We were competing in waka ama Long Distance Nationals in Whitianga. Even though we had to go the long route around the Coromandel the views are beautiful. Roads good even though still being repaired after recent cyclone!

The Van was efficient and spacious- helped a lot with our travel from Auckland, Matamata, Rotorua, Taupo down to Wellington, with several stops in between each destination. The large windows were great for photos while on the go. New Zealand is such a beautiful country with great scenery! We had chance to savour the snowy mountains of Mt Ruapehu, there were snow on the main highway as well.

Refill fuel outside Auckland to get better rates. The Bluetooth is a bit jerky. There’s no speaker on rear passenger seats. I hired a Toyota Alphard 2019 or newer, its fuel consumption was a lil crazy.

so many places near by to get to. We drove to the Coromandel had loved the beach culture there. Picking up at the airport is very very easy, right near the motorways to go north or south is simple. Make sure you do have sat nav on your phone!
