Pros: Quick, easy, efficient. Great service agents!
Cons: The address on the printed documents that you leave with you in the car didn't have an address for the location where it was picked up, so it was unclear at first where to return it. The information was sent via email but felt it could also be on the printed receipt along with their contact phone number which was there.

Pros: The agent in Cancun was very nice - spoke English and went through the process with ease. I did my research online and knew of the very expensive mandatory LIABILITY insurance that they will make us buy. As another reviewer stated , whatever you think your daily cost will be in your car rental , quadruple that and that’s the true cost . With that info I was prepared when I saw the price. All the staff were nice and even upgraded my car for free .
Cons: The service was great I have nothing negative to say. The staff were amazing, drop off was easy- shuttle to the airport included - nothing bad to say to be honest!

Pros: The representative told us that the insurance bought online was not sufficient to rent the car and that we would need to contact the insurance company before signing the contract to cancel the $62 insurance and purchase over $250 of insurance.
Cons: They didn't seem to care at all that their practices are misleading and gave us a car that had a check engine light on with a transmission problem. Nobody seemed to care about that either and said the car was fine to drive
Pros: Nothing - old beater car covered in dents with wheel alignment so bad! Forced to get insurance I didn’t want or need because I couldn’t put a 12,000 dollar hold on my credit card
Pros: The car condition was pathetic. The car scratched and dented everywhere with very poor hygiene. It was missing the front number plate. When asked they said it does not matter in Mexico. But I was pulled over was police at several places and harassed for that although they did not take any extra money when I explained that it was a rental car. But the harassment was stressful in a new country.
Cons: There is nothing to like about economy cars. They charged extra for insurance which I had already paid online. But they said they do not accept that insurance as that has no coverage and was sold fake by discover cars. They provided a pathetic car which was dented and scratched. AC did not work. No front number plate. Overall a very bad experience with Discover Cars & Economy Cars. Please refrain from booking online.

Pros: Nothing - a total scam
Cons: I arrived at the Cancun airport, and there was no DiscoverCars.com. My wifi would not work to find, call, or map to them. I had to book a last-minute Hertz for more money. When I reached out to them after, they barely understood the situation and charged me for the days anyhow and claimed no ownership for saying they were at the airport when they were not. It was a horrible experience, and I am not done going after them for my money. TOTAL SCAM!!!

Cons: Educate yourself on what insurance you need and don’t need. We were pretty taken aback by the timeshare salesman they actually make you talk to before you drive away in your car. That was an unpleasant surprise.

Cons: Economy told me that I needed to speak with their "colleague" before getting my keys. That "colleague" manipulated me into attending a vacation club presentation without being transparent about it.

Cons: I was never given a license plate, just a sticker in the back window. I asked why and the clerk said I didn’t need it and the sticker was fine. Once I returned the car, they charged me $300 for not having the license plate, even though I was never given one. The clerk would not reason with me as to why I would steal a Mexican license plate. He also wouldn’t let me speak to the manager or give me their phone number. They didn’t let us on the shuttle to the airport and had to call an Uber.
Pros: Forced me to purchase more insurance, gave me a banged up car with less than 1/4 tank of fuel, dirty. Charged me much more than price agreed upon

Cons: The roads coming back to return car are a complete stressful disaster. If you miss your exit you will be funneled into the city and its maze of side streets and traffic. You need to make clear where the exit is preferably with photos and map

Pros: First off, the website it NOT to rent an actual car, I didn’t find that out till I landed in Mexico with no representative to greet us, i had to call multiple times for ONE HOUR to get any information in what the deal was with the “car” I supposedly rented. I was then told that they didn’t open till 10am, we landed at 6:30am, and I had to wait for them to get in to come pick us up and take us almost 20 mins away to a piece of shit car rental place off of the highway.
Cons: Once we arrived to the place, we were told that what I purchased was NOT a rental car but merely some insurance and that I need to pay MORE for the piece of shit car that they had available for us. Being tired, hungry and in a strange land we took the POS car. We purchased whatever EXTRA insurance they now told us that we needed on top of the OTHER insurance that I didn’t know I was buying on line to even get the car to only upon return be told that there was now some mysterious hole in the tire

Pros: Pick up took forever then once we finally got to the office, the car wasn’t what we reserved, we were told we had to pay extra for all these extra insurances even though our personal insurance would cover the car but we were so far away from anywhere and no way to leave to another company we were forced to continue with them. Then our credit card number was stolen. We only used it there and someone made additional charges on it that were not ours.
Cons: Bait and switch. The final price was 3 times the amount quoted. We are expecting a refund
Cons: The process to get the car was extremely long and drawn out. The car stopped working and it was nearly impossible to contact the company as their customer service contact was not in service. Once they were contacted they claimed that the only way to provide service was if we paid more. Once they finally came to fix the vehicle they recognized it was something wrong with the car. We were without a vehicle for 3 of the 6 days and were not compensated.
Cons: They up-charged me. Per Discover Cars, I was supposed to only pay about $20 USD at the kiosk. It ended up being $90. They also tried to raise the deposit by $3k.

Pros: These criminals should be reported to the government. They quadrupled the cost of the rental when they had a captive audience off-site after I was told my original amount was all-inclusive. I was then abused by a very nasty tour-pusher when I politely declined his products. Truly terrible people.

Cons: When we went to pick up the car they forced us to purchase an insurance they provide to be able to drive in Mexico even though I already had with my credit card. The insurance ended up costing us 3 times the price of the actually car rental. Only got the car because we were under the impression it was cheaper than cabs. Then they wanted a 5000$ down deposit for the rental which I couldn’t put on my visa because my limit doesn’t go that high, so instead they charged me more fees. Heads up!

It was impossible to find and took 45 minutes of driving around in a taxi as it is not actually at the airport and no one knew where it was. They then refused to accept my insurance and scammed me for almost 500 dollars worth of insurance and a deposit of the entire value of the car before I could rent.

Cons: No communication between discover cars and actual agency providing the car. The car was not available as advertised on the airport. A shuttle was necessary to be taken to it and we were responsible for contacting the agency and waiting for the car. This process took almost 2 hours! Returning the car also took approximately one hour. That part of the experience was terrible!

Cons: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY There is a hidden insurance fee that they are not listing in the booking site. That you will end up to pay more for your rental. When arrive at the airport, they will drive you to their office and you are literally "locked in", even the agent told me that I can cancel my booking, and then I have to find my own way to find another car rental or go to the city. I can find a much cheaper option with a more transparent policy and truly helpful customer service.

Cons: The guy at the counter said that there is other mandatory insurance which is needed and gave me 2 options: 1. US$32 per day and $9000 deposit – for mandatory coverage 2. US$53 per day and $500 deposit – for full coverage At this point they have you in a corner both options are bad and there is nothing you can do. I took the full option as I did not want to put $9000 deposit on my CC. It was like dealing with a bunch of thugs and not a company. It added another $265 to my cost.
Pros: Extra costs charged way different than quoted, initially was told to put $15,000 hold on card as insurance for the car, had to argue with agent to reduce to $750 at the end.
Pros: The car was great and at least we were able to negotiate a reasonable insurance rate. I'll give the manager credit for that. Even the agent was nice. I had insurance on my CC, the extra insurance I purchased through discovered cars then I had to buy more insurance at America car rentals. The people were great, but your systems are broken.

Cons: This is such a sketchy setup. They basically advertise full coverage for insurance with your car rental, only to find out when you get to the rental office, that the "full coverage" you purchased, is not actually valid unless you buy a basic policy from them, which costs 2X the amount of the full coverage package you already bought. It doubled the price of the car rental for us. And while we were there we saw two other couples at the counter hitting the exact same thing. Stay away from this one!

Cons: I booked a Jetta (or similiar) and they gave me a beat up older Chevy Cavalier. The A/C was not very cold, but worked well enough to keep us from getting too hot. The car did a great job by not breaking down and got us to where we needed to go...which was all over the place.
Cons: There is a person at America rental that engages with you while you wait for your car and that tries to sell you a DEAL. He encourages you to go visit Coba and Cenotes, and tricks you into believing that Coba entry is $300 pesos + parking $200 and Cenote is 250. He proposes to sell you on the spot a coupon that will give you free access for half the price. This is a scam, Coba is actually 100 pesos and parking is 60. This person works for Dreams Tulum and the America surely know the scam.

Pros: Good service especially when we returned the car very efficient and quick process. The manager was also kind enough to give us a ride to the airport because the shuttle didn’t have enough room for us.
Cons: Discovercars works with America car rental, where it is unable to guarantee a booked car and, above all, a contracted price.
Cons: They were giving me the runaround for the level of gas when I returned the car. I returned the car with more gas and they argued with me for half an hour but it was supposed to be full, when even on my documentation it was marked at half a tank.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.

Crossing the border is not allowed if the vehicle was picked up in Leon, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo, Oaxaca.
crossing country borders is available on previous request at least 3 days before the pick up date.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Details are available from the car rental company's reservation office.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
In no case will a refund be given for unused fuel.
If the customer is late for a return for more than 30 minutes, extra day charges will apply, in addition to any other rental charges.
