Pros: Their offices both in Chania and Herakleion airports are just 3-5 minutes walk outside the departure hall. They were super responsive both on phone and email and as I had to make some changes during my rental period it was very helpful.

Cons: I had to pay extra for dropping the car not at the same place where I picked it up plus paying extra for out of hours service (as my flight changed to be in the middle of the night). But that's all legitimate. They have a clear rule - no driving on gravelled roads, which in Crete can be challenging if you are looking for adventures.

Pros: Out of office hours car pickup was possible with a reasonable extra charge. Very fast and efficient pickup and drop off of the car.

Cons: Security deposit clearance from the credit card takes time.

Pros: Service good, except for the damage handling. I have to do all the administrative handling afterwards (claiming etcetc). One day after left Chania the initial deposit of €900 still not released but they were very eager to ask €350 for initial damage recovery!!! So now €1250 is there!!!

Cons: Administrative handling regarding damage. You as customer take the full coverage insurance so that you are ‘safe’.

Pros: Starting with the staff, very poor communication and trying to make you sign documents without leting me seeing the car first.

Cons: The car was really dirty and full of sand on the inside. Seats also very dirty and bad smell. At the delivery Maria, the staff, had the nerve to complain about the car having dust on the exterior. Too much money for this type of car we got but even worst for the way the treat people. Never going to use this rental again.

Pros: Only one service desk person available and very slow service. We had to wait more than an hour to collect the car and more than half hour to only drol of the keys.

Cons: Vehicle had one working headlight and numerous errors on dashboard due to tyre sensor and ABS being off. Car was not throughly checked before given to us and we nearly crashed due to lack of headlights in severe rain storm that started just as we picked up the vehicle. Local agent came out to replace headlight bulb next day but when I mentioned condition of vehicle at drop off the agent said “it’s the end of the season” like they could not maintain it over the summer and what should I expect.

Pros: I would like to thank the staff who have been very helpful after I was robbed of my bag which included my rented car key. They did everything possible to provide me with a replacement key (which I had to pay for and will claim through Discovery cars insurance) within the day and also delivered to my hotel.

Cons: the front window of the car was dirty, there was no window cleaner. something was banging on the back of the vehicle (car muffler, shock absorber?). tire pressure was too low.

Cons: The car was a very tired 8 year old Nissan Micra automatic that if I was to buy it wouldn't have been much more than what we rented it for! We were expecting a more modern car for the money.

Cons: When booking, I chose a strictly defined car: Mercedes-Benz A Class. Not a similar car, not a class of car, but a specific car. When I came to pick up the car with two small children, I was told that there was no car, that I had to take either a lower class car or get out. They said it was my problem that they didn't have a car. They said they had a lower class Hyundai KONA (very old) and I had to take it or go out. (they don't know the word please and excuse me).

Pros: The lady on the desk at both pickup and return was very efficient and helpfully. She handled the paper work very efficiently and had us on the road without delay. She is the main reason for my positive ratings.

Cons: The car was just about passable. It was clean to a basic level. The body work was in very poor condition, there was not a single panel without scratches or dints. The breaks rumbled when applied, and there were various worrying noises when changing gear and turning. In addition, sometimes it was difficult to turn the start key and I thought we were going to be stranded away from the towns. It appears to have been the worst car available as when I returned it the other cars looked much better.

Cons: Absolutely unsatisfactory return of the car. The car rental agent did not show up at all for the scheduled return of the car at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. He didn't even pick up the phone. On the second number, I only received an apology from a manager and the information that I should throw the keys in the mailbox. After 45 minutes of waiting, a representative from another rental company appeared and checked the car and took the keys. But I still haven't been refunded the €900 deposit.

Pros: I paid for out of hours pick up, the attendant was not at the office at the time expected. However the attendant was incredibly polite and apologised sincerely, which made up for the error entirely.

Cons: While a good price (hence the score for overall value) the car was between 10 and 12 years old and had various minor things wrong with it -- the headlight lenses were yellowed and barely translucent (from being outside in the sun for many years), door rearview mirror controls did not work, electric door locks worked intermittently, rear hatch would not stay reliably in the open position, passenger seat airbag light was always on, whether or not anybody was in the seat, etc.

Cons: The car was absolute trash. It had run more then 164k km and was making the weirdest noises all of the time. There was so little wiperwasher fluid that it became dangerous to continue to drive on the 2nd day!!

Cons: We booked a 9 seater with air con for 7 adults and 2 babies. We were given a vehicle with no air con just a ‘cold’ fan which wasn’t even slightly enough for the temperatures in Crete. We had to purchase hand held battery fans to keep the babies cool. Journeys were very uncomfortable which was a shame as we wanted to explore more of the island but going too far was unbearably hot. We were offered another vehicle when we got there with ‘better’ air con but at a higher price. False advertising!

Pros: The person we picked the car up from was very efficient and friendly. Booking the car was easy and the process was simple. The money blocked off on my card was quickly released.

Cons: The people we picked the car up from tried to penalise us for returning the car with some dust on it, even though we had picked it up in this condition. However, after showing them some videos they conceded this was not our fault and did not add on the extra charge. This was a quick exchange however and did not affect our positive experience with RR, we would simply recommend all renters take videos of the car they pick up; I do NOT feel RR was trying to con us with extra charges.
