Sicily By Car at Tirana Airport

Pros: office manager Ervis Lamaj, terrible service, arrogant, rude

Cons: car with problems with the wheels, it was necessary to go to the store in Sarande, the car was sent to the workshop, I lost a morning waiting for the car to be ready, terrible service from the employees, they charged me €190 extra for a scratch that I don't know if it happened while the car was with me, check-in on a busy street, with no possibility of analyzing the car and with many pre-existing scratches.

Pros: Everything was good, except the agent at pick-up.

Cons: The agent at pick-up, while efficient, was very unfriendly and rude/abrupt. Threw my international driver's licence back at me with disdain when I presented it to him as he only wanted to see my actual licence. Needs to go on an attitude adjustment course. The rest of the staff, were very friendly and efficient and I would use them again.

Cons: USB port would only work for charging phone, but not for connecting audio since it is faulty and kept disconnecting. There was zero windshield washer fluid and the interior driver's seat of the car was dirty.

Pros: The info was clear, and we brought the car back at night, they told us we can bring the car without extra costs at night. They were kind, told us where to find anything.

Cons: Not a very accurate description of the vehicle upon receipt. Upon return, a damaged tire was noticed that the agent did not have in the photo. Fortunately, we had our photos taken and everything cleared up. The day before returning the car, they tried to charge my card again after office hours. The employees know nothing and say it is impossible - however, the bank blocked these transactions and gave me the details of this, someone tried to do it and it was this company.

Pros: Before arriving to Tirana, I was skeptical and read many reviews about scams. Sicily by Car looked like a trustable option and it proved to be so - everything smooth, fast and reliable. Gladly recommend.

Pros: The office is just outside of the terminal across the road by the hotel. The host is friendly and professional. Drop off was easy and quick. They ask that you clean the car before you return, there are many places nearby that do it for you for around 600 lek. I requested cross border permission which was easy to get. At the border to Macedonia Greece or Kosovo you still need to pay the green card insurance. This was explained at the office. Deposit returned 21 days after the rental.

Cons: I got the Panda car as requested. Considering the road conditions and mountains I recommend an upgrade. The engine is weak and the tires are soft and without much thread. No snowchains are provided even if it's required. I did not get stopped, luckily. Was slipping on the road occasionally. Drive carefully and you'll be ok.

Cons: The opening hour. But it's the same for other company: if you have a flight late at night you don't find all the agencies open.

Pros: Noleggio comodo, vicino all'aeroporto e facile da trovare, l'auto era pulita e ben tenuta.

Cons: Il personale un po' scortese e diffidente. Abbiamo preso una multa di circa 10€ l'ultimo giorno di vacanza (di domenica) e non abbiamo avuto il tempo di pagarla in posta (in Albania se la paghi entro 5 giorni costa la metà). Abbiamo chiesto aiuto all'agenzia che ci ha addebitato 22€ per pagarla. E' sempre un peccato quando una buona agenzia fa queste scelte per guadagnare pochi euro perché perde di credibilità e stima.

Cons: The car rental pick up was across the road which is a bit of a walk in comparison to all other rentals which are just outside the airport.

Cons: extremally unpolite people. very hard to talk and to understand the explanation. One of the workers interrupted the conversation and started to scream with me because I wasn't understanding the situation of renting the car with a debit card.

Cons: The car was really old and falling apart. Air conditioner didn't work well, several pieces on the car (internal) were broken, and other plastic pieces wouldn't stay in place. Car had several warnings for the break needing maintenance, no water on the cleaner for the front glass, and also no way to open the front cap (the opener was broken as well). The car was given to me with less Diesel than agreed.

Cons: During the picking, it was said that car had not damage however it had and we needed to notice to company! Difficult to find the crossway of returning.

Cons: I asked if it was possible to pay with a debit card, and give the deposit using a different card (a credit card), it would have been useful to avoid some fees on the exchange. They said no it has to be all the same card. In Corfou with a different rental agency they did it. Something technical to be improved

Pros: the extreme rudeness of the worker from the first telephone call through to the paperwork and him challenging me to fight him was totally inexcusable.

Pros: Absolutely nothing. They are not helpful and difficult to get to from the airport even though they're right across the street you have to walk a kilometer of fence to get to them.

Cons: They refused to release me a vehicle stating my card was debit and not credit even after assuring them the card could be processed as both and I had taken multiple rentals in that area in the past with the same card no problem. They took a down-payment from the same card which I still need to be refunded.

Pros: The agent Ermald was a great helper. When I did not feel comfortable with the first car, he helped to change it immediately with another one. Returning the car also was smooth and quick process without any problem. Thanks

Cons: I asked where I could get a SIM card with internet for my stay in Albania. That lady who prepared the papers to sign told me that she doesn't know that but suggested to pay 6 EUR/day to have it in the car. I didn't like that option. Later on I found that you can buy such card in the Tirana airport that is about 150 meters away from the office (Vodafone or One mobile operators).

Cons: The vehicle received is old model. Prefer to have model not older than 02 years (minimum). Due to extreme weather it was recommended to have the glass tinted.

Pros: Rental office is not with others outside arrivals but is in Jurgen Hotel in front of Departures section of terminal, easy to see, but only when you know where to look and a longer walk than it seems due to barrier in the middle of airport road. Not everything was smooth but all problems were solved with a typically resourceful, friendly and flexible Albanian approach.

Pros: The car was not new, infact it was VERY old. It had 230,000 km mileage on it. There was a knockoing soung in the tire suspension, it was scary. The agent revused to replace the car !!!

Cons: Staff didn’t go over the contract appropriately which led me to a lot of headaches at boarders. The wifi in the car also didn’t work for the majority of my trip and staff didn’t reimburse me for the time lost. Instead they insisted that it was the first time that had happened and wasn’t taken seriously. The manager was more interested in defending himself than taking any responsibility for the actual issues such as the wifi. Highly disappointed with my experience.
