Pros: The fact that they delivered what they promised.

Cons: There is a comprehensive problem when renting a car in Greece. The cars provided by rental companies are always of a lower standard of finish than is common in most countries. For example, the Skoda Kamik that they gave me didn’t have a reverse camera and other functions that are usually provided in this model.

Cons: I had to extend the rent period by 1 day, but the price of this additional 1 day was 4 times higher than the daily price of the original contract. That's highly unfair!!!

Pros: The pick-up was very problematic as the van does not have a clear sign and nobody seems to know them.

Cons: At the car return they said they found scratches I didn’t know about and they became immediately aggressive and rude - I had to tell the guy to stop shouting at me. They couldn’t explain clearly the situation and they were only interested and n taking the money from my excess: the evaluation of the scratches was also exaggerated, placing the ‘damage’ at over €350. It’s clear there is a collusion between the car hire company and the garages in order to scam tourists of their money. Appalling!

Pros: Great service. Efficient. We hired an automatic. Panagioti and Christina at the car hire place were great. We needed to extend our car hire because of a tour that was cancelled (out of our control) and I rang them and extended our car hire over the phone. No hassles at all. Paid for it when we dropped off the car at the same rate. Would definitely use them again.

Cons: No representative was at the airport. After few calls on the heplpedsk approx. 1 hour later came another car rental company ABBYCAR. Never use this company. They wanted to pay cash amount on the contranct and additionally pay cash also "extra charge" about 100 % more to the contract amount. Definitely, we took a taxi and went to another car rental company. There is no possibility to recover the paid deposit. I will explore, if this conditions are in contrary to EU rules.

Pros: The airport pickup and drop off was quick and on time. The value for the car was the best from what I could find online. And mostly I liked that they replied very quickly to all my email queries.

Cons: The car was in overall good condition, but at times had slight problems with second and third gear going uphill. I didn’t appreciate them trying to sell me extra insurance even though I purchased coverage through discovercar. But they weren’t aggressive about it so it wasn’t a bad experience.

Pros: Car was good.

Cons: Alma Car Hire forced me to add a 2nd driver and pay the double of the initial price pretexting that my card is not a credit card. They didn't even try it despite it's working. The reality is that I was with my boyfriend and it seems that I wasn't "masculin enough" to drive a car. As we were stucked in the middle of nowhere, we didn't have the choice to accept the new price because they didn't want to bring us back at the airport close to the other car rental company.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 800.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 23 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 26.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 70.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): Australia, Canada, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, EU countries.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
Cross-border policy
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company.
Details are available from the car rental company's reservation office.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Snow chains.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Certain additional drivers are subject to both an Additional Driver fee as well as either a Young Driver or Senior Driver fee.

Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Additional charges will be applied.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
Winter tires are not mandatory in Greece.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 120 minutes.
