Americars Auto Rental at Fort Lauderdale Airport

Cons: Some confusion as to where the pickup point was at the airport. Couldn't initially get through to a live person when calling

Pros: The car would have been fine if we didn’t have such trouble with the tire they never repaired before renting it out.

Cons: Defective tire - they wanted us to repair it when they rented it out defective.

Cons: Disorganized, unprofessional, poor communication and instructions. Deposit held for a long time. Overcharged. Terrible customer service.

Pros: They were friendly, serviceminded, flexible, easy to communicate, Great air shuffle.

Cons: There was no sign at the office- about where to deliver the car. On the next side of the building. They told us when we arrived, but we had forgotten by the time we were suppose to deliver the car.

Pros: Agents Not very professional or helpful. Flights were cancelled due to FLL airport closure due to flooding. Quoted me $120 to drop off car in Orlando then charged me $180. Due to our circumstances, no exceptions made to help us get back to our hotel after dropping off the car late at night. Very scary parking lot, staff were not welcoming. Our flight was very early next morning. Had to take an Uber back to our hotel. Realized the hotel was a shorter distance than the airport. Not happy.

Pros: I thought the price was very reasonable for renting a car, and the add-on driver was especially reasonable. I would rent from discover cars again.

Cons: For some reason, when the person charged my card, the amount was charged 3x and on hold in my cc. it lasted couple of days to clear because it was a WE. the person at Americar was really helpful in finding out what the issue was… in the end it was out of their control.

Cons: The rental company didn’t respect the agreement and charged me $1,000 for deposit instead of $250 as was written!

Pros: When I booked online, I indicated my flight would be there late. Instead of informing me that Americars would be closed and not be able to pick me up, I apparently was booked to pick up at 12:00 noon instead of my late arrival. I had to rent at the airport and lose my deposit.

Cons: The instructions weren’t very clear when picking up rental car. It took a while to figure out that we had to contact them by phone to pick us up and take us to their office.

Pros: Parts missing and seat were stained we were explained that is because are in a lite color and they get stained to easy other than that week vive was missing in a tire but nothing to affect the function of the car it was great

Pros: The car had a small hit on the rear bumper, was reported to us and had no problem of the dropping off the car

Cons: The shuttle pick up was not in a large van, but in the actual car I was renting. There was no room for all of our stuff, since there was another person in the car. They did not provide car seats even though I had requested them. Then the guy lied and said he called me to tell me they didn't have any. I had to drive with my children in the car without car seats. They did have an infant seat and tried to pass it off as a child seat. To be honest I should have told them to leave and not even got in

Pros: Do not rent from them! They tried to charge my credit card 2 days later after they already charged for the rental.

Cons: My credit card company alerted me to fraudulent activity from this company. I had to cancel my credit card so they could not charge on it. Terrible business!

Cons: When I got there, the car wasn’t ready. The manager was driving it over to my location and told me he’d be there in 30 mins. Then after 30 mins when we called him, he said he would be another 30 mins. Then he suggested I take another car and that he would come meet me where I was staying. I was staying at a friend’s house and wasn’t going to give him my address. Plus the rental place looked a bit sketch. Would not recommend AT ALL.
