Cons: Pressure from Goldcar to take out their extra insurance. Although damaged areas highlighted in the paperwork was shown to us as we picked up the paperwork, it was only after we had picked up the car and driven off when electronic paperwork came through telling us to report any other damage to the car before we left the airport, I had taken photographs of the car just in case Goldcar said anything about something that wasn’t shown on the original document.

Pros: The check-in and check-out was very smooth. The car was well functioning.

Cons: The staff didn't care to explain anything about how to check the car. Luckily, no complains were made at the checkout. I would recommend to make sure to read all the documents very carefuly and follow them to the letter to avoid any disappointment and stress during the hand-off.

Cons: Even being able to speak Spanish they weren’t very helpful or forthcoming on collecting keys. More interested in taking the security deposit from me and staring deadpan into their computer screen.

Pros: Perfect location - inside baggage hall. I was able to complete paperwork while my husband waited for our luggage

Cons: Car wasn't one I was expecting, personal preference I guess. Relatively clean inside, had to take prior damage photos in the dark at pick-up. Was no water in windscreen and had to stop at garage in night to fill. Tyres were also bit more deflated than would like and there was quite a rattle from engine. That said, Tenerife is challenging driving so gear changes continuously could account for rough engine sooner than normal.

Pros: The desk was easy to find and the car was in decent condition with only minor exterior damage and no problems during rental period with the cars running.

Cons: When visiting the rental desk on arrival the clerk was very pushy, trying to sell extra insurance that was not needed, this was explained to me when I initially booked the rental car. Clearly the clerks are paid a commission when they convince anyone to buy this scam insurance. This left a bad feeling over the entire first day of our trip and has put me off renting a car from here again.

Cons: The car was badly scuffed. So many it was difficult to identify and photo each mark. The bright sun made it difficult to photo, too much glare.

Pros: Very cheap. The whole car hire and petrol for the week came to about £80. This was amazing for the activities we were able to do and we pretty much drove the entire island.

Cons: The person I got the car with was chatting to his colleagues so we had to wait about 10 minutes unnecessarily, we then had to go to another place to get it and was given the wrong key. But this was sorted very quickly and all in all, didn't take too long.

Cons: When picking up the car, the most obvious damage on the car was not indicated/ marked on the pickup document. Only I checked the car thoroughly, I might have been caught for the damage bill!

Cons: The staff were rude, and decided if you spoke Spanish then you could jump the queue. The deposit for the car is 1400 and it actually takes a payment for that amount rather than giving credit card details and withholding the payment. Also you are not insured when you go to pick the car up. They add on another few hundred euros. I walked away as I may as well have just brought a car for what they wanted me to hand over. Never again.

Cons: Unfortunately this was Tenerife, and the car was covered in a fine dust when I collected it. At first I thought it wasn't cleaned, but looking at other vehicles and other hirers vehicles, they too were covered in fine dust. The desk tried to sell me a mega expensive total cover policy, but we had already bought one through the Goldcar website, which was a fraction of the cost.

Pros: Agents spoke English which was really useful! Most of the information was outlined when I booked it online so there was no need for lengthy conversations with agents. Drop off was really easy clearly signed when arriving back at airport great value for money €55 for 6 days car hire.

Cons: Car was scratched up quite a bit which made us a little nervous we would incurr additoonal charges but it still drove nicely and no issues at all.
