Optimo Rent at Tirana Airport

Pros: Car was as good as new. Very close to the airport. Drop off at 6am OK in spite of not being open at that time.

Cons: The non-acceptance of my debit card for the 500€ deposit and charging an extra 150€i n spite of me having paid for full insurance at time of booking. THEN IT WAS SUDDENLY POSSIBLE TO RESERVE THE 500€ ON MY DEBIT CARD.... Tank was almost empty, only 80K left. Of course we dropped it off also almost empty. Unusual... but ok.

Cons: Extreme waiting Lines for pick up, mainly due to the longest 'scare a customer in booking full coverage' speeches I ever heard. The did NOT want to sign the damage status document at pick up... Car was old, missed seat belt clips.

Pros: Got a new car low miles. Said 30 day refund for deposit but pending credit card payment returned in 2 days. No issues dropping car back. Quick check over and agent was happy with car.

Cons: Felt a little pressured into taking the additional insurance but same anywhere, it’s their job to sell. Booked a ‘crossover’ vehicle but was still quite a small Hyundai Bayon. Was expecting slightly bigger but did the job.

Pros: The person at the desk was super friendly and made the whole experience stress free. Unlike most rental car places they didn’t use scare tactics trying to up sell on to a different insurance. Also gave a free upgrade on the car

Cons: On m'a forcé à prendre une assurance supplémentaire alors que j'avais déjà souscrit à une assurance complémentaire lors de la réservation. Je n'ai eu aucun moyen de contacter DISCOVERS CAR.COM pour m'épauler. Au final cela m'a couté 270€ en plus des 550€ pour 10 jours de l'occasion. ALTE à l'arnaque !!!!

Pros: Even though the car was scratched all over (pretty standard in Albania) it worked realy well and had no problems while driving. The staff was very friendly.

Pros: personal is verry kind and takes time to explain about terms and conditions. fully covered insurance.

Cons: We had planned to go to a place, when we arrived we couldn't go because of bad road conditions. Ok I understand and I don't want to do damage to the car, but if they had sent us an email beforehand we would have booked a tour and not had to skip this beautiful location as we had no time to book for a tour.

Pros: The agents were flexible, friendly and easy to reach. The instructions and disclaimers were clear.

Pros: - I received the exact model I had booked, and it was brand new. - They provided great support when dealing with a traffic fine. - Swift and helpful handling of the authorization process for crossing the border due to an emergency. - Thorough and clear explanation of insurance options. - Offered great tips on places to visit. - Prompt and helpful phone support during the trip. - Convenient drop-off at the airport, saving us from walking with our luggage.

Cons: Some little improvement points: - the car is not fully fueled upon pickup, making it a bit challenging to return it with the correct amount of fuel - the directions to the service desk could have been clearer, it's just outside the airport (5 min walking).

Pros: General willingness to help and go above and beyond.

Pros: They were friendly and helpful. It was an easy process.

Cons: There weren't any problems with the service.

Pros: Simple, clear instructions on what you can and cannot do with the car. Namely the off-roading limits and such. They took pictures of the car with us, checked some of the existing damages and weren't very pushy with their own insurance. The car drove exceptionally well, it had 15000 kilometers and gave us zero problems. We took it from north to south, all over Albania. They are quite friendly and nice. Seemed genuinely interested in answering our questions and providing a good service.

Cons: The only thing I can mention is the location and office situation, but that's clearly a Tirana airport organizational issue and not a Optimo Rent one. So I can't really fault them for that.

Pros: Cheapest price. Kind reception. Near to airport.

Cons: Car shouldn't be allowed to be driving. Noticed (a bit later on) that the tires didn't had lots of profile, were dry and bursted (it would be illegal to drive with these tires in my country). Also the brakes didn't function properly, they were soft and didn't get you to a full stop like it should.

All this was on the account that there was a problem with my credit card and deposit could not have been locked... yet it worked fine for paying the insurance. Apparently, With insurance there was no need to block the deposit on the card and i was allowed to take the car. It just leaves a bitter taste and a feeling

Cons: Messaged me 30 minutes before scheduled drop off to tell me that if the car is returned late that this is a problem and that I will be charged an extra day. The contract states that I have 59 minutes. When I arrived 40 minutes late (within the grace period) nobody was there. The time was 5:40pm at the airport and within operating hours. So, they told me to put the key in the drop box. 17 hours later they message me that there is a scratch on the car. To me, it looks like something like a ...
