Centauro at Pisa Airport

Pros: Quick service at collection-I have waited up to 2 hours for car hire previously and this was quick and polite. They did not try to upsale insurance or other add-ons at the desk. Good value car.

Cons: Instructions to find bus pick up point on arrival were a little incorrect. It was useful to know the bus was yellow, as helped us identify it-they drive into the car park which is opposite the stop where other agents collect

Pros: The cantauro staff were excellent. Their systems and procedures, however, need a major overhaul. Not being able to use a second credit card caused major delays on pick up…a problem they suggested could be worked around if I paid an additional c 200 euro excess cover insurance.

Cons: Tried to call them multiple times to confirm where shuttle bus would pick me up, no response . If I had not used them before I would not know the pickup point for shuttle bus which is different to other renters located at the airport. Waited 30 mins for pickup and was not sure that they were going g to pickle up.

Pros: Car was brand new, just over 1k mileage. Drop-off was surprisingly fast, because I paid for full insurance from Centauro.

Cons: Centauro convinced me to buy insurance from them because it covers "everything" by giving examples of issues I may face if I go with the insurance I bought through discovercars.com during the booking. At the end I had paid for 2 insurances, that did make me feel bad.

Pros: The pickup from Pisa airport was very quick, taking me to the checkin desk to collect the car. It took 5 minutes to collect the car and I couldn't fault anything. I was not pressured into buying insurance I didn't need and everything was explained to me. The car was new, clean and in great condition. Unfortunatley we had a no-fault accident during the hire of the car but this was also dealt with efficiently and quickly when we dropped the car back. I would recommend these guys in Pisa, thankyou

Unable to contact office as no local office details provided. Almost two hours by the time we got the car - lots of damage on the car which the company had not noted, despite telling us car had been checked. Charged for damage when returning it. Dreadful service, appalling communication, dishonest ripoff

Pros: They do not try to rip you off by finding scratches etc on the car and all the representatives are very helpful - this applies only to Centauro Pisa, who I have gone to for many years.

Cons: The prices are now way too high - I understand it is due to lack of cars, but can that explain a near tripling in price?

Pros: At Pisa specifically, the shuttle bus is a bonus since it picks you outside the terminal. Compared to the 'in airport' providers which requires an 800m walk with all luggage in the Tuscan heat. Service was very quick and easy although may have been quiet this year due to Covid. They also had a much more reasonable charge for child seat compared to others. Some major providers wanted over 100 Eur for a week which is disgraceful for a safety device. Centaur at 50 odd Eur was reasonable.

Cons: The fuel policy of 3/4 -> 3/4 is odd and seems designed to either catch you out or cause you to be cautious and buy them some extra fuel. How can one estimate when refuelling to hit 3/4 of a tank in a car you don't know very well?

Cons: Had to wait 30 minutes for pickup bus - mind you, partly my fault as went to the wrong place ( a walk away) so missed the correct transfer and had to wait for another. It would be good if the collection details said Centauro is in a different place to the other agencies.
