Pros: They were quick and adaptive in picking us up at the airport, and dropping us off (despite the latter being before their opening hours). The car was clean and tidy, and there were no issues or disagreements concerning the state upon returning.

Cons: In the papers sent to us by DiscoverCars, it was stated that we should find ANC's office in the airport upon landing, after which we would be driven to the main office. ANC doesn't have any office at all in the airport though, which we only found out after walking back and forth several times without finding them. Upon calling them, however, they were friendly, and quickly sent someone to pick us up.

Pros: The staff was extremely welcoming and whiling to provide the outmost professional service. I’m very thankful for how friendly everyone was from the pick up to the drop off. Thank you.

Pros: I was so suspicious of the great deal I got that I also reserved at Hertz, which was over $700, but these guys: $200! I also appreciated that there was no pressure for extras ant pickup and I could fill up with gas at the drop off. They’re next door to a (cheap) gas station.

When I returned the car and explained the situation they did give me another rental but I heard the colleague say in Portuguese that they knew the brakes were bad. They didn’t know I understood the language and so I responded and said why would you guys give me a car knowing the brakes were faulty. The associate “Nuno” said they didn’t think it was that bad. I had to take time out of my trip to get a new car.

Cons: Everything was great other than when arriving at the airport there was nobody in the ANC book to organize our shuttle from the airport to pick up the car. We waited for about 45 minutes before turning on our phone data to make a call to the company. Once we called they sent a driver right away and service from there on was great. Also found the jump in price from standard to automatic to be very surprising.

O casal atrás de nós disse que parecíamos que estávamos num Safari no Quénia ou num Rally no Sri Lanka. Nas curvas acelerava, parecia que íamos fazer a curva a 2 rodas. Péssimo.

Also car should have some local driving info in the car. Example....due to not knowing about parking restrictions in Ponta Delgada, got a 60€ ticket. Go that extra touch for your tourist customers. It gives them more desire to return.

It would be helpful if ANC could notify customers that this could be an issue and suggest that they fill up gas the night before they return the car if they have an early flight

Cons: The car was cobwebby inside and outside (next to the mirror).

Cons: Small complaint, they didn't have my ordered car (or similar) so we were given a much larger one, I was able to exchange it for the car I ordered the next day, a small inconvenience but otherwise great

Pros: They are very helpful and not having to spend ages to pick up and drop off the car made my trip that much more enjoyable. I will definitely recommend and use them again.

Pros: Super friendly, uncomplicated staff, nice drop-off service after giving back the car. Although we didn't have the seemingly mandatory credit card - because 'discover cars' didn't ask for it during booking, they helped us doing a cash deposit.

Cons: there was supposed to be a rep or shuttle waiting when we arrived to take us to the car rental facility, but there wasn't so we needed to find the service desk to ask about a shuttle and then wait for the shuttle to arrive.

Pros: Our flight was changed and arrived 2 hours early. No issues having the car earlier than originally requested

Cons: They look a little to suspicious about how costumers handle the cars

Cons: Only negative, was it took a while to find them initially, but they did the best they could.

Pros: It took us a little while to find a representative. He directed us to his mini van right away and as soon as he realized that he will need to wait for more people he called for another mini van to get us going right away. He was very helpful.

Cons: The rental site was a bit further drive out of airport. We were scheduled to drop rental car off early to catch an early flight out but when we arrived there was no one there at the site and we had to wait for the guy to drive us to airport. We were the last group to board the airplane.

Cons: Car was obviously very used, noisy engine, lots of scratches on exterior, clutch was not working well, sometimes would fail to start. Not what I am used to getting in a rental car.

Pros: The car was clean and generally worked well.

Cons: Finding the agent was confusing. There wasn't a desk or other designation at the airport when we arrived, there are several names attached to the company. We had to ask other rental company agents for this information. Also, we were asked to wash the car before returning it, without any assistance to understand how to work the machine.

Cons: We were asked to pay a euro as the outside of the car was dirty. Not surprising as it had been raining and there is lots of mud on many roads.

Pros: No one was waiting at the airport for us. Had to call repeatedly to get someone to pick us up. Tried to scam us out of money saying car had a “scratch” started at 250 euros and the then took 60euros as we had to leave to catch a flight. We got full insurance and they wouldn’t except that saying we had to file claim ourselves. I would never use this company again.
