Cons: We got an upgrade for 70€ more from the original price and we got a car that could barely get to 100km/h on the high way. Everything was good with the car rental agency however the car was not worth the price of an upgrade especially.
Pros: I was charged an extra 40 euros for being a "new driver" because they wouldn't take my US license. I've been driving for more than 30 years and it's ridiculous that I was charged the extra money. They then gave me a card in our condition. The windscreen fluid was put and I needed to manual clean the windows daily. Very bad experience with Goldcar and will never use them again.

Cons: Very rushed, no one was there to hand over the car. Didn't like being given a map and go get your car approach. Car had lots of cosmetic damage. The Drivers drive like idiots in the car park. Car park was confusing needs better signs but again could have been told by an Agent when picking up the car.. Everything felt like bottom line focus not customer service

Cons: The uncertainty of whether I was actually covered as Goldcar told me I was totally repsonsible in an emergency.
Cons: Hidden costs/ inappropriate selling quadrupled the price originally agreed. Oil light and warnings came on causing more stress. Very noisy tyres and strange rattles on less smooth roads, very disconcerting. I have a noisy car at home so my expectations werent overly high. But for the price I'd expect better.
Cons: The vehicle had significant damage to the front bumper which made me nervous about taking it and then handing it back. The check-in desk assistant was insisting I took out additional insurance with them despite me having full cover with discover cars.
Pros: Car was in perfect technical condition (engine, brakes, axles, shock-absorbers, steering, geometry) despite some 70 000 kms. Very fast hand-over, polite and effective personnel.
Cons: Extremely high deposit of 1100 EUR for car and 150 EUR for petrol. Full tank of this car 50 EUR. I am "old driver" with 30+ years driving and also have payed for full CDW. They demanded some 150 EUR of added "super insurance" not to pay deposit. Thanks to DiscoverCars notice I rejected over insurance and save that money. Car had number of scratches and other small defects, but fortunatelly technically was perfect.

Pros: Fairly quick turnover, easy to find the booth and the parking. Agent wasn't pushy with insurances. There car was fairly clean sans a few fried bugs here and there.
Cons: The car was pretty old by rental standards, had almost 80k km on odometer (massive number for a small island), was a bit rattly and very beat up cosmetically. Coolant fluid warning kept popping up as well all the time. We ordered a kid's seat and while I didn't expect them to install it, it would have been nice as it was pitch black and every seat is a pia to install, especially with an annoyed half asleep child on our hands.

Cons: The price you get on the internet is not the same as you end up paying. Read the fineprint. It says you need to use a creditcard to deposit 1100 euro (!), - a VISA wont work! And they know people dont usually have creditcards, so once youre there, they demand you for 185 euro for insurance if you dont have a creditcard. Its not an exception this is their system, you could very much tell from the unsynpathic cashiers behaviour. So, from 1700 sek til almost 4000 sek. Not worth it!

Cons: Waited 45 minutes to be served even though there was 2 people serving. Tried to upsell me insurance even though I was fully insured. Car had extensive damage all over and had not been valeted.
Cons: Dirty car with low keycard battery level - had to make extra journey to rental office (costing me 2 hrs and gasoline worth some 15 €). Indifferent service attitude in overall. Would definitely not recommend Goldcar's services.

Cons: The car park at Tenerife Sur is quite dark when collecting a car in the evening (something that affects all car rental companies). Perhaps Goldcar can provide a couple of well lit bays where customers can take a good look at the rental car and take pictures before driving off.
Cons: The car was dirty (inside and outside) and full of scratches. The personal was not what I should callfriendly and helpfull. Their main interest was to sell a more expensive car and extra insurrances.

Cons: They said there had been an accident on the car which is complete fabrication. They are involved insurance fraud. We drove the car to the hotel and parked it in the secure hotel car park for the whole time of our holiday. We never left the hotel because we were very ill. We then drove the car back to the airport. At no point was there any accident. You should never use this company. I will be reporting them to the consumer watchdogs.

Cons: It should be made before booking that there will be a massive deposit of over €1000 if you don't take the full comprehensive cover. My rental doubled as a result and I probably would not have chosen Goldcar if I had known this from the outset. It wasn't very good value for money when this was added in. Also, it was very difficult to find the correct entrance for the car return.

Cons: I was either lied to about my deposit or the details on my confirmation email were wrong. The car was absolutely covered in scratches and I was asked to sign for the condition of the car before I'd even seen it. The seats were stained, and there was no screenwash. I was told when I dropped the car off I would receive my fuel deposit back in less than 24h, days later nothing has turned up.
Cons: No service - Goldcar wouldn’t accept my credit car, couldn’t process it manually, wouldn’t then accept Amex, and wouldn’t accept ApplePay. Complete waste of money and time. Would’ve been so much simpler if Amex/ApplePay would’ve been taken.

Customers waiting in the queue were very frustrated. This was a big inconvenience especially when we had travelled with two car seats. We had to cancel plans during our trip due to having no car. We should be compensated or at the very least given our deposit back.

She was pushing with her contract so aggressively that I couldn't even talk so I simply let that 80euro and walked away to the EuroCars and rented there with no problem. I will infome all my friends who travel to stear away from diacovery cars and will hopefully soon be able to talk to my lawyer about putting this on the court as Discover cars did not even repl to my problem

Pros: I have used your firm a number of times and generally find the staff helpful and friendly and all of the hire companies tend to have similar faults in terms of time taken on the selling of extras.
Cons: Quite a long walk from the terminal and a hard job pushing a loaded trolley up the hill to get to your office. A little too much time spent actually getting the car. The full insurance cover was expensive costing 150% more than the hire of the car.

Cons: Picking up the car was a nightmare. After 20 minutes, the queue had not moved and it took nearly an hour. Also, unfortunately I had not noticed you had put the pick-up time as 10.00. It should have been 20.00. As a result my reservation was cancelled and I had to pay a further 70 euros for a larger car which I did not want. It was the only one they had. Please refund me the 70 euros immediately. Thank you.
Pros: The attendant was very helpful in making us understand the terms of Goldcar's contract. She was patient and thorough, sometimes seeking assistance from peers who were very helpful. Good team approach.

Cons: The hard sell for waiver insurance, and the insistence that it will cost you over £1000 if damage is recorded. The state of the car rented - lots of scratches and marks which needed to be recorded by torchlight before driving away - this makes you nervous about returning the car as you are unsure about the policy of any further marks not noticed at the time.
Pros: Checking the car back in was quick and painless, thanks to ensuring the damage sheet was completed before taking the car away.
Cons: Took over 45 minutes to collect paperwork for car. Was given a completely clear damage sheet and told I would have to come back to the desk if I found any damage. Ordered a Fiat 500 and was given a Dacia Sandero as an “upgrade” as none were available. Just because a car is bigger does not mean it is an upgrade, the car was basic and underpowered. Car had a number of significant areas of damage that, if I had not have brought to the attention of Goldcar, would have no doubt been charged for.
Pros: I was charged a Young Driver fee, even though i am 61 and have been driving since i was 16. NOWHERE did it say i needed proof if when i started driving, and i wouldnt have it anyway. Our U.S. licenses state when we RENEWED them, not when we first got them! The Goldcar agent was not helpful at all, nor was their customer service.
Cons: The additional hidden pointless charges for the “flexi-full” which is more expensive than the actual car rental price. Neglecting the fact we had full coverage (provided by discovery car) And trying to sell us again a full cover insurance for 100gbp....

Cons: dishonest, hidden fees, poor customer service, and they charged our card an additional 150 euros for deep cleaning the inside of the car after we dropped it off and the worker had checked it off and signed our contract. NOTHING in the contract states that this is a possible charge and they wrongfully used our card on file without contacting us.

Pros: I thought the front desk service was second to none, very efficient and friendly. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the pick up office in the car park.
Cons: The pick up office in the car park was staffed by people who I can only describe as ignorant and arrogant. On arrival I was told "wait outside your car will be here in 10 minutes". We duly waited half an hour before I went back into the office and was told "your car wil be fifteen minutes". When I pointed out he'd said ten minutes half an hour ago he glared at me and dismissed me with a wave of his hand. The car turned up around twenty minutes after so we had waited almost an hour. Unacceptable!
