Budget at Cancun Airport

Pros: Nothing. My reservation was not honored due to no vehicles.

Cons: This was a horrible experience.

Pros: Budget did not provide any service and told me car that was reserved was unavailable.

Cons: - every interaction felt like a scam, to me and to multiple other customers collecting at the same time . - charged for an upgrade when they were unable to provide the contracted service - took 1hr55 to collect a car - did not take adequate photos of the car at collection to support their claim of damage at car return yet are holding the deposit. - making up seemingly new rules to Quintana Roo for renters which did not apply to other rental companies. Would recommend avoiding AT ALL COSTS.

Pros: Quick and efficient car delivery and drop-off, as well as transport service from / to airport. Professionalism of the staff.

Cons: I wish the Mexican car insurance was more transparent. It is a huge pain and I have no idea what it would cost.

Cons: Hidden cost. It was never mentioned that I would have to pay for a tracker in case I refuse their insurance.

Pros: Hands down the worst car rental I’ve ever had. It was a piece of junk and should not be in the rental pool. Doors wouldn’t unlock, seat belt broken, several plastic panels inside were detached, breaking caused the car to aggressively pull to one side, front suspension was very loose. And all over the exterior were dents, rust, and scratches. Not what I would expect from Budget. I could have bought the car for what I paid in rental fees. Very disappointed.

Cons: Trying to sell extra coverage at an inflated rate and no being sure what I was actually getting from them.

Pros: The airport agent was great. The desk agent was just ok.

Cons: We purchased insurance through you and we were told that the insurance was going to be 5x more that the quoted rate on the website.

Pros: The employees were kind and patient with our situation.

Cons: We were forced to pay more than double what the rental car cost just in insurance because apparently the previously bought insurance through discover cars wasn’t valid and we did not receive a refund for that either. The entire situation was ridiculous and we will absolutely not be renting through discover cars or budget again!!!!! A little heads up would have been nice!!!!

Pros: Efficient customer service Good shuttle service to the airport Offered a free upgrade and extra options.

Cons: Collected the car with 3/4 tank of fuel, and needed to return it with the same amount. Upon return, the fuel gage was literally a hairline under the 3/4 level. Now you'd think it's close enough, but the returning assessor said the balance is 30$USD. After arguing the obvious points, they were not showing much flexibility. It took a little emotion to get the team to see reason, and then they said I could go to the fuel station and fill up 5$, that would be sufficient.

Pros: They were quick and efficient!

Cons: Very bad car condition. I lost my flight because they were slow when I went there to drop off the car (It took me 1hour and 45 minutes). The windscreen wipers were in a horrible condition (I couldn't drive in the rain). The steering wheel was not balanced. The car wasn't balanced. The radio wasn't working all the time. They don't do full to full gas just to make you pay extra when you drop the car for 2 litters gas they made me pay 13USD.

Cons: Difficulty understanding extra coverage/insurance. Cost to purchase it was extremely expensive.

Cons: Had to wait a long time for a car. People trying to get me to go to a timeshare thing when I just wanted to leave.

Pros: They accepted the Discovery car booking AS it was. All that was bought was accepted. They did not ask for extra fees.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike.

Cons: I have rented so many cars in Mexico and I find that no matter where you rent you're always being hustled for something. This car was ridiculously expensive and it was such a unsafe beat up unstable car. I was quite shocked at how poor the condition was. I've rented from budget before and the quality of the cars just keep getting worse .

Pros: Everyone was very friendly. Process was efficient.

Cons: Agent explained that the 2021 car was "new." It had a cd player, stained seats, struggled to accelerate (making merging exciting) and could barely go above the speed limit.

Pros: I appreciated the professionalism and efficiency of the staff in handling my concerns and complaints about the car. One staff drove me and my kids to the terminal when I said I was already very late for my flight.

Cons: The condition of the car. There were spare wheels, not regular tires, on two of the wheels. The plate was already off one of the regular tires and didn’t look aesthetically pleasing. While driving the car, I was informed that the bottom plate at the near front was dragging on the ground. I managed to attach the plate, but it came loose from time to time. There was no windshield fluid, which made for very dangerous driving conditions (sun glare, streaks). And also flat tire on my last day.

Pros: Budget was great. More efficient than expected. They do try to upsell their rental insurance and a timeshare at the Cancun Airport location but as long as you have your own third party insurance and Mexican car insurance, Discover Cars policy was perfect for that btw, all was relatively seamless.

Cons: The car was pretty banged up with a massive amount of body scratches and the interior hadnt been cleaned well. Certain things in the car didnt work like tire pressure light, however, this ended up working to our advantage because driving in Mexico is thrillingly chaotic and Budget already understood the car was not in the best condition, so we didnt worry too much about the $2000 hold they put on your card. Everything went smoothly, car was dropped off without any new scratches and we went home

Cons: There was not a representative at the Budget Rental counter for over 50 minutes, almost an hour when we arrived. We called the phone numbers provided by this site and the one on the counter at budget and neither work. Just as we gave up and were about to give up, take the loss and catch a taxi to our resort a budget rep showed up. She just called the shuttle and it was easy cruising from from there.

Cons: Qualité très médiocre de la voiture, pneus en mauvais état, roue de secours mal gonflée, personnel très désagréable et même offensant au retour.

Pros: The rental had crack in the window. I normally would not have taken the car but because it took so long for me to find the rental office I could not wait any longer and decided to take the car. The rental counter was not in Monterrey airport but outside the terminal. It was not within walking distance. If it wasn’t for one of their competitors doing me the favor for calling Budget directly to come and pick me up to take me to their office I would have had to hire a taxi to drive me there.

Cons: The rental office was not in the terminal and no instructions were provided that I had to call Budget when I arrived at the airport. I had to figure this out myself. This was misleading because Discover cars indicated that rental car pickup was in the terminal

Cons: i didn't like that they took a 2000.00 deposit and the car was pretty old. needed new window wipers

Cons: Discover cars and the rental place do not seem to have any sort of proper communication. Therefore I was refused the service, have not been provided with a car on arrival but was still charged the full amount. The agency afterwards claimed that there were cars available. Simply straight up a lie!
