RentSmart24 at Venice Airport

Pros: WhatsApp comms and clear location for shuttle pick up.

Cons: Avoid RentSmart24 company. They expect that Customer will clean the car at the end of the rent. It was not written in Contract that I need to clean the car at the end of the rent. Additionally, we didn't eat at all in car neither drink anything other than water. Car was normal use with a bit weather and mud related outside, plus a bit dust on the carpets of the car only. and RentSmart24 charged me fraud for cleaning the car. Frustrating, disappointing, unfair, and one should avoid this company.

Pros: When i arrived i called few times no body pickup the phone no shuttle bus came to get from the airport i had to spend almost £50 to get to the pickup point also i called to let them know i would drop the car a bit later and they still makes me pay more for that. I was travelling with my one-year-old daughter. I paid for a service that is meant to provide a shuttle bus from the airport but I did not receive a shuttle bus on arrival and I confirmed that I would be arriving at 12 am.

Pros: Very bad experience with CarRent24. They are ripoff. Gas tank level senor modify to scam people. Even you full the tank until is overflows, it never registered more than 75%. Then they charge you without giving you any option to prove that the tank is full. Giarda is a very rude and aggressive person.

Cons: They very sneakily tried to charge me extra fuel, even though I had complied with my contract of bringing back the car with the same level of fuel (check the before and after photos). If I were to be charged a penalty, I would have expected to be told about it, especially because I had asked the attendant if everything was all good, to which he responded yes, everything is fine. I was then charged a penalty for fuel. Ridiculous attempt to steal money off the customer.

The 100% amount of the reservation for a multiple-days rental Discover Car gets to keep it, while RentSmart24 forces me to pay one more time for the same car. Just this time - it's three times more expensive. A FRAUD !

I expect that potentially to be even worse during high-peak season There was one customer who took very loong time at the desk and with only one person at the desk that also took a long time before we got our car.

Cons: I rented a car for one week. The first car I was given, I had to return the next day to replace because it was with very low motor oil level and with strange engine noises. They replaced the car and the second one was OK. Lukly, I was still in the vicinities of the RentSmart24 facilities

Cons: The instructions for where to meet the shuttle to the rental location were unclear and we spent about 20 minutes wandering around calling RentSmart24 repeatedly to find it. When we arrived at the rental location we waited about 10 minutes for an agent to show up. I’ve now rented in Italy twice and I don’t understand why they still do everything on paper and why it takes so long (about 15 minutes) to pick up the car when you already have a reservation.

Cons: Rent a Compact Elite SUV, jeep Renegade was advertise or similar. I was expecting a Jeep Renegade, or Jeep Compass, or Volkswagen T-cross. Instead I received an Opel Crossland lower brand, with no 4x4 option and very small motor.

Cons: I used RentSmart24 in Venice Aug 21-28 and they took E453 form my bank account on Aug 29 after they claimed that I damaged the car. I took pictures of minor damage in the company of the rental agent on Aug 21 but he did not did not update the damage report form. They refunded E240 after I showed them my pictures but wouldn't refund the remainder. If I didn't take pictures they would have kept that E240 which shows that they or their agent was aware or should have been aware of that damage.

As International drivers we didn’t know and it would have been helpful to be advised that with lots of driving this come need a top up and the process to follow.

I also had to prompt/remind them that we had requested child seats.

Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICES and IRRESPONSIBLE STAFF. My car's tire had problem during the journey, I contacted both the staff and the road's assistance (at the 2 numbers given on the contract) and the 2 numbers didn't work with non-Italian speakers. The supplier completely abandoned the customer and provided no further support in the emergency situation. The staff was too amateur and didn't even know what to do when the situation happened. There was no extra tire in the back.

Pros: We were a bit worried after reading all the negative reviews (after booking the car). The price was lower than with big brands, but that is very well explainable by off airport location and not big brand name. It was so worth it. Both check in and check out was super smooth and quick. Their staff was super friendly and helpful. The car was as promised and in great condition. I like their fuel policy is same to same. That means you do not to worry about fuel on the way back.

Cons: Nothing really. Possibly arrival instructions could be a bit clearer on where should we wait for the shuttle. Other than this everything was great.

Cons: A lot of additional charges applied, which were not mentioned. The car didn't have carpets, so extra charges were applied for the cleaning. We could avoid these charges. Nothing was mentioned about it during the car rental. Insurance was not included. So, car rental expenses increased twice in comparison to the initial amount. Definitely do not recommend this company: bad service, rude staff, disinformation. The car provided was different then expected.

Cons: The car's fuel wasn't filled to the top ( only had 200km go), which was annoying as on petrol station I was asked by the staff if I want to fill up to the max, I did and returned the car with petrol for extra 300km ( yes, I should have calculated the milage before committing ). Cons: The directions on where to find the shuttle were awful. Imagine flying in and being exhausted from 24 hours of travel. Then you call and someone tells you go to P1 area D. Well unfortunately they didn’t speak English well because they meant exit 1. These are completely different areas of the airport and resulted in my having to walk around exhausted for 2 miles back and forth while pushing a giant bag- resulting in being completely lost and feeling like crying. They need better instructions.
