Goldcar at Palma de Mallorca Airport

Cons: I was forced by the agent at the airport to take out Super Relax cover. I did not want to pay for this, I had taken out extra cover in the UK, but the agent would not allow the car hire to proceed without me paying for the Super Relax. It meant my car hire cost was far higher than originally booked.

Cons: The admin and key pick up in Mallorca being so far away from one another, signage not great between the 2 and you have to queue twice. The car was pretty pranged.

Pros: Upgraded car but I ended up paying g for this.

Pros: Gold car asked for 18% deduction from €1300 deposit if we don't buy their full insurance... I bought Excess insurance and was willing to pay initial deposit of €1300 but desk said they will charge 18% deduction when they return the deposit... rip off, unethical company. Avoid Gold Car like a plague.

Cons: 18% deduction from deposit is not written anywhere on their website, nor it was made clear on Discover cars. Paid for car rental but didn't get the car... not good at all.. I would have happily paid that money to begger than these croocks.

Cons: We were told that their bank would charge us 15% on our deposit of €1150 as they would hold it for more than 30 days in line with new legislation relating to non Euro credit cards. They said it was cheaper to take their full insurance cover at €125 (approx). We have our own annual coverage for car rentals overseas so did not need this but took it as the cheaper option Please look in to this and ask Gold Car for a refund if this legislation does not exist.

Pros: I have rented a car from goldcar nine times in the last three months. Of these, I was able to give eight reviews with the best scores because everything worked smoothly, the cars were in good condition and the employees in terminal and pick up area in the parkhouse were friendly and courteous.

Cons: Unfortunately this time I had to deal with an employee in the terminal who wasn't that friendly and I didn't get the car that I rented. It wasn't pleasant to travel with, but that can happen. As long as 8 out of 9 rentals were good, that's ok.

Pros: I had a terrible service with a company Goldcar. I was not given a car for the price I had on my voucher!!!!!! I paid 236.69 ( instead of 122 euros) euros for the hire. This is 2 times more than what was stated in the voucher. The employee of the company said that the insurance for which they are not suitable + I had to as a deposit to freeze for 33 days!!!! 1600 euros. I have not encountered this situation before. In addition I paid a fuel deposit of 166 euros !!!!

Cons: There are lots of negative reviews out there, I should have heeded the warnings. There was a large deposit taken. I challenged it and was told it was for fuel and be sure to bring it back full to the brim. After waiting 40 minutes in the queue I was just glad to get away. When I got home the fuel deposit was returned but not what was charged. When I looked into it they had sold me a £92 additional insurance that I didn't need and certainly didn't ask for. Never again! Discover cars didn't help.

It transpired later on looking further that this was actually the full excess cover which we already purchased with Discover. It was also the first time hiring a car abroad that the price quoted excluded the 21% sales tax. Instead of paying EUR 89 at the airport we ended up paying EUR 205. Won't be using Gold car

It was intimidating and exhausting. When dropping the car off, I was told I could leave the keys to catch my flight and was not needed for the inspection. I was then greeted with a hefty bill for a scratch on the car (of which there were many) I did not do and they could not provide any evidence. It ruined the end of my trip.

Please never rent from Goldcar and save yourself 2 hours of your time when picking up a car. I paid an additional 200 Euro after picking up the car because I didn't want to waste more time with them about insurance already paid to DiscoverCars and an automatic transmission which I thought I booked initially.

Dropping off the car was a nightmare, I had to drive 4x around the airport just to be able to finally get to the Goldcar parking for drop off. I will never use Goldcar again.

Poté, co jsme dostali auto, tak auto bylo asi dříve vykradeno a při jízdě dveře bouchali a bylo to nepříjemné. A k tomu, že jsme měli objednané VW polo a namísto něho jsme dostali opel Corsa, tak to se raději nebudu vyjadřovat. Už nikdy tuhle společnost nevyužijem.

Pros: Our flight was delayed arriving, but the desk was still open past closing time stated on the website. We had only paid a small deposit and by the time we checked in the agent informed us she could get us a better price which included the full insurance and fuel deposit for cheaper than our original price - this was great and really helpful!

I had read online about the large deposits required - this is only the case if you do not take out the full insurance with goldcar. The drop off car park spaces at Palma Airport weren’t enough for the number of cars returning so it took a while to find a space.
