposit for cheaper than our original price - this was great and really helpful!

I had read online about the large deposits required - this is only the case if you do not take out the full insurance with goldcar. The drop off car park spaces at Palma Airport weren’t enough for the number of cars returning so it took a while to find a space.

Also the forgot to mention how we should do when returning the car (but we called and got help with that so no big issue on that note).

Long story short they charged me for the scratch on the mirror which was there when I collected the car. Thief's. Never use this company. My video proof was not in any interest to them.

He said there were unavoidable taxes and fees so the price he was offering was the cheapest. Very cheeky. I went online and booked the car and spoke to a different agent. The final price was €130 for the week. Secondly I had booked and used a car seat for my 18m old but the seats were unsuitable for her.
