We went to Napoli, Amalficoast and then Matera and the whole coast of Puglia/Apulien, incredible nice places, delicious food, friendly people. Many places are closed though in October already

We drive to massa lubrense and found that the roads are very narrow , some of the times two cars won’t fit and you have to find spots to get out of the way. Italians are used to it. Motorcycles are everywhere.

Pompei was incredible, food amazing and the coast was beautiful!!! But be aware that driving in Naples city and also the Amalfi Coast is not for the faint of heart. In Naples, there's basically no traffic laws or observation of them at least. It's a pure free for all, merging wherever, creating lanes and horns galore. On the coast, while beautiful, the drivers whip around the hairpin turns without regard. Maddening and impressive at the same time. The lanes aren't truly wide enough for a bigger car, and some 2 way roads clearly won't accommodate 2 vehicles, especially if a bus is coming. Turning the van in unscathed was really a victory with the tightness and wild driver.

Stayed with family outside Naples. Visited Capri (blue grotto) Pompei, Naples and Sorrento as well as smaller towns around our families home. We went to Rome before flying home.
