Cons: Cleanliness of the car. Window on inside was dirty causing difficulties when driving towards the sun. Steering wheel and all touching surfaces had greasy stains. This is nor representable and was resolved by cleaning these surfaces ourselves immediately.

Cons: The staff on the Goldcar desk are only interested in selling you additional insurance, irrespective of whether you need it. This made service very slow - we waited over an hour while 3-4 staff served maybe 6 customers - all of them unhappy. The staff didn't care how long people had to wait for their car. I don't understand why you use such an unprofessional company.

Cons: When purchasing, I was offered a deal to pay around £40 for fully comprehensive insurance, so i took this deal. When I got to the counter to pick up the car, Gold Car said that they do not ever accept this insurance as it’s from a 3rd party company. I was then forced to pay 192 euros there on the spot if I wanted to take the car. So the car price was almost 200 euros more expensive than I was expecting. Really really not impressed because discover cars should not be offering this service.

Cons: The agents tried to force to buy additional insurance, even though I had already full coverage. At collection I found several damages that were not reported. I went back to the desk, they told me to send photos their email. They didn't amend the contract. I've called Goldcar call centre to sort it out, all they could do was to tell me was to contact another email. Pointless. The lack of communication left me nervous until the last day, as I was afraid of having being scammed.

Cons: Poor chap at reception desk. Seemed reluctant to serve me at all. Despite having all my details submitted on line, he then made me fill out a form with the same info. And then, having also seen my driving licence as well, spent ages querying it until eventually admitting that he had entered the number incorrectly. And then tried to push me to upgrade and buy extra insurance. Windscreen washers not adjusted. Windscreen interior smeary. I am not convinced that the fuel tank was full at pick up.

At Pick up I was told the tank was not full, I had to go to the petrol station to add 2.5 ltrs for fuel. The fuel gage in the car has not moved at all, this was them being petty.

The overall rental price was too high considering the rented car, even if we get back full fuel deposit. Based on the internet reviews this is usually not returned back in full.

Cons: At dropping off the car the representative let me wait a long time before inspecting my car to give me the green light and can catch my flight. All other customers left the keys and left, I prefered to wait until someone checks the car to be sure it was all alright. The person told me I had to wait if I want to have my car inspected because he has other 5 or 6 cars to check before my car. But he could in my opinion take my car first, as there were no other customers actually waiting.

Cons: COMPLAIN: the fuel indicator of this car does not indicate precise full. When we make the refill of fuel to FULL, before relaseing the car, imediately after we left the gas station the indicator move a little down. It is the way of this car! Does not show a complete full, but just a little bit less then full. When we give back the car, the rmployee check the car and ask me to sign that all is fine!!! After i receive the deposite and the invoice for fuell missing! This is outrageous!

No number to call, then we were passed around to loads of different people. We just didnt use the car and kept our fingers crossed it would start when we had to go to the airport

I was left high and dry and the staff at Tenerife airport did not care, just said try elsewhere. No problem with Sixtd who were happy to accept it.The whole experience was poor and ended up costing me another £177 extra.

Cons: The staff on reception spent over 10 mins casually chatting to someone and ignored me- in the queue in front. I paid extra cover online while renting the car, to cover more eventualities. Then told at the desk this didn’t cover the excess , which required £1100 deposit (could all be lost dep on cause etc!), or pay an additional£150 non returnable. The car was a class lower than I paid for. But it was late at night, too tired after landing and upset after the wait to go back and argue about it.

Cons: Taking a deposit for petrol and potential damage from my credit card is unacceptable. Normally in hotels a car agencies around the world taking the card details is sufficient. With exchange rates and credit card transaction charges from euros to pounds and then the reverse of the transaction even with a full refund cost me over £90 in charges making the rental cost overall to be poor value for money. I will not be using this service nor company ever again.

After checking 3 cars found the right tool. 3) I called to ask if I could trade car in TFN, they aid of course, no need to reserve a car they always have cars. Of course they had no cars, so I drove back to TFS to trade car. 4) Traded car for 1 with 2 bald tires 5) Traded for another with bad brakes again......

Cons: Battery car key was low, we had to go back and get the battery replaced. Also, one of the car tyres was low after 1 day, we had to inflate that in a gaz station. Both items could have been handled by the car rental upfront.

When i arrived there were only 3 people before me and they knew it was my turn next but they made me get a ticket by which time another 5 people had got them before me They take an age processing each customer because they try to push you into taking their insurance. Other people thought they had been cheated. A disgraceful company. Don't use!

Cons: We got an upgrade for 70€ more from the original price and we got a car that could barely get to 100km/h on the high way. Everything was good with the car rental agency however the car was not worth the price of an upgrade especially.

I've been driving for more than 30 years and it's ridiculous that I was charged the extra money. They then gave me a card in our condition. Very noisy tyres and strange rattles on less smooth roads, very disconcerting. I have a noisy car at home so my expectations werent overly high. But for the price I'd expect better.

They demanded some 150 EUR of added "super insurance" not to pay deposit. Thanks to DiscoverCars notice I rejected over insurance and save that money. Cons: The car was pretty old by rental standards, had almost 80k km on odometer (massive number for a small island), was a bit rattly and very beat up cosmetically. Coolant fluid warning kept popping up as well all the time. We ordered a kid's seat and while I didn't expect them to install it, it would have been nice as it was pitch black and every seat is a pia to install, especially with an annoyed half asleep child on our hands.

Cons: The price you get on the internet is not the same as you end up paying. Read the fineprint. It says you need to use a creditcard to deposit 1100 euro (!), - a VISA wont work! And they know people dont usually have creditcards, so once youre there, they demand you for 185 euro for insurance if you dont have a creditcard. Its not an exception this is their system, you could very much tell from the unsynpathic cashiers behaviour. So, from 1700 sek til almost 4000 sek. Not worth it!

Cons: The car park at Tenerife Sur is quite dark when collecting a car in the evening (something that affects all car rental companies). Perhaps Goldcar can provide a couple of well lit bays where customers can take a good look at the rental car and take pictures before driving off.

We drove the car to the hotel and parked it in the secure hotel car park for the whole time of our holiday. We never left the hotel because we were very ill. We then drove the car back to the airport. At no point was there any accident. You should never use this company. I will be reporting them to the consumer watchdogs.

Pros: I have used your firm a number of times and generally find the staff helpful and friendly and all of the hire companies tend to have similar faults in terms of time taken on the selling of extras.

The state of the car rented - lots of scratches and marks which needed to be recorded by torchlight before driving away - this makes you nervous about returning the car as you are unsure about the policy of any further marks not noticed at the time.

Cons: Took over 45 minutes to collect paperwork for car. Was given a completely clear damage sheet and told I would have to come back to the desk if I found any damage. Ordered a Fiat 500 and was given a Dacia Sandero as an “upgrade” as none were available. Just because a car is bigger does not mean it is an upgrade, the car was basic and underpowered. Car had a number of significant areas of damage that, if I had not have brought to the attention of Goldcar, would have no doubt been charged for.

Cons: The pick up office in the car park was staffed by people who I can only describe as ignorant and arrogant. On arrival I was told "wait outside your car will be here in 10 minutes". We duly waited half an hour before I went back into the office and was told "your car wil be fifteen minutes". When I pointed out he'd said ten minutes half an hour ago he glared at me and dismissed me with a wave of his hand. The car turned up around twenty minutes after so we had waited almost an hour. Unacceptable!

Rental Conditions
Please check the Rental Conditions for each vehicle prior to booking as some conditions, particularly the deposit and deductible, may vary based on the class of vehicle.
The cost of the fuel can range from 67 EUR to 212 EUR.
For rentals lasting 1 to 3 days, mileage is limited to 350 km per day.
For rentals lasting 4 to 6 days, mileage is limited to 250 km per day.
For rentals lasting 7 to 14 days, mileage is limited to 150 km per day.
For rentals of 15 days or more, mileage is limited to 100 km per day.
Mileage is limited, there will be a surcharge for each additional km. To access unlimited mileage, the customer can purchase an Additional Mileage option for an extra fee. The amount of this fee depends on the vehicle group.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
A novice driver fee will apply to drivers who have held their driver license for less than 4 years.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP). A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card. If the customer takes the following extra equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
It is possible to leave the deposit only with following methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card.
All credit cards must be capable of the following: CHIP verification, PIN verification, Embossed; cards without this capability will not be accepted.
The daily limit on the card used for payment must be high enough to cover the deposit. Otherwise, purchase of the following insurance policy(ies): Super Relax Cover is mandatory.
The main driver's full first and last name must be on the credit card without abbreviations.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
From Spain, only travel to Andorra, France is allowed, when the vehicle has been picked up at any of the following offices: Bilbao, Santander, Oviedo, Barcelona, Reus, Gerona, Pamplona. From Spain, only travel to Portugal, Gibraltar is allowed, when the vehicle has been picked up at any of the following offices: Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, Almeria, Jerez, Sancti Petri.
From Spain, only travel to Portugal is allowed, when the vehicle has been picked up at any of the following offices: Gibraltar.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
