CarQ at Tirana Airport

Cons: The car wasn’t clean, the water for the windows was empty! They gave me a car empty of petrol so I had to find a place near the airport! Generally I will not choose it again

Pros: The people are very nice, very clear to understand, they all speak very good English and the car was in great condition

Cons: Everything was on time, the car was as ordered and worked perfectly for the 10 days we had it. CarQ was easy to find and parking was also easy and close to the airport

Cons: I booked an SUV but received an old Volkswagen Jetta. CarQ refused to provide the booked vehicle or an equivalent replacement and offered only €40. With my family and luggage waiting outside in the heat, I had no reasonable choice but to accept. The car was in poor condition: faulty mirrors, non-working reversing sensors and extremely difficult steering. This was clearly not equivalent to what I booked and paid for.

Pros: Nothing, apart that company was not far from airport.

Cons: First of all arrogance of employees. Filling documents took quite long because from time to time the guys found necessary to chat or to do something different. I have pre booked SUV but got 13 years old (actually employee to my question how old is the car lied saying it has been build 2017) VW in terrible condition, totally worn down, with couple hundred thousand km on the tachometer. The engine fault lamp was always shining, so happy that car not stopped somewhere in the middle of Albania.

Pros: There was a mistake with my booking and I was unable to correct it through the booking agent. When I spoke to Car Q directly they corrected it immediately with no fuss even though it was last minute.

Pros: These guys are the best. When I picked up the car, they recommended an insurance option that was more convenient for me. And when I was heading back, there were terrible traffic jams near the airport. I called them. They told me that another employee would come and pick up the car right on the road, so I could run to catch my flight. These guys really saved my butt.

Cons: There was no trunk cargo cover in the car. The most important: touchscreen panel did not work with Android Auto whatsoever. I have sent video to CarQ with complains. No response. Reported that failure at the drop–off – no apologies, no nothing. Total neglection of the client.

Cons: Nothing really, they did what they promised. It takes a while for deposit to be released after return which is the only thing I would change

Pros: The car was new in good condition and realy economic. You receive full instruction what they expect and what you should avoid. Customer service was quick and everyone speak english.

Cons: A fine of 300 EUR was given for driving a bit on unpaved road. It's impossible to drive anywhere in Albania without hitting unpaved road. Staff agreed that absolutely no damage was made to the car, but insisted that a fine of 300 EUR cannot be avoided. Staff were rude. After signing the paperwork and asking to get the keys, we were told to "just go".

Pros: Everyone involved in the process was incredibly kind. The entire staff was helpful and accommodating, and even when we returned the car without a full tank, they were happy to simply charge us for the value of the missing fuel. Both the pickup and return process were exceptionally fast and smooth. This experience cannot be compared to some of the terrible experiences I’ve had with other rental companies in other countries. When we return to Albania, we will definitely choose CarQ again. :)

Pros: Car was clean and in good condition, although it was not the model we had booked.

Cons: During check in several credit cards were denied for no reason. Additionally, they intentionally blocked the deposit transaction multiple times effectively forcing us to pay an additional insurance that would 'waive' the deposit. They forced us to pay €200 more than the initial reservation. To make things worse, they don't allow you to use the car in mountain regions and will charge you €500 more if you do according to their GPS. Not recommended at all, avoid this place and book somewhere else.

Pros: They were incredibly clear about communicating the restrictions on the vehicle. Because of that there were no surprise charges because we were able to be careful and not break any of the rules. The agents at the car pick up and drop off location were also very knowledgeable.

Cons: Hi, I booked a car, but the supplier charged me an additional €167.92. He said €40 was for a late pickup fee because I collected the car 2 hours late due to my flight delay, which I had already informed them about. He also told me that the full coverage I purchased through DiscoverCars would not cover everything and insisted that I pay €30 per day for full insurance, which I believe is not fair since I had already bought coverage through the website.

Cons: This provider is not exactly in the terminal. There are no sign posted so you need to ask other providers. There is 15 min walk on the broken pavements and on the road from the terminal building. Customer services was poor. Car had uncountable dents and scratches. They do not have full to full policy, so I had to return with maximum amount of petrol in case they object. Getting to them and walking back to the airport with 2 children and multiple luggage was on a broken pavement was hard.

Cons: It's not in the terminal. You walk approx 500 m outside the airport.

Pros: + we were offered a ride from the city to the airport where the car parking is + we were also offered a ride back to the city after car return + everything was nice and run smoothly + stuff was polite and friendly + cars (we borrowed two) were clean and in good shape + we enjoyed the ride

Cons: - one car was in a need for a service. We were told about it when picking up the car and there was no problem with it. But still, it´s bothering. - we didn´t receive any confirmation that we returned the cars - automatic gear would suite better the albanian traffic

Pros: Exceptionally service-minded and nice staff. Even drove us back to Tirana after returning the car.
