Avance at Crete Airport Chania

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Got the car we expected.

Cons: We returned the car in perfect shape just to have Avance tell us that there is a scratch on the bottom of the car that can only be seen if you crawl under it… Charged us over €200 for that. We are absolutely certain the scratch was there when we rented the car, but of course they wouldn't listen, and we couldn't prove it because who photographs under the car? Left us with a very bad taste after a nice four-day trip. I would definitely not recommend renting from them.

Pros: Avance Car Rental is a professional car rental company and fully met my expectations.

Cons: The reason for the low value rating is that the Chania airport branch charged my Norwegian credit card for the deposit of 993 euros instead of just blocking the amount. This resulted in a loss for me of over 500 NOK (about 45 euros) due to different exchange rates for buying/selling currencies. Be careful if you do not have a Euro Visa Card.

Pros: Very easy

Cons: Nothing bad

Pros: Very nice and problem free rental. Great service. Would recommend to everyone

Pros: Easy fast simple!

Pros: Staff were pleasant. Professional.

Cons: No complaints.

Pros: The smoothest car hire collection I have ever had.

Cons: Car had alot of scratches and bumbs, the window was so dirty on inside that had to stop on the highway to clean because didn't seee anything when the sun came of front.

Pros: Quick and easy to find and excellent helpful staff at airport desk

Cons: Car had scratches etc not marked on paperwork. But no problem when it was returned. Lots of photos had to taken when picked up.

Pros: Smooth, quick, efficient

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Friendly and helpful

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Really good service easy quick and friendly

Pros: Just Easy Process. I would totally recommend this company

Pros: Easy to reach from terminal. Helpful staff.

Cons: Received an SUV in place of a clio but worked out OK

Pros: They were excellent. The car was fantastic (9 seater Ford Torneo) and made our holiday easy from start to finish. Our only issue was having to put in Adblue unexpectedly as the light came on driving from the airport to our villa

Pros: Free upgrade

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Very professional and quick and easy to use!

Pros: In the description, it says you will get an Audi or similar but a mini Cooper or a Volkswagen is not a similar brand. It’s below and cheaper devil it is false still tricks that I do not like and I would like a refund because they don’t even have an Audi so why even advertise with it?

Pros: Profesjonalizm

Pros: Quick and efficient.

Cons: We asked for a manual gearbox but it was an automatic which took a couple of days to adjust too.

Pros: Friendly and efficient. No queue at airport and on site pick up.

Cons: We booked a manual car and were upgraded to an automatic slightly larger car. In hindsight automatic was easier anyway.

Pros: Fast, efficient, courteous

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Everything was going quickly.

Cons: the car was less than the car I rented from discover cars.

Pros: You paid me double insurance

Cons: You scammed me and charged me double insurance and gave me a much worse car than i paid for

Pros: The rental office was in the main terminal at Chania, metres from the arrivals area. There was no queue (unlike Avis) and the rep who helped us was quick, friendly and completely not salesy. We then had to walk less than 100m to the vehicle. The rep there advised us to take lots of photos and pointed out a couple of scratches And we were off on a decent quality, very clean large car. The return process was equally simple and I quickly received back the security deposit.

Pros: All was good

Pros: Very efficient, polite and helpful

Cons: About 30mins in to the drive the engine management light came on and a message saying the gearbox needed repairing. The gear change was shoocking and when I spoke to the agent they said not to worry. However when then had an accident that meant we had to return the car. Replacement car was fair better quality

Pros: Personal efficiency

Pros: Friendly, helpful

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Clear and easy to understand. No hidden surprises.

Pros: Spoke good English and explained everything clearly

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great with communication when we had bad flight delays, great communication via WhatsApp and phone. Great English. Very helpful.

Pros: Everything. Very professional and helpful

Cons: nothing

Cons: There's no such thing.

Pros: Excellent client care

Pros: Employees friendly

Cons: The car given should have been scrapped. Body condition was shocking, breaking was unsafe and squealed, power wasn’t accessible

Pros: Our flight was cancelled and we arrived a day late, advance couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding.

Pros: Efficient friendly

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Friendly approach

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff and replacement car was good quality

Cons: First car we had was old, 60k kms on clock and dodgy clutch meaning a return to airport for replacement next day but they were apologetic and handled it well

Pros: Nice and polite front desk lady at our arrival/pick up of the rental car. Thank god we did take a lot of pictures of the car before we started using it/before we left Avance. We knew, also thanks to Discover Cars tips and guidelines that we should take a lot of pictures of every bump and scratch on the car before leaving with it. And so we did, thankfully! Avance tried hard to find faults upon delivery of the car. Not nice! It was a hostile Wibe until they saw our pictures and proofs.

Cons: Upon departure, we came to hand the rental car over again. Avance came with 2 representative persons, and they were eager to find and point out scratches and bumps. Even though all of them was there from before. It turned out the lady who first gave us the car, had NOT taken good enough pictures (or so they claimed) so that the scratches and bumps did not show very well at the companys pictures. But we had lots of our own pictures, so they had to give up trying to fraud us! Unpleasant it was!

Pros: Very simple, straightforward and friendly

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Friendly helpful

Cons: Didn’t realise the deposit we had paid was for another company fee

Pros: Polite and efficient

Cons: Drop-off could have been clearer. There wasn't someone in the car park at the agreed time, but the desk resolved the return. However I wasn't present when the car was checked over.

Pros: Quick, friendly and helpful service from the two people I dealt with

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Not much. Very poor value for quality of car provided

Cons: Flight late. Agent said we should have called to advise of late arrival, despite arrival arrival board within a few metres of the desk. Provided a very old Nissan, broken tail light, rust spots on hood, dented, dirty interior. I refused car and asked for alternative. Decided to cancel. Business owner the intervened and offered 9 years old Nissan, 96,000km, stained interior, squealing brakes, but worked. Grossly over priced for cat at end of life.

Pros: Friendly fast service at the desk and quickly away

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The fact that when our car wouldn’t start the company delivered a new one to us

Cons: The car was smaller than ordered & was older than we expected. However when it wouldn’t start the company delivered a new one for us

Pros: Friendly staff

Pros: They were efficient and friendly. They had got our booking dates wrong but it was sorted out with their head office with no problems

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like

Pros: Girls on desk ny check in were perfect and also by dropping off.

Cons: Car was not in top condition, weak battery, weak air condition.

Pros: Quick and very friendly

Cons: The company I ordered through wasn't on their logo board, so took a while to find. Minor inconvenience.

Cons: In your site you are offering "wifi router" (which cost 50€) in the car, and

Pros: No hassle, no delays

Cons: The car was a little "tired", but the rep carefully noted down all the scratches etc, so I felt confident I wouldn't be charged any extra for minor marks & scuffs

Pros: quick, helpful, clarified no go areas and recommended places to go with a detailed map and received an automatic car which was unexpected but came in handy.

Cons: car should be fully topped up with fuel - it's impossible to fill up mid way so filled up with a full tank.

Pros: Quick, friendly, straightforward. No hard sell of additional insurance.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Nothing

Cons: cancelled booking as plane delayed, overcharged for another car

Pros: Proximity from airport

Cons: Slow pick up and drop off and old car condition given the price paid

Pros: The service was excellent, my only comment was whilst the car was very clean, it had many scratches and dents.

Cons: We got an upgrade apparently. The car was in such poor condition. I reckon the fee paid for the 2 weeks was enough to buy the car twice over. 95,000 kilometres on the clock. Check 4WD light on, on collection and throughout. Car key fell apart. Terrible.

Pros: The customer service on arrival was first class, the gentleman that met us was professional, great fun and couldn't have been more helpful.

Pros: very helpful

Cons: nothing

Pros: Fast and efficient

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Reasonable price

Cons: Not a full-to-full fuel policy

Pros: Easy and fast handling.

Cons: I wish they had told me of the age of the car - however I have no reason to complain.

Pros: Our flight was cancelled 4 hours before the departure. I call Discovery Cars right away and they were able to change the pick up day 2 days later. They were so great that I didn't pay any fees and I dind't pay for the two loss days. Very very good service.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Polite helpful and made the collection easy

Cons: Because the operator cancelled my booking, I lost my deposit. They would not let me pick the car up the following day. I had to pay a fortune to get to my hotel in the middle of the night after a long day travelling and a long flight. Tried to call discover cars also to resolve the issue and didn’t get a call back or anything.

Pros: Kindness of personnel

Cons: All was ok

Pros: Nothing stands out

Cons: Nothing special

Pros: Easy to locate, helpful staff

Cons: PRICE WAS VERY HIGH FOR THE CAR VALUE. CAR WAS VERY NOISY , AND NOT IN BEST CONDITION.
