ECH at Pisa Airport

Pros: Easy finds, they do check-ups seriously with damage before you take the car. Multiple options and fair price.

Cons: The extra insurance that they offer, they tell it like the insurance at Discover Cars isn’t valid. This is not true, it’s a different way of being secure for some kind of damage. They try to sell an extra at the counter, we didn’t get it tho but I’m sure some people will buy it and extra costs are never a good start of the holiday.

Pros: The car itself was good and helped me get around on my trip in Italy.

Cons: The ECH desk were incredibly unhelpful and forced me to pay for unneeded full comprehensive insurance (even though I had my own with the RAC) due the the fact I was using a VISA debit card. A horrible start to our holiday.

Pros: The whole experience was overshadowed by the service received when I handed the vehicle back.

Cons: The attitude of the attendant when we handed the vehicle back. Charging me for pre existing damage. Awful.

Cons: SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF MONEY AND FRUSTRATION, DO NOT RENT FROM ECH I paid 1.773,01 for a Fiat Panda for 11 days. 288,21 for the car rental. Then at pickup they made me pay 512,80 as an ‘extra insurance’ because the people at the desk didn’t know how to use the credit card number on the back of my debit card. The company from which I rented a house didn’t have any problem with this. On the way back to the airport a stone struck the windscreen, which lead to a crack. They charge another 972,-.

Pros: Nothing, they have ripped me off charging me for damage I have not caused. The rep actually pulled the mud guard off in one corner and stated I caused the damage. It clipped back in so I presume they use this trick regularly.

We asked if we could change to name to my partners name, she had her valid drivers license with her. Cons: No service at all at the costumers service in Pisa. I was the main driver and did not have a Master card, only visa card. The 2. driver was not allowed to pay or register his card. We coosed to cansell the car. Really not polite people we met in Pisa.

ECH an absolute disgrace “found” 2 minor marks on car on return 1-2mm which were so small could have been there on collection. ( all other companies don’t even note anything less than 25mm). charged €621 for this. Ignore emails sent to them. Still awaiting receipt of money they took so I can claim on my insurance. I note there is a significant volume of complaints re this co on various sites.

Cons: the service was very poor, actually there was no service, the car tyres were almost flat i had to fill the tyres at the nearest petrol station, the window washer water was empty and the engine emergency light was on when i asked what this was the staff stated that maybe i should check if the car needed oil and i was allowed to fill the car oil if i wanted. Also, the deposit should be released within 10 days - easy car needed 30 days to release the deposit.

Cons: Recommend quality monitoring. Clerk took 15-20 minutes per customer. Budget clerk got me checked in in 5 minutes

Cons: HORRIBLE! Not helpful at all, we had to pay so much more even though we called three times to check with ECH. Worst car company ever. I felt really disappointed and upset because of this. I would like my money back.

Cons: They state they are in the terminal which isn't true ( none of the agencies are), all are a 7/8 minute walk or a shuttle bus (which isn't a problem really).

Always the same story with own insurance (when I already bought Full Insurance on booking page of Discover Cars) - must haggle and assertively deny the option. Cons: - Provided a car seat which had a very old clasp, it had exposed metal and springs and this broke during our trip leaving us without a safe way to transport our toddler. Luckily, the clasp broke completely on the final day of our trip, just before a 150 km trip to the rental office. When we raised it on the check-out, the attendant said that it wasn’t a problem, that it was not an issue and that he just wanted us to agree to pay an extra €20 for a “extra clean of the car”

Cons: 1. The pick-up time was scheduled for 17:00, but we were able to pick up the car at 19:30. The agent said that the system had cancelled the booking and that it would cost €40 to reactivate the booking. 2. The agent said that the prepaid fee on the discovercars website is not included in the booking fee, it is the discovercars commission. It was clear to us that it was an advance on the rental fee. Neither of which was properly communicated on the website during the booking process.

Cons: I was on my husband's account for the credit card but didn't have my own card. We should the account details but this wasn't accepted making us pay another £160 thereabouts. We weren't told where to pick the car up, walking around for over 45mins, not told what to do on our return and wasting time finding someone in the car park.

Cons: Due to my naivety, I thought that 'Discover Cars' was the name of the car hire firm, rather than the website, so we were looking for the wrong sign. After rereading the documentation, we realised that we should be looking for 'Easycarhire' and then all was well. Can this be made clearer on the documentation to avoid considerable stress and confusion? Also, the car hire offices are a somewhat inconvenient distance from the terminal itself, so that was misleading and hard work in rain!

Definitely should have been 2 or 3 serving and a dedicated person to check cars at the end. Poor woman - it was so stressful for her and customers returning cars whose flights wouldn’t wait on them! They were in good time too - the customer that is. Shambles!

Cons: I purchased the extra insurance with Discovercars, but the EasyCar hire agent was adamant that the cover wasn't as good as if I would have got it from them:- The breakdown cover wasn't as comprehensive The Discovercars cover rely on police reports for claiming back deposits, whereas the Police rarely get involved with minor car incidents and so unlikely to provide the necessary documentation I would have needed. The Easycar hire cover would have covered this. Frutsrating and worrying.

Cons: 1 customer service agent to 7 customers, took forever to get spoken to, £15 hire became over £300.

Cons: There is no full fuel tank pick up, so it is very difficult to put exactly same amount fuel when you drop back car, so just in case, u put in full. When you drop it back early morning, there is no staff who receive the car back.

Pros: Dropping the car is inconvenient - I had to bring the key to the main office.

Cons: I expected a Skoda Fabia (as promised) but instead got an Opel Corsa that has a much smaller trunk. We could barely fit all our stuff in the car. I asked to give me a slightly bigger car but the agent refused. Also, charging euro 90 for not having an International Driving Permit is an overkill. I'd be fine with 40-50 but 90 is way too much. I've read some companies in Italy don't even ask for it.

Also, the hire desk is described as being in the terminal. it is in a terminal, but not THE terminal - all the car hire desks at Pisa are in a separate building about half a mile from the main terminal, which is a strenuous walk in hot weather dragging luggage!

Cons: I was forced to pay for extra insurance at Easycarhire which added €290 to the cost. I wrote to discovercars where I already paid for an insurance to get a refund - 10 days after I have not heard anything.
