Pros: Quick and friendly

Cons: The car we got Citroen C3 was pretty used up and we ended with a puncture on tires with almost no tread. Secondary insurance (Revolut) covered it, so no big deal, but the replacement car we got (VW Polo) was equally beaten and high mileage. It didn't even have rear parking sensors and the AC had a bad smell too.

Cons: The first car was I nearly lost control due to an electrical issue. Once it was parked it was completely dead, all on the first 3 hours of getting the car. The second car was a bit better, but had many dents, broken bits and scratches on the bodywork. I went to use the screen wash and it was completely empty, then I noticed the coolant was below the minimum. I was wondering why the car was getting pretty hot quickly. Also the clutch must be on it's way out as the bit point was really high.

I ended up paying 3 times what i was quoted initially because they would not accept my credit card because it was on my phone and i dont have a physical TERRIBLE SERVICE. I will not use you again

She offered of course full coverage but told that was going to be 104 in total not additional to the initial price. Very unfair. My fault that i signed the contract and paid without paying attention but we had been lining up for 1.5 hours and we ended up getting out of there after 9.30pm.

Then a half Mike walk uphill to the car rental place, to pick up a battered, scratched dented car that was not full of fuel indicated, tried to complain they disagreed with everything I said really bad attitude. The car brakes rubbed and grated the whole holiday the oil light kept coming on everytime we went up hill. Just as bad when dropping thw car off, shocking waste of time and money.

As the car was clearly not safe to drive we had to return the car. The change of car took nearly two hours to complete. The replacement car was not much better with a large gouge in the wall of the tyre which we noticed when we got back to the hotel.

I called DiscoverCars support, got back to the queue and they solved all issues magically. No explanation or apologies from the agent, they literally throwed out the keys and docs. When I got to the car, it was not clean and only a half of the damage was recorded in the doc. So it took me another round to make pictures and get the doc sorted. 1.5h all together.

When I got to the counter to pick up the car, Gold Car said that they do not ever accept this insurance as it’s from a 3rd party company. I was then forced to pay 192 euros there on the spot if I wanted to take the car. So the car price was almost 200 euros more expensive than I was expecting. Really really not impressed because discover cars should not be offering this service.

The car was a class lower than I paid for. But it was late at night, too tired after landing and upset after the wait to go back and argue about it.

Cons: Taking a deposit for petrol and potential damage from my credit card is unacceptable. Normally in hotels a car agencies around the world taking the card details is sufficient. With exchange rates and credit card transaction charges from euros to pounds and then the reverse of the transaction even with a full refund cost me over £90 in charges making the rental cost overall to be poor value for money. I will not be using this service nor company ever again.

Of course they had no cars, so I drove back to TFS to trade car. 4) Traded car for 1 with 2 bald tires 5) Traded for another with bad brakes again......

Cons: Battery car key was low, we had to go back and get the battery replaced. Also, one of the car tyres was low after 1 day, we had to inflate that in a gaz station. Both items could have been handled by the car rental upfront.

Cons: It took nearly 2 hours to get the car. There is a confusing sign on the window re taking a ticket, which appears related to their key and go scheme. When i arrived there were only 3 people before me and they knew it was my turn next but they made me get a ticket by which time another 5 people had got them before me They take an age processing each customer because they try to push you into taking their insurance. Other people thought they had been cheated. A disgraceful company. Don't use!

Cons: We got an upgrade for 70€ more from the original price and we got a car that could barely get to 100km/h on the high way. Everything was good with the car rental agency however the car was not worth the price of an upgrade especially.

Pros: I was charged an extra 40 euros for being a "new driver" because they wouldn't take my US license. I've been driving for more than 30 years and it's ridiculous that I was charged the extra money. They then gave me a card in our condition. The windscreen fluid was put and I needed to manual clean the windows daily. Very bad experience with Goldcar and will never use them again.

Pros: Fairly quick turnover, easy to find the booth and the parking. Agent wasn't pushy with insurances. There car was fairly clean sans a few fried bugs here and there.

Cons: The car was pretty old by rental standards, had almost 80k km on odometer (massive number for a small island), was a bit rattly and very beat up cosmetically. Coolant fluid warning kept popping up as well all the time. We ordered a kid's seat and while I didn't expect them to install it, it would have been nice as it was pitch black and every seat is a pia to install, especially with an annoyed half asleep child on our hands.

Cons: The price you get on the internet is not the same as you end up paying. Read the fineprint. It says you need to use a creditcard to deposit 1100 euro (!), - a VISA wont work! And they know people dont usually have creditcards, so once youre there, they demand you for 185 euro for insurance if you dont have a creditcard. Its not an exception this is their system, you could very much tell from the unsynpathic cashiers behaviour. So, from 1700 sek til almost 4000 sek. Not worth it!

Cons: The car park at Tenerife Sur is quite dark when collecting a car in the evening (something that affects all car rental companies). Perhaps Goldcar can provide a couple of well lit bays where customers can take a good look at the rental car and take pictures before driving off.
