Pros: Scam

Cons: Avoid. This felt like a scam to me. Hertz charged me €900.for alleged new damage that I strongly dispute. The car already had 21 recorded damages, and I was only provided with a small damage diagram—not the detailed photographic condition report. Hertz initially claimed the photos had been sent to me, later admitted in writing that they had not, but still charged me €900.

Pros: The worst car ever! I’ve fine through hertz thinking it was a serious company but, compared to sixt and europcar, it’s terrible!

Cons: The car Seat covered with stains…outside the car was fully of scratches…and when I was go ing the car back they were pretending that I did a scratch…luckily i had a video proving in had mo fault! (The scratch was already present at pick up . By the way, there were so many scratches that was impossible to check all atnpicknuomtime! Never again with hertz! Fully unsatisfied

Cons: Upon drop off the agent identified a small scratch on the front bumper and I was charged 150 EUR for it. It seemed very strange, as if it was set up in advance. The scratch was extremely small (I unfortunately did not notice it when I was picking up the car) and the agent immediately walked towards it and identified it. I'm now in the process of submitting a claim to the insurance company.

Cons: Despite having purchased insurance from home, we were forced to purchase additional insurance on the car for 246 euros because our visa card was not recognized as a credit card, for payment of basic cover for 10 euros. COMPANY POLICY said the staff.

Pros: Everything went smoothly; the vehicle was thoroughly reviewed when I picked it up and I was shown all the damage it had which was correctly reported on the rental agreement.

Cons: The car I received was full of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Every time I started the vehicle these systems automatically turned on dangerously interfering with the driving. The forward collision system especially decided to brake unexpectedly nearly causing the car behind me to hit us.

Cons: Tried to give me a car with bald tires, when I spoted the issue they still tried to neglect it and give the car. When I refused to take it they could not offer same size car and the only option for me was to take smaller car and exchange for bigger car next day doing double the checking and paperwork. A week has passed and customer service still not responding to my request of refunding the price difference for smaller car they gave me.

An E-toll charge will apply; personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Renters from the following country(ies): China must provide the following documents: Hertz Certification form issued by Hertz China in order to collect the car.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP). For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
Winter tires are not mandatory in Malta.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

If the customer is late for a return for more than 29 minutes, extra day charges will apply, in addition to any other rental charges. The supplier will hold the vehicle for 59 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
