Drive on Holidays at Ponta Delgada Airport

Pros: Excellent staff. Courteous and helpful.

Cons: Was a bit confused had to call for shuttle at arrival rather than just expect shuttle to be at airport. But was a late flight so that made sense.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful, despite our issues with pickup. Rest of the rental and return went smoothly.

Cons: Told us 10m for the shuttle to come get us from the airport. When they hadn’t arrived after 35m, we called again and they hadn’t even left yet. Came to get us in “our car” but it was a different car (manual) than we booked (automatic) so we then had to redo check in and get a new car when we got there.

Cons: I was charged extra 300 euros for mechanical breakdown of the car , claiming that I put in wrong gasoline

Pros: Service was very efficient two reps working service desk did not have to wait long 15 minutes tops

Cons: Overall, the car provided was very satisfactory. However, if there was one area, I thought could have been better would have been better. Tires tires were OK, but would not have been satisfactory had encountered lots of rain which I did not.

Pros: Friendly service. Meets you inside the airport when you get off the plane, calls for a shuttle. Once at the store it is very quick service.

Cons: Just that tires aren't covered in their insurance. I am not sure why they aren't. But zero issues overall.

Cons: The insurance was not necessary with discovercars cause the car rental offers an even better one ! So we paid double !

Cons: The info we got via email said someone would meet us at PDL, but we had to walk a short distance and call for a shuttle. We didn't mind the walk - it was just confusing because the written communication didn't match what we actually needed to do upon arrival.

Cons: The only bad part was I needed to change the name on my reservation and because of this, I had to cancel and rebook. When I rebooked, it was much more costly!

Pros: Our flight was delayed past agency’s operational hours but the shuttle bus waited and staff worked over time to complete the transaction without prior notice. There was an extra charge for that(33 euro) but justified. The drop off requires some more scrutiny so be prepared. The staff are overall accommodating and passionate and gave us a ride to the airport directly instead of shuttle due to foul weather perceived.

Cons: The shuttle pick up is P6, almost a short walk with luggage at night. This is due to economical reason and setup of the airport so not exactly agency’s intention. Make sure car condition is checked by yourself as there is a security deposit locked.

Cons: Walking to the shuttle pick up at P6 was not inconvenient for us, but would be on a rainy day.

Cons: 1)The first car provided to me is bad, rubber-burning smell when I drive up the hill. I can't imagine how dare they do the dangerous thing to their customer. 2) I drive back to their office at the first day, and they change another new car but no car-play....

Cons: 1. Pick up spot not clear last over an hour trying to figure out where to go 2. Cleanliness of the vehicle, not 100% windshield, extremely dirty by the inside making it very difficult to see in night conditions. Safety issue here. 3. Wipers not working properly once more safety issue. 4. Was charged for half a tank of gas €110 when getting to Lisbon I picked up a vehicle from this organization with half a tank. This tells me that you are pocketing and double dipping funds from your customers.

Pros: No specific issues. Everything what is normally required, drive license and credit card, if you have it on place, guarantee less than 10 minutes for paperwork.

Overall process took quite a while since many people were running into issues during pick up which was many their fault for not being diligent during booking. Tips from over hearing others: - No AMEX for paying for car during pick up. - There is a high priced deposit if you don’t use their insurance but it is return if car is in good shape. - Know what transmission you booked

Pros: The company drive on holidays they affiliate with charged me 150€ for a small scratch even after I purchased the total relax coverage that supposedly cover scratches. It was wrong and extremely unfair. When I got into contact with Discover Cars regarding this nothing was fixed. Shameful.

Cons: €1300 deposit and not knowing the process in case of a claim. But I understand that this is European “thing”.

Pros: Bad Bad service. Staff without training and social skills. Instead of explaining they provoque friction and conflicts. Thank God one of the ladie colleague knows how to talk to costumers. They used everything to see if they could take us more extra money. First and last time and i will do all i can to spread the word!

Cons: Our time was disrespected by the staff who took 50 minutes to provide us with the car, despite no other customers being present at the time. The staff member prioritized training a new member over attending to our needs, even though we had just finished a tiring 7-hour flight. Additionally, the car provided to us was faulty, with an alarm that went off in the middle of the night. When we requested a replacement, the staff displayed rude behavior yet again.

Cons: Upon return of the car I was threatened to be charged 50€ for cleaning fee. I even washed and cleaned the car the night before, which has never been required for renting a car. Spent the last 30 minutes of my beautiful vacation arguing with the manager about the cleanliness of the car. Miserable end to a beautiful vacation.

Cons: Very unorganized, overpriced, and poor value for the money. They called me the day after I rented the car and told me they had given me the wrong car and I would need to drive across the island and return it. After much back and forth, they finally realized they hadn't made a mistake and left me alone. Very frustrating. They are also INCREDIBLY punctilious about documenting every single scratch on the car before you pick it up -- took a LONG time!
