Picked up rental high pressure to buy their extra insurance the rental was below par no cameras and air conditioning only worked on high too loud so we had to drive with windows open. The language was hard to change the lady helped us at pick up it change it took her 20 minutes. Way 2 Azores not worth it. At drop off I asked for discount for air conditioner issue. He verify was not working and said it was a big problem with this car. No discount given.

Cons: The agent convince me to buy CDW insurance claiming that it was not included in the rental price and without it I would be responsible for any damage costs beyond what I was covered by the insurance that I had purchased from Discovercar.com. It would help if Way2Azores as well as others better described their insurance policies so that costumers could be aware of what to expect at vehicle pickup time which always tends to be a rush.

Pros: Car was a bit rough. Many scratches on it already. The car had zero guts, was manual and had to do the many hills in low gears or car would stall. Giving it gas up a hill, even to the floor just made it go slower. I felt a bit like they gave us one of their crappier cars because we booked through Discover - which meant they didn’t get full amount of $$. Was a bit of a push to buy the $300 euro insurance policy - which we didn’t and were fine. The car was reliable & got us where we needed to be.

Pros: I am very happy with this car rental company.They are located a few minutes from the airport, the price for rent was much cheaper than rent a car at the airport. The paperwork for the car was quick and organized, and when I returned the car, everything was fast and organized.

Cons: This no reflection on Way2. As I had no experience driving the narrow streets in villages all over the island my vehicle choice was a bit large. Next time I would choose a smaller model. You might want to inform new rental guests about how different driving in the Azores is, depending on where they come from.

Pros: The check in process and return process was efficient and reasonable. I had no damage to the car, so Way2Azores returned my $2,200 deposit with no charges.

Cons: The shuttle service to the rental car location was good, except there was no Kiosk or place to wait outside of the airport. We waited at a competitor to get out of the rain while we waited for the shuttle. On the return, the location address did not come up using Google maps and we had to call the agency to have them send a pin location to return the car.

Cons: When we arrived, the 3rd party company you contracted with tried to charge us for "staying late" for our pickup and then aggressively pushed for us to purchase extra insurance that we knew we did not need. We were then rushed out of their parking lot while still trying to figure out how to operate the vehicle.

Pros: Good communication (called ahead on the day of pickup with instructions, responsive to questions via WhatsApp) and a transparent process (car examined together with same agent at pick-up and drop-off, mechanism for cancelling deposit payment explained in detail).

Cons: Deposit is higher than other local agencies (€2000 + €120 fuel deposit). But, otherwise significantly cheaper than the competition.

Cons: Worst car rental ever. Don’t rent there!!!!! We arrived with our 4 young kids at Way 2Azores car rental to pick up our “little” 7 passengers car (Opel Zafira). They told us at it burned and that they could only give us a little bus ( way too big to drive downtown Ponte Delgada). I explain to the lady that we rented an airbnb with inside garage and that I didn’t think it would fit. She insisted that we would have any problems with parking. So we left with the bus…LOT of PROBLEMS with this car.

Pros: Everyone very friendly and efficient. Discover Cars is great on customer service, and we would use Way2Azores again.

Cons: We got the one car that didn't have the fuel sticker on the gas tank cover, so we weren't sure what kind of gas to use. For gas engine, use the green pumps -- which, in the US, are diesel. In the Azores, green is gasoline. Would have been good to know that in advance. Also, it would be helpful to have a sheet of paper that tells what the traffic signs mean. That was also new to a first-time visitor.

Cons: We got a flat tire and we could not change it ourselves because a key tool was missing. For this, we had to wait for the company to bring us the tool and they charged us 370€ for their trip out (if all the tools were with the spare tire we would have been able to change it ourselves instead of waiting for them in the little shoulder of a very busy road). The agents were rude when we pointed out that the missing tool was the company’s fault, and did not want to take responsibility for it.

Cons: I was taken advantage of. They wouldn't use the credit card I reserved the car with. I didn't have another card on me. They wouldn't allow my partner to pay. But they allowed my wife to pay a couple of hundred euros MORE. I feel we were scammed. Also, be warned that the additional insurance requires you to call them in advance if there is any damage, if you don't, even though you paid for coverage, you will be required to pay. Another scam in my opinion. I have never had these experiences.

The car was older 85,000km but everything worked including the Apple Car Play which was a lifesaver on the roads. I highly recommend

Cons: The procedure to rent and return the car is a bit laborious, but in the end, worth it for the good price. From the airport, you have to call them, then wait for the shuttle to take you to the rental place. When you return the car, you do the reverse. It only takes maybe 30 to 45 min. So if your primary concern is ease and convenience you can probably pay more for that. If you want a better price and are willing to spend the time, Way2Azores is well worth it.

Cons: 1) Down payment of $1600 euro, proved very difficult since credit card for designated driver had issues and we couldn't use another credit card under my name. We almost walked away, it took 15min to contact credit card company in Canada at 3am (7am Azores time). 2) The advertisement for car rental stated they were located at the airport terminal, when in fact you needed a shuttle, that was mis-leading advertising. 3) we had to ask a few people where to find way2azores rental desk.

Pros: Super friendly driver for the airport transfers!

Cons: Car had over 100,000 km - which is maybe the norm in the Azores, but felt more like a used car than I’m used to for rentals.

Cons: We were forced to get an insurance because we didn't have a credit card covering the deposit, only a debit card that they don't accept. I realized later that I could had had my wife as a second driver and uss her credit card for the deposit (the card for the deposit and the driver name need to match). That's what they told us to do on the next island, but these people didn't recommend anything and were really pushy to purchase their insurance. My card had his own insurance which cover the same.

I always buy full coverage on rental cars to cover all costs. Your agent didn’t disclose that option. He told me the €35 coverage only covered gasoline deposit. And so I picked the €25 coverage that didn’t cover the tires. I’m very disappointed with your company for doing this scam. I will dispute this €190 charge. You should return €160 to me

Cons: When arriving at the airport for pick up you need to call them and it is not clear where the representative will arrive. Can improve the instructions

Pros: Rental agents were extremely helpful and made the check-in/out process very quick and efficient.

Cons: The van that picks you up at the airport should have a "Way2Azores" sign on the side. There are several rental vans that pick up at the same location and it can be confusing on which one to go to.

Pros: The shuttle service and access to the rental place was easy and convenient.

Cons: I didn't like that I was asked to get another full rental coverage on top of the full rental coverage from DiscoverCars. Either DiscoverCars should rely on Way2Azores to offer rental insurance, or Way2Azores should not push for their insurance if there is already rental insurance on the reservation.

Cons: Due to change in ny flight schedule which I notified you I arrived 3 hours before the schedule time that was 10:00 am. The rental angency charged me 35 euro for the early pick up which didn’t exceed the days that the car was rented for. I checked on your website and the rate is the same for the original schedule and the revised schedule. I am expecting to get this charge back as a refund. Thank you B.T.W the car was returned 2 hours before schedule. Do I get a refund for this.

Cons: The car service was really good and comfortable. But they promise us a ride to the town centre after we returned the car and at the moment they said that it was impossible. So we had to take a taxi that we didn't count with. We meet with another couple later that day and they told us that you guys gave them a ride the same day as we returned the car at the same moment that we were there. That's why the score is not higher.

Pros: The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. The car engine was in great condition, we went all around the island and only filled the gas tank once.

Cons: The lease agreement of the car was provided to me only after I returned the car, they offered more than once the full coverage insurance even though I said I had bought it through Discover cars, after two weeks I am still waiting on the deposit to be released from my credit card.

Once we were there we showed the papers, the confirmation of full insurance coverage by discovercars. They ask us for a credit card for a deposit as the insurance was external. I don’t have a credit card. They told us we can get a refund from DiscoverCars but we actually can’t after pick up.
