Alamo, or Alamo Rent a Car, is an American car rental company serving Palma Airport in Mallorca, Balearic Islands. The company’s office is inside the airport terminal. It offers a small number of high quality compact, minivan, intermediate, and other type of vehicles. Alamo operates a full-to-full fuel policy.
Pick-up instructions
Car Rental currently located at the Car Rental Center at Palma de Mallorca Airport. Rental counters are located on the arrival’s hall. Please note that effective November 1st we will be located off site. We provide a courtesy shuttle that brings you to our Rental Centre. On arrival, please exit the terminal and head towards the direction of the Airport Parking Building, located opposite to the terminal. After passing the taxi area, turn right and walk 150 feet/45 meters. You will find the Car Rental Shuttle area. Our shuttle bus, with the Alamo Enterprise National logo will bring you to our Rental Centre.

Cons: waited in the queue for 1hr and half and when I got to the front of the queue, the single person at the kiosk who dealt with the long line, said they only hold reservations for 1hr and so they cancelled my reservation. Worst service I have ever experienced after filling out the check in via the QR code in the queue to try and be helpful.

Pros: I had 2 flat tires. Car was picked up and we kept contact with the garage who fixed the car the next morning. Through our Spanish friend we have a copy of the invoice of the repair. Only 2 tyre changes. Bridgestone Turanza 6 235/40/18. The amount I had to pay was 1372,-. As you will suspect i will take legal action if you don’t restitute the amount that I overpaid… Me and my daughters were dropped of in a small village and left behind. Cons: When I picked up the car I had to get additional insurance which was almost as much as the rental cost. also the agent tried to sell me an upgrade without even showing me my car, because to begin with she couldn't find the car I had reserved.

Cons: On arrival at midnight, the rental office in the arrivals tail was closed, and there was no sign or message for where to go to pick up the car. We were lucky that a neighboring shop was open and could tell us that the rental company had another office in the car park itself. We could have avoided this experience and the accompanying stress.

Cons: The car was nice and big (thanks, we needed the extra size!) but it had a really bad and loud knocking sound in the front driver-side wheel. It was pretty nerve-wracking driving over the island wondering if something serious was wrong. But the pick up process was such a pain in the neck it was not worth taking the car back to be checked. Should have been checked thoroughly before it was given to us.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1200.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium location fee, Vehicle registration fee, VAT (value added tax), Free modifications.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the customer is not a resident of the following country(ies): EU countries.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit or debit card on a main driver's name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, return flight ticket, proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill), flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Written permission from the rental company is required.
Crossing country borders to Andorra, Portugal, Gibraltar is free of charge. Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).

It is allowed to add up to 3 additional drivers. Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 28 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
The grace period will be honored only during business hours.
