Optimo Rent at Marrakech Airport

Pros: It's hard to describe how UNPROFESSIONAL the pick-up process of Optime rent is! A day before my arrival I've got short directions via DiscoverCars that said "Once you complete your arrival process, got out through the main door and proceed to the parking lot where our agent will await you". And so I did. The parking lot is a vast space, there's tens of people everywhere, taxis, busses etc. I kept on walking for a while but it was pointless so I returned to the main exit looking for the agent.

Cons: There's NO WIFI at the airport, Optimo didn't contact me via WhatsApp, I only had their local phone number. Luckily I found a local man who helped me to call Optimo. It took 3 other people to call them to help me localize where the agent was waiting for me and that was some TOTALLY RANDOM SPOT at the far end of the parking lot! Insane! How was I supposed to find him. I lost almost 45min looking for the car, it started raining, signing the papers was done at spot, in the rain. Terribly experiene!

Pros: They caused delays and stress during my holidays

Cons: The car had worn tyres with no tread depth, making it unsafe and illegal to drive. When I raised this, they insisted the tyres were fine and even questioned my valid NatWest card because it shows only my initial and surname. I spent 2 days in Marrakech feeling unsafe. We agreed to swap the car at the airport the next morning, but the person left for Casablanca. After calling several numbers, I finally reached someone who eventually agreed to change the car. The replacement was dirty but safer.

Pros: Good car on very reasonable price. Recommend it.

Pros: Car was dirty and car charger was not working when I told on pick up he doesn’t want to do anything was not helpful at all I don’t think I am renting car with same company again

Pros: They ask about 30 euro for cleaning. Rediculous with 10 euro you can clean your car inside and outside in Morokko

Cons: They ask extra money 17 euro for each day. Thief never again

Pros: Whenever I phoned Omar ( staff), he answered the phone straight away.

Cons: Extremely difficult to find the representative and get the car. We have to wait a lot when returning the car. I felt ripped off as I had to pay €30 for cleaning the car at the return ( it was only dusted outside and in pristine condition inside).

Pros: I landed at 3:30pm and i didn’t get my car until 5:30pm after I had someone call on my behalf. This vendor doesn’t have a boot at the airport or a point of contact to pick up the car.

Cons: They tried to charge me 68 euros for dropping the care earlier, they don’t have a Dropbox for the key and they are inflexible and very aggressive and rude to their customers. They’re not local to Marrakech and they do business from Casablanca.

Pros: I rented my car with optimorent and the agent was terrible not professional at all. At pick up time the agent wasn't there I had to call him many times to found out that he was asleep which put me in a position were I could have missed my flight. He also ask me to pay 300 moroccan dirhams to clean the car. I rented so many cars before and never they ask me to clean the car. Anyway do not rent with optimorent the agents are terrible.

Cons: The agent took 1hour to give us the car as he was arguing with an other customer and when finished with them he started talking on the phone with friends. I had a really bad experience never renting with optimorent anymore.

Pros: I did not get a car as arranged through you as we had no verification code, no idea which car hire company to pick up car. I checked with all providers, not one had my details. Cons: Rude customer service, dirty - filthy car, hidden fees, no concern for wellbeing of customer, tardiness and lateness, intentionally trying to extort money and more details below.

Pros: Nice car, almost new.

Cons: I was waiting at the airport for someone to Pick me up but nobody came. After 20 minutes I called the agency and they were mad of me because I was 20 minutes to late 😳. At the voucher was noticed that someone will pick me up the tha labe Optimorent. I showed hom the voucher and the info about the picking up, but he refused it.

Pros: There was nothing to like!

Cons: Awful pick up, awful drop off, did not answer the phone or the messages or email. Total blackout! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

Pros: I'm going to Marrakech, I rented a car from different company, but this company is the big scammers in Marrakech, they rent you the car for low, but when you return it, you pay double, they look for millimeters of damage even sometimes under the car?! to pay per hundredth of a euro for damage, beware!!!!!!!!

Cons: NEVER USE OPTIMO RENT!!!! I had to text 3 different phone numbers to coordinate the dropoff with a random person. They charged a $1550 holding fee on my credit card. There was no office for the company. It was just a random guy that shows up sometimes, and it was impossible to find. The worker lied and told me he would arrive in 15 minutes when I called him, and he showed up 40 minutes later. The gas tank was on empty, and then he told me to just bring it back on empty. That's a scam.

Pros: I need me 300€ cash back disaster

Cons: Agent was due to meet us at the airport entrance at 12pm however they didn't turn up. There's a number you can ring but it doesn't work with Whatsapp and they don't have an office at the airport. I eventually got hold of them by asking the rep from another hire car company to call on my behalf and they came to meet us 45 minutes late. Same problem at drop off, the rep was late to meet us and we had to abandon the car.

Pros: Excellent car peugeot in good condition.

Cons: The pick-up part should be much more clear, they don’t wait for you at the arrival, you have to call them and exit somewhere in the parking behind Avis. Also first time ever in 20 countries where I had to pay the airport parking ticket right at pickup ! Unfortunately i scratched the right mirror to a wall so i was expecting some deduction, but not 100 eur! In my country you can fix that with 60 euro max, so for sure the cost in Morroco would be similar of less.. but.. that’s life.

Cons: I didn't like that the agent didn't wait in front of the airport exit. We were here for the first time. We had to ask the airport employee to call the agency where is our car? Then you find out that it's in another parking . Hello, I'm here the first time. The other agencies are waiting with their names on a sheet in front of the entrance. The first guy when we picked up the car was not ok, we lost a lot of time. The second guy when we returned the car was very friendly and fast.

Cons: Person I picked up the car from was rude and only revealed there was late charged cause after 23:00 once i was there. No mention of it before booking.

Pros: They were very flexible! We arrived later 11pm and they could deliver the car the day after

Pros: Quick drop off of the car. Uncomplicated once we met them...

Cons: the guy from the rental service didn't show up at the meeting point - we had three numbers to call, but only one of them was working - rental guy showed up 1.5 hours later at a different place and told us a story why he arrived late...so if you'd go for a "fakir"-rental experience - likelihood is given that you'd get it with such a rental service.

Cons: The car rental agent didn't mention the conditions on the form. These conditions are not standard and cost a substantial amount on top of the rental price (for example you need to deliver the car clean). All extras such as an extra driver cost a lot.

Cons: Always the same deal with those credit card card scam if you are not carefull they will charge for every si how little detail. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Pros: The agent Simo was excellent! Very accommodating and helpful, would definitely rent from him again

Pros: Le loueur hamza est très gentil et tout s’est tres bien passé. La voiture etait nickel et idem pour la rendre ca a été tres rapide.

Pros: Hamza was brilliant. He messaged the day before and confirmed where he would be. Drop off was also effortless. 10/10 for the agent. Car was also top notch.

Cons: Just bear in mind that since this is meet and greet, you need a working mobile/Wi-Fi connection when you land at the airport in case you cannot find the agent. Same to same is always less preferred than full to full, since invariably you lose out (often substantially) on fuel!

Pros: We rent a Dacia Logan in Marrakesh. I liked that the car renting was quite cheap. I liked that the guy that brought us the car and the other one who came to take it back didn't really complicate - when we got the car that was full of scratches, he let us take pictures of it, he patiently waited when I was searching for the credit card PIN. And the guy that came to pick it up, just looked quite quickly at the car, didn't try to make us pay for the scratches we didn't do. The car was working fine.

Cons: I chose that company (and not some other more known) because they offered child booster seats (for 6-years old), but at the end when they brought us the car, of course they didn't have a child sit. I was quite angry. They don't have a stand at the airport, they just bring you the car, I was quite uncomfortable with that. We waited for the guy to come quite some time. The car wasn't really clean inside (but they didn't complicate when we returned it not really clean either).

Pros: Our flight was delayed, but was no issues for them to handover the car at later time.

Cons: Disgusting way of trying to charge us extra money for no reason. Huge waste of time.

Cons: Not explaining the deposit properly if I rent again I would want it all done up front .

Pros: Good communication, ease of handover. Car condition was good considering the reviews from other travelers.

Cons: Back tires were pretty run down, headlights were not aligned that caused issues driving at night.

Cons: Didn’t like the overall service and most importantly the way we were treated by the guy who made the check in and check out. You should be careful on how you select your employees, the company will fail because of lack of education and politeness if not

Pros: Casual communication through whatsapp, very friendly staff, everything was easy.

Cons: The car did not have an AC even though I booked the one with AC, the agency did not want to reduce the price. The AC was a must in Marrakech where the temperatures were above 38 celsius. The car could have been washed before, it was dirty on both outside and inside.

Pros: Fast, easy

Cons: On the return of the car, the card machine did not work. I had €1200 deposit on the credit card, for the car. Still waiting for them to get back to me on that. That was 3 days ago.

Pros: it was relatively good value for money and the condition reporting was reasonable

Cons: Car had no air Cond, and was not full. First expereince of a pick up wihtout an office in the car park. Took ages too find them, data comms were imposssibly slow which mean the deposit felt like it was charged 3 times. Took almost 2hours to get into the car. this was also my fault as our flight arrived early without notice. Did not like being told to return the car clean as we were given it, when they didint bother to full the tank.

Pros: quick pick and quick drop off

Cons: too expensive extra insurance on the spot
