We had a wonderful time with the use of the car in the smaller cities of Italy (Tuscany areas). Do not drive in Florence (Firenze) if you can avoid it or stay on the outskirts of the city. Lots of traffic and difficult to get through efficiently.

The trip itself was fantastic, Siena, Montepulciano etc, But, be very aware, we took non toll roads so we could see Toscana but the roads are diabolical!!!! Seriously, I have never ever driven on such disgusting roads in my life, POTHOLES galore, the roughness and unevenness of the surface. I know this has no bearing on Easycarhire themselves, but you asked of my experience of our trip and that is the biggest memory lol!!

Bad weather meant car couldn’t get out of the drive at the house. Airport closed 40 minutes after landing, then the mother of all storms driving into the hills! Rained all but 2 days. Shoes split on walk down to village! Luggage lost on return flight. However, local villages lovely, food & wine good and very good prices! Would recommend if better weather. Life is ‘a box of chocolates’!

I needed a car to get back and forth from a village 2 hours away.to pisa airport and to drive to local villages. I though compact meant a small car that I chose but I was mistaken. Somountains. I did not use the car as much as a planned because the car was too big for me to comfortably drive on those extremely
