ABBYCAR at Tirana Airport

Pros: professional service, good English, free car upgrade, nice, responsive sellers.

Cons: the distance between the airport and the car pick-up point, the lack of company information/signage at the airport and a ban on entering certain territories in Albania.

Cons: it was problem with travel in the airport when we get back the car

Pros: Be aware of the small clause on the co tract, they like to earn money from penalties.... whatwver you do there's an hidden penalty

Cons: Very bad communication about terms and conditions

Cons: Hidden charges Took 60€ for cross country travel daytime insurance is not valid, but had to pay another 16€ at the border for insurance. The car I recived had some almost 63000 kilometres, so not in perfect condition. Cleaning charge- they expect you to bring the car in the same cleanliness sheet a week's travel otherwise you have to pay a fine. It would have been good to know this in advance.

Cons: This was the worst rental experience of my entire life (and I had 50+ rentals). ABBYCAR tried to scam me by refusing to give the deposit back. They accused me of driving through unpaved roads. I tried to explain that I didn't drive on unpaved roads, then they accused me of "lying in their face" because "the GPS is always right. I spend almost an hour trying to explain there is something wrong with GPS record presented to me, the very rude lady at service desk shouted at me most of the time

Pros: Everything went well. Got the car I booked in perfect condition.

Pros: The pick up was quick and efficient, as the representative was waiting for me as soon as I exited arrivals. The car was as expected. No problems during my trip.

Pros: They specially drove us to the airport when we were in a rush

Cons: Awful car and a complete cheek charging £10 cleaning fee for a reasonably clean car. We were originally told it's only payable if returned in a poor state but on return told it's always charged.

Cons: When i had a problem with car I texted and called them but they didn’t responded back so their support is so bad for these situations and I had to fix the car. When I drop off the car I explained the expense that I made but they really questioned me. I took my money back of course but they are so bad about supports and behaviors. They talk like you don’t understand anything about the car but i know the mechanic so if you are not an easy person, they cant trick you. Just be careful and confident

Cons: We had contracted full-risk insurance, we had an incident and there are no signs of life, no response, no help... when when hiring they tell you that they help you and they manage it within a maximum period of 48 hours

Cons: They are not professional. When I arrived no one was waiting us. I called several times no one answered. I sent emails, no one replied. The worst experience I have ever had.

Cons: The car rental agency is NOT at the airport. It took two hours from landing to actually get picked up and taken to the rental. We got a dirty car (exterior), and the representative said I was responsible for cleaning it--this was NEVER communicated to me. The representativea tried to scam me into paying a "ticket" they claimed I received from the police, showing me a piece of paper, with a date and time wben I hadn't even rented the car. A total lie and a cheap scam...I DID NOT pay.

Cons: شركة التأجير غير مهتمة بالعميل تعطل مكيف السيارة وعانيت من ذلك 4 ايام وحينما طلبت المساعدة لم يقدموا لي اي خدمة حتى كتبت مشكلتي في قوقل ماب فتحركت الشركة وطلبت مني اصلاحها ووعدت برد مبلغ الاصلاح، وكان الاستلام من مطار تيرانا وسلمونا السيارة من مكتب يبعد عن المطار 20 دقيقة👎👎👎👎

Cons: The pickup was slow and disorganised. One we had located their agent at the airport (which was not easy), it took another 1.5 hours to collect the car from their depot several kilometres away.

Pros: Renting the car in Tirana, Albania was great. You get picked up from the airport. 10min. drive to dealership. Staff overall is comforting and friendly.

Cons: Still waiting for the reserved amount on my creditcard after 5 days.

Cons: Car was old (over 150000km) even though they had many other much newer vehicles. Alarm Key was broken and would fall apart from time to time (I was stranded for about one hour, unable open the vehicle). Check out was disgraceful. Not only really slow but also insisted in charging me for a supposed fine that nobody could explain what was (no infraction or police ticket)

Pros: Drop off and getting my deposit back was fast and efficient

Cons: The website listed the car rental as “outside of terminal” - the office is a 15 minute drive from Tirana Airport, and we had to wait ~45 mins for other passengers to arrive before even setting off for the car rental place. By the time we’d waited, got to the office and I had my car, it had been 2 hours since I’d landed. If you are tight for time I don’t recommend them. They also told me I’d have to wash the car before dropping it back or face a €10 fee?! The car itself and drop off were fine.

Pros: The service was friendly and they were efficient when it came to returning the car which had been unfortunately scratched, they were very quick to provide us with all the documents needed for our insurance.

Cons: The service was very slow when we picked up the car and the card machine broke which meant we had to take out cash. Whilst the car was absolutely fine, it was quite old and didn't have many modern features such as a USB port. But overall fine.

Cons: The fact that the reservation talk about pick up and drop of the car at the airport is not completly true. They pick you in a van and take you to their offices so count with 40/60 minuts to have the car.

Cons: The Office is not in front of the Airport, but it's more than 10 km away, and it can take additional 30 minutes. They pretend you bring the auto back washed, even if the way to reach the dropping-off location is a muddy road. Discovercars.com must check better the data of the providers they offer.

Pros: The car provided was clean, new and in good condition. It had a built in magnetic holder for phone so it was easy to use our own sat navs.

Cons: We paid upfront for cross border access but at the Croatian border it turned out we did not have the Green Card Insurance permit required & were turned back. Rental company should have provided or advised we needed it. Initially the car rental company didn't want to help us, leaving us somewhat stranded between countries. 2-3hrs later this was finally resolved - but at a further cost. Also - most petrol stations in Tirana only take cash & we hadn't been told that either! Be advised!

Pros: PROFESSIONAL STAFF AND EVERYTHING FROM PICK UP TO DROP OF CAR WAS HANDLED PROPERLY

Cons: THEY DID NOT HAVE THE CAR. SO THEY HAD SENT ME TO ACE CAR RENTALS WHO ARE ALSO THE DEALERS FOR CITREON IN TIRANA. THE CAR THEY GAVE WAS NEW. BUT AFTER DRIVING FOR 2 DAYS, I HAD A POP UP INDICATION TO REPLACE GEAR OIL. I HAD TO SEARCH FOR A CAR REPAIR STATION TO CHANGE GEAR OIL TO DRIVE FURTHER. THIS IS NOT EXPECTED FROM A RENTAL CAR COMPANY WHO IS SUPPOSED TO GIVE CAR IN PROPER CONDITION TO CUSTOMER BEFORE RENTING IT OUT.

Cons: A very troublesome Check In app, I already did it, but when I went to the car rental, they said they have no information about me. Secondly, the Car Rental representative is very irresponsible, no one pick us up and I call them, no one pick up (because it's her day off, she doesn't want to pick up my phone), then I left in the airport for 2 hours without any help from both Abby Car and Discovercars. I tried to call them internationally but no one pick up phone and finally I run out of credit.

When renting the car online you are not made aware that the car is not permitted to drive on dirt roads, which meant we missed out on visiting some of the best beaches in Albania.
