Book Your Rental Car Securely at DiscoverCars.com

Our website has all of the industry-standard security to keep your information private.
Here at DiscoverCars.com, we take the security of your personal information seriously — in fact, it is our largest concern. Below we will detail everything we have implemented to make sure that you can book a rental car without having to worry about personal information being stolen, sold, or misused in any way.
Every step of the booking process is secure
Our website is secured by an industry-standard SSL certificate. This creates a secure HTTPS connection between you and us. It means that any information that you enter on or receive from our website is encrypted — others won't be able to see or steal it.

As HTTPS has become so common, you may not even think about it anymore — and modern browsers have made it less noticeable. However, you can verify that our website (or any website) has a valid SSL by looking for the lock icon in your browser's address bar, and it is still a crucial element to check before entering any personal information.
DiscoverCars.com is also certified secure by TrustedSite. This means we maintain a high level of website safety standards and good business practices. In addition to showing that our website is not on any blacklists for malware or phishing, it also means our website is a McAfee SECURE certified site. McAfee is one of the two most renowned cybersecurity companies, and having earned a McAfee SECURE certification means our website is a site you can trust.
Pay for your booking securely
Our payment page (or section in the mobile app) is secured by the previously mentioned SSL certificate, which has a warranty of $50,000, so you don't have to worry about your payment details being stolen.

We use the latest industry standards for processing payments. This includes only accepting 3D secure payments, popularly known as Visa Secure and Mastercard Identity Check.

For you, this means simply being redirected to your bank during the transaction to authenticate the payment. Whereas in the past you may have had to use a password for this, now you only have to authenticate yourself with a code sent to your phone or biometrically — meaning it takes just seconds. All of this leads to less fraud and a better experience for you, the customer.

DiscoverCars.com is also committed to protecting consumer credit card data in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Our alignment with this standard is reflected in the people, technologies, and processes we employ.

We conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests in accordance with the PCI DSS requirements for our business model. We attest to our PCI compliance annually.

What does all this mean for you, the customer? It means you can trust that our payment process is secure.
Our customers trust us
In fact, more than 25,000 of them have reviewed us on Trustpilot, giving us an average score of 4.5/5 as of May 2021 and putting us in the top 10 of the Car Rental Agency category. Trustpilot ensures that each and every review is left by a genuine customer and is unbiased.
We understand that your privacy is paramount
Per our Privacy Policy, we endeavor to keep your personal data private as much as possible. We do have to share the information you provide with the rental supplier, though, so that they are aware of your booking when you show up to pick up the car. They also may need to contact you and, therefore, need your phone number and email address.

We follow all of the EU regulations relating to privacy. As part of this, you can request that we delete all of your personal data at any time.
We are completely transparent — know what to expect
At DiscoverCars.com, we place emphasis on transparency. We want you to know all that you need to know before booking a rental car. Unlike some other car rental booking platforms, we include all known rental costs in the price shown to you — no surprises! Our Terms and Conditions are available, and we always abide by them — so read them before booking, and what you should expect will be crystal-clear.

We've recently made efforts to remove all fuel policies that we deemed unfair and that cause customers frustration. You can see how large of a deposit you will need to leave in the Rental Conditions, along with all the other information you need to know about the rental supplier's requirements.

And with all of this, if we make a mistake, we'll own up to it. That's transparency and responsibility that you can count on.
