Surprice at Cagliari Airport

Pros: I was highly disappointed with Surprice car rentals. They added a condition to their rental terms requiring that the credit card used for payment must have embedded (raised) numbers. Using this as an excuse, they refused to rent the car to us unless we purchased an expensive additional insurance, despite us already having comprehensive insurance purchased through DiscoverCars. Surprisingly, Surprice had modern payment terminals, making the requirement for raised numbers unnecessary.

Cons: In fact, modern credit cards often no longer have raised numbers since card imprinters are obsolete. My card did have raised numbers, noticeable to the touch, but they claimed they were not raised enough. As a result, we were charged quadruple the rate at the counter and they would not rent the car otherwise. I find this policy and their enforcement of it incredibly unreasonable and am seeking a refund for this unacceptable treatment.

Cons: Even I had the voucher where was indicated that I have the rental agreement with the full coverage, they told me that it is not the case and asked to purchase additional insurance for the 256€ for 5 days to be fully protected against the accidents. This was totally annoying.

Nonsense for a part which I am not sure if already missing at pickup and a thing that costs no more than 50cents... I was not charged at the end of the day having discussed with another agent.

Cons: They did not give me the type of car I requested "a wagon". They told me car full of fuel and was empty. They told me I had to pay 20€ for the cleaning of the car (in advance) or wash myself if returned dirty would be charge more than 20€. They really tried to sell me the insurance when I told them I had bought already the full cover we discover and had a personal insurance too for the car. They didn't tell me that the return car way to parking was a different that the one that airport says.

Pros: There was nothing special what I liked. At the end it is just rent a car. You come, fill in and sign papers, take that car and return it at the end. There is no magic about it.

Cons: To find the office in Cagliari airport was a nightmare, even the person on the phone was not able to explain the way to the desk in proper English. Then we were waiting for the car more than 40 minutes because it was not available on the parking place and some manager was yelling on the phone and trying to sort it out. All the rest was standard ok.

They would rather we purchased insurance with them, rather than online with discovercars.com, but didn't give us too much of a hard time, they did try to sell us additional insurance, even though we'd bought full coverage online.We didn't get the Fiat like we ordered, but the contract does state "or similiar vehicle", the Fiat would have had a more power a think, but it was a nice little car that they rented to us, and we had no issues on the return.

Cons: No realizaron un buen servicio, el coche que nos dieron tenía un código de bloqueo en la radio y navegador, les pedimos que nos dieran el código, jamas nos lo enviaron, se limitaron a decir que el anterior usuario lo rompió. Pedimos una compensación y jamas tuvimos una respuesta. Cuando tú coges el coche se supone que te lo tienen que dar en unas condiciones óptimas y este no era el caso.

Cons: They asked us to clean the car inside and out before return so we went to a car wash and had inside and outside cleaned but then 5 people had to get back in the car to drive to the airport (5 mins) and therefore they said inside of car wasn’t clean and charged us 22 euros. Don’t mind being charged for cleaning but do mind being asked to return it clean and then stating that it’s not clean. Even the operator admitted it was a scam.

We paid £60 for the week for a car seat which was worth about £15 from new! The location needs updating on Google maps and on the email correspondence as the address is wrong

Cons: The transfer was complicated. We had to wait for the 4th transfer bus (approx. 30 mins) even though we were waiting there the whole time. It felt like people were skipping the queue. When we finally got to the rental place, we couldn't find the desk. When we got to the desk, the representative was lovely. When we dropped it off, the representative rushed us and was not very approachable or helpful. The transfer back was ok.

They tried to give us a manual despite ordering automatic and after two hours of them refusing to have automatic cars and being rude and aggressive to the discover car customer service we got a automatic.

Cons: On pickup they tried to charge us extra for a automatic upgrade as they tried to give us a manual, they are very rude and aggressive and the worst people I have ever dealt with. On drop off they will ask you about damage that was already there to try and scam you into fixing it on your insurance. Do not use these horrible, arrogant and downright dodgy people. We cannot express this enough and if you look at other reviews you will save yourself a nightmare.

Cons: it was impossible to call the front desk to organize a shuttle pick up from the airport. We spent 3h calling different non-existing numbers provided by them and at the end paid 17€ to pay the taxi.

Cons: You need to definitely re-think your way of doing a business, you don't have enough people to ensure good quality service, the renting of a small car took 1h40 min and we had 2 peoples in front of us. I dont think this is really acceptable. The car was dirty and the return was non existing as there are not clear signs of where to return the car and no one is on the parking to whom you can handle your car. We were absolutely unsatisfied.

Cons: We couldn't rent the car because, despite we already booked and paid part of the fee for the car the Surprice Agency required a "credit card" only for the guarantee/deposit (no other method accepted). So they canceled our booking, we lost the money and paid THREE TIMES as much the price we planned!
