Way2Azores Rent at Ponta Delgada Airport

Pros: Very polite and helpful

Cons: Quick and clean

Pros: The service was great. The guys were friendly and kind

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great staff, made things easy

Cons: Nothing really

Cons: Waited at the airport for over .5hr. I had called Numerous time to be picked up with no answer. Was able to ask someone at the airport to give me a ride to pick up the car. I even paid an extra charge to drop off the car where I was stayed I would have a ride.

Pros: You can tell the car had some outter issues scratching and small dents, bit it was a new car

Pros: Rapide, efficace

Cons: Voiture un peu abîmée

Cons: It was a little hard to find to return the car. It would be helpful to be able to return it at the airport.

Pros: All simple. Quick pick up from the airport to the car hire location and return. Good value compared to other companies

Pros: Everything's fine except car engine - very weak for such a hilly island

Pros: Frustrating . Ended up costing me 250$ more that what agreed with Discover cars.

Cons: They didn’t honor the rental conditions with Discovery cars.

Pros: Kindness of assistants

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Ease of picking up the car, car was as described, clean, ease to bring it back

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Forcing to pay extra insurance Cars in bad conditions

Pros: Friendly and efficient

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The professionalism of the employees and the promptness in providing services.

Pros: This is my second car that I’ve rented from them and they already had my information in the system. I didn’t have to do much and they were very helpful

Cons: Way 2 Azore’s rental car is one of the least expensive fastest agencies on the island

Pros: The agents were friendly and gave us helpful tips.

Cons: The car was 7/8 full of gas at pickup. We returned the car with the gas tank 7/8 full, but charged for 1/8 of a tank. The company did not respond to us after we complained. The agent did not send photos to us of the existing damage to the car as promised. We did not like the location which is far from the airport.

Pros: The first car I had had some problem indicated by warning lights. I return to the agency thé next day and they give me another car which was much more bretter.

Pros: Nothing. I never got my car.

Cons: Nothing. There was no way to reach an agent.

Pros: Clear, professional communication, helpful.

Cons: Location off-site from airport

Pros: Super efficient staff

Cons: Nothing to complain about

Pros: The car was OK and renting without problems.

Cons: Absolutely horrible assistance with extraorbitally overpriced service. We got a flat tyre (a smal nail) but there was no spare wheel in the rented car. So we had to call for Way2Azores service. They came to our hotel (28 km form their base), repaired the flat tyre with a piece of rubber in 10 minutes, but charged us 195 Euros (they said it is necesary to pay for 2 new tyres!!!) and 170 euros for their service 28 km away. So we paid 70E for a rent, but 370 Euros for a flat tyre. This is a robbery

Pros: Quick, easy, efficient rental with a speedy shuttle to airport.

Pros: Very Personal

Pros: Front brakes on steel to steel

Pros: Honest with clean cars.

Cons: Confusing pick up at the airport.

Pros: No funcionava el aire del coche

Pros: Everything was so easy and quick. Everyone we interacted was really nice.

Pros: Very friendly and experience staff. I will use them again. Thank you for all your help.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Costumer service Very scratched cars

Pros: Helpful friendly staff

Cons: Drop off location should be at the airport

Pros: Friendly and fast service.

Cons: Mothing

Cons: Online deposit didn't work.

Pros: Getting me in and out very quickly.

Cons: Can't think of anything.

Pros: We had car trouble due less oil.

Cons: The company pressures you to buy their insurance, claiming a €2,120 deposit otherwise. I had Discovery Cars insurance, but after declining theirs, the service became clearly unfriendly and unprofessional.

Pros: Great job! Everything went smoothly..

Pros: Excellent, fast service. Great value for money

Pros: Very close to the airport.

Cons: Windows were really dirty, and the tires were completely more practically bald very dangerous while driving.

Cons: No signs on where to get picked up, no instructions on what the pickup will be like, very disorganized, shuttle driver did not drive safely. Tried calling them for pickup instructions but they didn’t answer the phone

Pros: They did not accept the credit card of my wife neither my corporate card and we were forced to pay 800€ for an additional insurance when we already had to pay > 500€ for the renting. It was the only solution to be the contractor and driver.

Pros: They were very straightforward and honest.

Cons: n/a

Cons: No air conditioning in pickup vehicle. Picked up rental high pressure to buy their extra insurance the rental was below par no cameras and air conditioning only worked on high too loud so we had to drive with windows open. The language was hard to change the lady helped us at pick up it change it took her 20 minutes. Way 2 Azores not worth it. At drop off I asked for discount for air conditioner issue. He verify was not working and said it was a big problem with this car. No discount given.

Pros: Prix, qualité du service

Cons: Pas d'agence à l'aéroport, mais le système de pick up et drop off est rapide et efficace

Cons: The agent convince me to buy CDW insurance claiming that it was not included in the rental price and without it I would be responsible for any damage costs beyond what I was covered by the insurance that I had purchased from Discovercar.com. It would help if Way2Azores as well as others better described their insurance policies so that costumers could be aware of what to expect at vehicle pickup time which always tends to be a rush.

Pros: Car was a bit rough. Many scratches on it already. The car had zero guts, was manual and had to do the many hills in low gears or car would stall. Giving it gas up a hill, even to the floor just made it go slower. I felt a bit like they gave us one of their crappier cars because we booked through Discover - which meant they didn’t get full amount of $$. Was a bit of a push to buy the $300 euro insurance policy - which we didn’t and were fine. The car was reliable & got us where we needed to be.

Cons: Seemed easy - guy at drop off was more friendly than at pick up.

Cons: Airbag disable

Pros: Worst experience. 4 cars in 4 days. The first car with gear problem, the second was smaller , the third with engine problems (immediately switched)

Pros: The pick up was a little tricky. Coming into a country when you don’t have a phone number set up is hard to call them for pick up. However, the shuttle is there quite often.

Cons: A way to connect with them via what’s app or another app would be helpful.

Pros: Agents were helpful, friendly and respectful

Pros: Car was in good but not perfect conditiones.

Cons: Very poorly maintained vehicles. First car clutch was burned out and couldn’t make it an hour down the road without smoking. Second car was slightly better but had no second gear. Third car was drivable.

Pros: Quick pick up and drop off.

Cons: Upselling me insurance that I'm pretty sure I didn't need. The deposit was extremely high.

Pros: Nothing really

Cons: Not friendly or helpful at all. Would not recommend.

Cons: Car had two bald tires including one with a slow leak.

Pros: We will be back .. excellent service

Pros: Easy to deal with and friendly stagf

Cons: Car could’ve been cleaner and remote door opener wasn’t working

Pros: No hassle in or out , friendly agents.

Cons: Need rain shelter at pick up location, we got caught in the rain waiting for a pick up.

Pros: The person i dealt with was very nice and did not try to up-sell me for anything after i showed him the papers for my rental contract.

Cons: There really wasn't any issue but was delayed as 4 planes landed at the same time so they were busy and took a bit of time to conclude the car pickup. You will have to call them to pick you up at the airport as they have no cars at the airport.

Pros: Le service et la rapidité!

Pros: very responsive

Pros: smooth friendly service

Cons: off site pick up. had to wait for a shuttle

Cons: Vehicle with apple carplay would be a big improvement.

Pros: Friendly, economical

Cons: Nothing

Cons: They never answered phone so we couldn’t get a car. We therefore had to find another rental car from a different company (Wayzor) which was quite accommodating

Pros: Det gik stærkt og var super nemt.

Cons: Alt var fint.

Pros: all good

Cons: waiting pickup

Pros: Low cost

Cons: Upsale process, which included an unheard of expectation that with my prebooked low rate i was supposed to clean my own car. Also car had a tail light broken. Uograde options to include insurance were major undisclosed costs. Felt pushy and schemey…maybe not the employees but the process

Pros: They We're very prompt with pickup and drop off.

Cons: Even though they were prompts with pickup, there was omly one gentleman working on processing rentals. So, Even though there were only 4 people in front of us, the wait to pick up our car was over an hour and a half. The gentleman that was working did the best that he could and we appreciated his effort!!

Cons: O ter reservado manual e terem dado, sem outra hipótese um automático

Pros: Friendly staff, esprcially Andrea.

Cons: They are trying to get set up better as they need a bigger sign by their entry to make their shop easier to find

Cons: If booked by discovercars the ask a Juve deposit, more than 2k.

Pros: I am very happy with this car rental company. They are located a few minutes from the airport, the price for rent was much cheaper than rent a car at the airport. The paperwork for the car was quick and organized, and when I returned the car, everything was fast and organized.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Pros: helpful efficient and very informative. great service.

Pros: Agents are friendly.

Cons: They try to sell you more insurance after you have purchased full coverage via Discover car.

Pros: Everything!

Cons: This no reflection on Way2. As I had no experience driving the narrow streets in villages all over the island my vehicle choice was a bit large. Next time I would choose a smaller model. You might want to inform new rental guests about how different driving in the Azores is, depending on where they come from.

Pros: The check in process and return process was efficient and reasonable. I had no damage to the car, so Way2Azores returned my $2,200 deposit with no charges.

Cons: The shuttle service to the rental car location was good, except there was no Kiosk or place to wait outside of the airport. We waited at a competitor to get out of the rain while we waited for the shuttle. On the return, the location address did not come up using Google maps and we had to call the agency to have them send a pin location to return the car.

Cons: Car was beat up and dirty and transmission was horrible. Staff not friendly nor helpful.

Pros: Everything

Cons: nothing

Pros: Gentleman at drop off was very good to deal with.

Cons: A younger women who I was not dealing with was very rude to me when I asked for a different car. The older lady I was dealing with was very polite and helpful.

Pros: Convenience and vehicle quality. Best price with no hidden agendas

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Pros: The drop off process was easy despite some damage to the car

Cons: Disconnect between their pricing and Discovercars pricing for full protection.

Pros: Conseguiram apresentar soluções para os problemas da reserva.

Cons: Nada.

Pros: Very friendly

Cons: Service took photos of the condition of the car and promised to send them by email, but never did.

Pros: I liked the speed of returning the car, no issues.

Cons: The waiting time to be pick-up from the airport and then the time to get the car.

Pros: They accommodated my last minute request. Had a great experience working with them.

Pros: The staff were wonderful and the rates great.

Cons: The pick up in the morning is very delayed (45 minutes) and the phonecall (expensive as it is international) is permanently on hold making us worry something was wrong. There was a further 45 minute wait to be assigned a car.

Pros: Nothing! They gave the impression of crooks smiling assassins.

Cons: Tried to call with a query and they repeatedly put the phone down. Car broke down and took half a day of our seven day holiday to replace it!

Pros: Quick and easy and no fuss about the insurance.

Cons: I wish they had a booth directly at the airport.

Pros: Once we called from the airport for the shuttle , it didn’t take long to pick us up.

Cons: They should have had all the paperwork ready before we arrived, as to avoid the long wait. Only one check in person during popular arrival time.

Cons: When we arrived, the 3rd party company you contracted with tried to charge us for "staying late" for our pickup and then aggressively pushed for us to purchase extra insurance that we knew we did not need. We were then rushed out of their parking lot while still trying to figure out how to operate the vehicle.

Pros: Good communication (called ahead on the day of pickup with instructions, responsive to questions via WhatsApp) and a transparent process (car examined together with same agent at pick-up and drop-off, mechanism for cancelling deposit payment explained in detail).

Cons: Deposit is higher than other local agencies (€2000 + €120 fuel deposit). But, otherwise significantly cheaper than the competition.

Pros: Our car broke down in the country and they immediately sent out a replacement

Cons: Check in a little cumbersome with no rental desk at the airport

Pros: i rented a car and returned it and upon returning it they said there was a scratch on the passenger side mirror. i went back to the car and had a wet napkin and it wiped off clean as new but they said it was damaged when i returned it and even though it came off it was still damaged upon return. and said i should have bought insurance. what a terrible thing to experience

Pros: Friendly and efficient staff.

Cons: I wasn’t expecting to have to take a shuttle from the airport.

Pros: efficiency at drop off

Cons: Tires dont have much profile - safety risk here and the employee just said "its normal, its ok". Car wasnt full and employee told us the needle doesnt go all the way up - i filled up the car and it does go fully up. At least no drama at drop off.

Pros: Very easy to deal with

Cons: Not having service desk at airport and a bit pricey

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Rude - spoke only to my boyfriend (a man) when I was the one who rented the car.

Pros: The car was in good condition and the drop off was very easy and efficient.

Cons: The waiting time at the rental car location was very long.

Cons: Worst value for money of any car rental I've ever done in the dozen nations I've visited.

Pros: Kindness of the agents.

Cons: Insurances conditions: DC proposes a full coverage but probably is better to apply to the full coverage of way2.

Pros: Polite and efficient.

Pros: Very friendly and proper people working there

Cons: Nothing, everything was very progessional

Pros: Kind service

Cons: Far away from airport, shuttle needed, no clear info on where to find desk, hidden cost for check out

Pros: Despite the negative reviews, we took a risk on way2azores and had no real problems. The car was very simple and had many small issues as it was an older model, however it drove well and we had no problem with it. Way2Azores was a good price

Cons: I felt as though if any small thing had gone wrong with the car, it would have lost me my whole deposit (and the car is so old and beat up that I was surprised that it had no issues!!). The rental agents really search the car for any tiny scratch or issue. It was definitely the most thorough inspection of a car I returned that I’ve ever seen

Pros: Great car but pushed to buy the insurance at 25 euros/day as required to provide a 2000 pounds deposit from a credit card (debit card non accepted) otherwise.

Cons: Insurance policy is a tourist trap

Pros: Kind and professional team

Cons: It was pricey but we left it last minute

Cons: Very expensive insurance!

Pros: The had efficient checkin

Cons: No Bluetooth in the car. No flexibility at pickup time. No transfer from the town.

Pros: NOTHING as they interested only for money

Cons: The whole thing is a scam, never return my money back, gave me an unsafe car. I want full reimbursement but of course this is a dream.

Cons: Service slow

Pros: Friendly and Courteos

Pros: Such a smooth process, cars are all newer looking in great condition

Pros: Ottima auto, buon servizio generale

Cons: Non erano chiare le condizioni del noleggio e il metodo di pagamento, la carta di debito non è stata accettata per il deposito e l'assicurazione fatta su questo sito non era valida per cui abbiamo dovuto pagare 100€ in più

Pros: Taxi service included.. friendly

Cons: Nihil

Pros: They are thief’s and liars. They give you broken cars and just don’t care. Don’t rent with Way2Azores.

Cons: Worst car rental ever. Don’t rent there!!!!! We arrived with our 4 young kids at Way 2Azores car rental to pick up our “little” 7 passengers car (Opel Zafira). They told us at it burned and that they could only give us a little bus ( way too big to drive downtown Ponte Delgada). I explain to the lady that we rented an airbnb with inside garage and that I didn’t think it would fit. She insisted that we would have any problems with parking. So we left with the bus…LOT of PROBLEMS with this car.

Pros: Everyone very friendly and efficient. Discover Cars is great on customer service, and we would use Way2Azores again.

Cons: We got the one car that didn't have the fuel sticker on the gas tank cover, so we weren't sure what kind of gas to use. For gas engine, use the green pumps -- which, in the US, are diesel. In the Azores, green is gasoline. Would have been good to know that in advance. Also, it would be helpful to have a sheet of paper that tells what the traffic signs mean. That was also new to a first-time visitor.

Cons: We got a flat tire and we could not change it ourselves because a key tool was missing. For this, we had to wait for the company to bring us the tool and they charged us 370€ for their trip out (if all the tools were with the spare tire we would have been able to change it ourselves instead of waiting for them in the little shoulder of a very busy road). The agents were rude when we pointed out that the missing tool was the company’s fault, and did not want to take responsibility for it.

Pros: car was pretty ok

Cons: there was a major problem with the obstacle detection that nearly caused an very severe accident. when mentioning that to the employee, not a single excuse or sign that it was a concern.

Pros: They picked us up from the airport, showed us the car, it was clean and efficient then we were on our way. Friendly team too

Pros: The staff were very professional and friendly. From the moment I arrived at the airport they came and picked us up within 10 minutes and very quick drop off when i returned the vehicle to make sure we didn’t miss our flight. I can certainly see that customer service is their top priority. Thank you all the guys there for making my trip to Sao Miguel a great one . I will certainly use and recommend Way2Azores Car Rental again 😊🙏

Cons: Nothing, everything was GREAT’nnn

Pros: Very nice people and they provide an excellent service

Cons: Nothing to mention

Pros: Need some one from Discver car to contact me @ gabe7775@msn.com or 17749306903.

Pros: Way2azores muy bien. discovery muy mal.

Pros: Good.

Cons: It wasn’t clear that there was a shuttle service to the rental place. It could have been a big wait and queue.

Pros: Everything was quick, simple and smooth !

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The representatives were very nice and made the process easy.

Pros: Efficiency

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great price and great cars.

Cons: They never answered to phone for airport pickup. Then check in time at the desk really long.

Pros: They were friendly and efficient.

Cons: The car pickup and drop off requires a shuttle van trip. It was not an issue but it’s not the most convenient. If this resulted in the cost savings it’s fair enough.

Pros: Very quick and efficient with the pick up and drop off process.

Cons: The tires were almost bald. I asked for another vehicle and was told there were none. I was stranded on the other side of the island due to rain. It was not safe to drive in the mountains with the rain using bald tires. Damage on vehicles should be repaired if clients pay for the damage they incur.

Pros: The young men that picked us up and dropped us off were exceptional.

Cons: I was taken advantage of. They wouldn't use the credit card I reserved the car with. I didn't have another card on me. They wouldn't allow my partner to pay. But they allowed my wife to pay a couple of hundred euros MORE. I feel we were scammed. Also, be warned that the additional insurance requires you to call them in advance if there is any damage, if you don't, even though you paid for coverage, you will be required to pay. Another scam in my opinion. I have never had these experiences.

Cons: I was told my insurance package was really poor and if something happen with the car I will need to pay a lot. I didn’t want to take chance and I have taken another insurance coverage with the agent. Now I know it wasn’t true. I paid for nothing

Pros: The staff at the office were really fantastic - we had read all sorts of nightmare reviews about price gouging - the pickup and drop off process could not have been easier. The car was older 85,000km but everything worked including the Apple Car Play which was a lifesaver on the roads. I highly recommend

Cons: For the money we paid - I can honestly not complain about anything - we have paid many times more and not received anywhere near as good a service as Way2Azores provided

Pros: Zeer goed.

Cons: Duidelijk en behulpzaam. Geen extra (verborgen) kosten.

Pros: Easy to contact with extensions

Pros: The car worked fine for 13 days.

Cons: Off airport. One rear light out. Ran out of windshield washer.

Pros: Colaboradores muito atenciosos e educados.

Pros: Friendly team and fast pickup

Cons: Didn't liked the extra insurance cost they presented

Pros: Availability and professional service

Pros: Got an automatic!

Cons: We didn't have data to call at airport for pick up. We followed a group, so just lucky.

Pros: Such a bad service

Pros: very fast

Cons: could not pick up car at return location

Pros: Pleasant and courteous staff

Cons: Car windshield washer fluid was empty when we picked it up which was not pleasant when we needed to clear window. Inside of windshield was very dirty making visibility very difficult.

Pros: return process and shuttle were efficient. Vehicle was clean and functioned well.

Cons: Could not reach anyone to ask for airport pick up. Used WhatsApp and called numerous times and no answer. Extremely frustrating. The fact that this rental agency was offsite was not clearly identified when booking. The agent then proceeded to upsell insurance options and advised that a $3000 deposit was required up front when my contract clearly stated $1700. "oops, my bad" was his response. The vehicle itself barely fit our 4 suitcases when we had 5! Again, very frustrating and uncomfortable.

Pros: Support agents were very helpfull to solve any question.

Cons: We had to take an umpredicted shutle to and from the airport.

Pros: Friendly reps, gave clear info.

Cons: No instructions on what to do on arrival. Wish they had said to call for shuttle pickup and told us where to wait for the shuttle. Texted WhatsApp number and never got a response.

Pros: When we had an issue with a tire they were very quick with getting us back on the road.

Cons: We woke to a flat tire the first morning and the spare was low on air.

Pros: Good and friendly service......gracias Ruben !!

Cons: Todo perfecto

Pros: Competitive prices

Cons: They tried to upsell to their insurance which was 3x the cost. The car pick-up inspection was super stressed as they noted every fine scratch and stone chip, even on the underside of the door frame. Making me super nervous that any new fine scratch or stone chip on the lower chip guard would result in an extra charge.

Pros: The car was perfect for our use and well priced. The transfers to and from the airport were great.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Everyone was very kind, all went quickly and smoothly

Cons: Nothing !

Pros: Efficient check in process. No line.

Cons: Left rear passenger door would not release from the inside.

Pros: Location, staff, pricing and car

Cons: Fui prácticamente obrigado a contratar o serviço mais caro, pois eram tantas as condições e exigencias que não tive outra opção. Não correspondeu em nada ao que tinha contratado e senti-me enganado.

Pros: very friendly and helpful people-dedicated to providing good service

Cons: No complaints- both the agent and us took photos of some scrapes and dents on the car which was helpful to compare car condition upon return- no issues

Pros: Great experience!

Pros: Polity and no issues

Pros: Great service

Cons: Nothing

Pros: It was a very easy process and our car was just fine. I recommend small cars for the island.

Cons: When I wanted to extend my rental I had to physically return to the office in order to pay as they were unable to process payment by phone.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Would not recommend this company at all. Cowboys. The car was so old and couldn’t handle the hills on the island. The windscreen was so dirty inside that you couldn’t see out. And the fact that you need a high vis jacket if stopped by the police was not explained. You need to have a phone that can make calls in the Azores to call them once you arrive as well, as they are not waiting for you

Pros: Fast and friendly.

Cons: Their shuttle van was not clearly marked and was hard to find in pick up lot.

Pros: Good service and treated well.

Cons: The car was too small. I could not get in and out of the car easily.

Pros: Pessoal simpático e muito prestável.

Pros: Quick and easy

Cons: Not the vehicle I was expecting

Pros: They speak English and were polite

Pros: The staff were fast, friendly and spoke English very well.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: La facilidad

Cons: Lo que cobran por las averías. Los días de renting a 7 euros, los parados por avería a 70 euros, una forma de financiarse. No comforme

Pros: Flexibility and great staff

Cons: Nothing

Cons: Back tires worn off completely, breaks pulsing, car needed new insurance papers during rental and needed service.

Pros: Everything was great

Cons: Nothing we highly recommend this company

Pros: They listened to me on the phone as soon as I learned of a flight delay. They even followed up with me to confirm whether or not my flight was delayed.

Cons: The car rental company thought I would get a 50% refund. It was not their place to advise me on this.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything

Pros: Great guys.. we needed our car a day early and they had no problem with helping us out. I would rent again. The VW polo was perfect for us. They dealt with us honestly.

Pros: Correct amount of time to pick up & drop off the car.

Cons: We had to pay 20€ for an early drop off (6am) when the office was already open and other clients were there to drop off their cars. That was outrageous after paying a lot more for the insurance and other fees.

Pros: Person with us was very helpful sorting everything out.

Cons: If you book through a third party, make sure you read the small print. E.g. credit card required to be able to make the pick up.

Pros: Quick and efficient

Pros: Very friendly agent picking us up and carrying out the contract business out of hours.

Cons: Car central locking was defective. Car drop off was complicated through very poor instructions. In fact the instructions in the rental agreement were completely misleading.

Pros: Good pricing and friendly staff

Cons: Off airport location and pick-up location was in uncovered airport parking where van would take you to rental location (it was raining while we were waiting)

Pros: Staffs called to follow up on our “No show” due to flight mis-connection on pick up date and informed us their pick up procedures at the airport. Really a surprise for gesture for us. And really helpful to get the local weather and early return. Highly recommended.

Pros: No issues

Cons: No issues

Pros: spolehlivost

Pros: They gave us a wonderful car that handled well for the price

Pros: The gentleman was very helpful

Pros: Friendly staff, other than the boss

Cons: Made to pay $600 for a scuff in spite of paying for the "total coverage" insurance. Intimidated into paying, refused to take me back to the airport until I paid. Car was junk, no wiper fluid, needed new wiper blades, ran badly, trouble starting at one point, remote missing buttons.

Pros: The lady at way2azores was helpful and polite

Cons: I got charged twice for insurance

Cons: the information how find the rentel desk near to airport

Pros: Good price for a decent car.

Cons: The procedure to rent and return the car is a bit laborious, but in the end, worth it for the good price. From the airport, you have to call them, then wait for the shuttle to take you to the rental place. When you return the car, you do the reverse. It only takes maybe 30 to 45 min. So if your primary concern is ease and convenience you can probably pay more for that. If you want a better price and are willing to spend the time, Way2Azores is well worth it.

Cons: No negatives dealing with Way2Azores.

Pros: friendly service

Cons: did not get the same model car I reserved

Pros: Reasonably quick pick up and drop off to the airport.

Cons: Attitude of the agents, absolutely unhelpful in dealing with questions and a "too good to be doing this" approach. They did not provide a car with AC at first (despite clearly shown on the voucher) and were very unpleasant when this was pointed out. Took them 3 tries to find one - trying to get rid of us ASAP. At the end, we settled for a smaller, albeit automatic transmission car - but as far from good service and product as can be.

Pros: Agent was great

Cons: Pick up was unclear and time consuming. Phone number provided was incorrect. MUST use a phone number on WhatsApp so we can call using airport Wi-Fi. We had to trigger roaming to make one call and we had to look up the correct phone number. Pick up information should be as clear and easy as possible since we arrive from a long trip.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: They have cheated us as our credit cards did not work. Which was impossible. Then we are charged 3 days of insurance instead of 2 days. Definetely would not recommend. Ended up paying 5 times more to the car then we booked.

Pros: Car was in good condition

Cons: Only using there rules to get more money out of you instead of trying to think along. We apparently didnt got the right creditcard. But they refused cash. Had to buy a very expensive extra insurance although we allready where insured

Pros: They turned up in time on our arrival

Cons: 3 bald tyres, unclean car. No water in the wiper, car didn't sound in good condition. Tyres were also well under inflated, they also tried to charge us to wash the car due to tar marking from a new road we had crossed.

Pros: quick service

Cons: outside not very clean

Pros: Was given the oldest beat up car that they had a smart car from the 90s with no bells and whistles plus they charged us 20 euros for return early

Cons: The representative was just ok initially rented a larger car but needed a smaller and they claimed the one we got was all that was available We weren’t told about the charge for return early during our initial contact

Pros: The friendliness and efficiency of the staff

Cons: Would prefer to have booth at airport. If you don't have a local phone, it costs for long distance call to get picked up. Maybe a phone connected to office at airport? The price for automatic trani.

Pros: Staff's readiness and efficiency.

Cons: Rental's parking wasn't easy to find on Google Maps.

Pros: Efficiency and provided everything I needed.

Cons: They probably should be more signage around the lot.

Pros: Nothing really, such a pain to reach

Cons: They didn't believe I had a reservation and stopped taking my calls

Pros: Excellent

Cons: Excellent

Pros: On time and friendly

Cons: 1) Down payment of $1600 euro, proved very difficult since credit card for designated driver had issues and we couldn't use another credit card under my name. We almost walked away, it took 15min to contact credit card company in Canada at 3am (7am Azores time). 2) The advertisement for car rental stated they were located at the airport terminal, when in fact you needed a shuttle, that was mis-leading advertising. 3) we had to ask a few people where to find way2azores rental desk.

Pros: Super friendly driver for the airport transfers!

Cons: Car had over 100,000 km - which is maybe the norm in the Azores, but felt more like a used car than I’m used to for rentals.

Cons: We were forced to get an insurance because we didn't have a credit card covering the deposit, only a debit card that they don't accept. I realized later that I could had had my wife as a second driver and uss her credit card for the deposit (the card for the deposit and the driver name need to match). That's what they told us to do on the next island, but these people didn't recommend anything and were really pushy to purchase their insurance. My card had his own insurance which cover the same.

Pros: The price

Cons: Time spent to picking and doping the car

Pros: All representatives were exceptional!!

Pros: The service was fine. Helpful staff.

Cons: Paying twice for insurance. No GPS, even though I was told there was one charging, I offered to pick it up later or charge in car. The pick up was not at airport as booking suggested, had to wait to be shuttled a few minutes away.

Pros: Availability

Cons: Not present at airport, windscreen not clean from inside and having to pay a hefty deposit even though we were insured properly

Pros: Helpful staff and the car was great

Pros: The car was fine and as requested, and the person who picked us up was friendly.

Cons: Communication was the worst I've ever experienced. When we had a problem with the car the roadside assistance number that we called didn't even answer, and Way2Azores staff didn't care at all. Weren't at drop off spot at specified time and we almost missed our flight but were still charged 20 euro for this...

Pros: Very good car and nice people.

Cons: Everything was good.

Pros: Clean car, good costumer service

Cons: It would be more comfortable to pick up the car from the airport. But the shuttle service is very efficient

Cons: Car was gutless going uphill.

Pros: The agents were very friendly and pleasant. Provided great service.

Pros: Location not easy to find to return the car. Not enough staff.

Cons: Had to replace a tire for a charged 560 euros. Tire pressure warning on the moniitor, staff unable to remove. So we drove for 2 weeks not knowing what would happen. Was told by staff it was the make of the car.

Pros: I was scammed and cheated by your company. Your agent hid crucial information from me and I was made to pay €190 for a flat tire. He misled me on purpose. I always buy full coverage on rental cars to cover all costs. Your agent didn’t disclose that option. He told me the €35 coverage only covered gasoline deposit. And so I picked the €25 coverage that didn’t cover the tires. I’m very disappointed with your company for doing this scam. I will dispute this €190 charge. You should return €160 to me

Pros: Very friendly service of the way2azores rental agents and technicians.

Cons: They found a solution for my credit card problem

Pros: Everybody was efficient, polite and friendly

Cons: When arriving at the airport for pick up you need to call them and it is not clear where the representative will arrive. Can improve the instructions

Pros: Rental agents were extremely helpful and made the check-in/out process very quick and efficient.

Cons: The van that picks you up at the airport should have a "Way2Azores" sign on the side. There are several rental vans that pick up at the same location and it can be confusing on which one to go to.

Pros: The shuttle service and access to the rental place was easy and convenient.

Cons: I didn't like that I was asked to get another full rental coverage on top of the full rental coverage from DiscoverCars. Either DiscoverCars should rely on Way2Azores to offer rental insurance, or Way2Azores should not push for their insurance if there is already rental insurance on the reservation.

Cons: We incurred some small damage to the car and Way2Azores charged us a lot of money, claiming that a small scrape was a deep scratch.

Pros: It was an easy process to book. Good value for the money

Cons: Very had to find the rental desk.

Pros: It was a good car

Cons: They we're not able to accept credit Card payment!!! Everywhere else on the island credit Card payments went very smooth. We are convinced way2azores is scam realy thieves. The people before us had the same bad experience.
