This is nothing but cheating as I I booked for 600Aud with 0 excess and a needed to go outside of airport whereas I booked for pickup from terminal. Person coming overseas doesn’t have time to call and get this settled. Overall I would have give minus if possible.

The middle seatbelt would lock up so it was really annoying and inconvenient for the middle passenger. The front desk person was rude and argumentative during check in. He didn’t understand we wanted only TWO drivers in one vehicle and ONE driver in the other- he tried to charge us a surcharge for a ‘third’ driver.

A very very tired looking car. On our return, comparing it to the others in the carpark it looked by far the worst. We also were not expecting a hybrid car. I felt like our booking had been almost forgotten and that we were given the garage hack. It was sluggish and the steering was quite loose.

I would suggest you remove this option and recommend people get the insurance through the car hire company so you avoid all the worry. The coats you indicate are not accurate.

Cons: The staff member working on the desk when we arrived wasn’t very friendly, he also dropped us off to the airport after our holiday, also not friendly, couldn’t manage a smile. Not great customer service.

Cons: Car was in terrible shape. Looked like it has rolled at some point and been panel beaten then terribly painted. Didn’t feel safe and was quite embarrassing to drive. Weren’t advised of the condition beforehand and couldn’t tell when collecting as the weather (rain and wind) was so bad/weren’t taken to inspect. Picking up the car was also mildly painful due to a seeming language barrier between myself (English speaker) and the representative resulting in miscommunication about method of payment.

Pros: They were very quick in sorting car pick up and drop offs and were not pushy about trying to force extra insurance. Car was good and fuel efficient

Cons: Maybe staff could have taken time to show us around the car features and dashboard lights etc. No real dislikes at all although hybrid car did behave a little strangely on way back to Queenstown going over the hills which was a concern a the time as ot whether we had a problem.

We ended up doubting ourselves, became unsure about insurance, and stupidly purchased extra unnecessary cover. Felt upset and angry we had acquiesced to the harassment. We have previously rented a car from another agency, the state of the car was beautiful and we felt valued as a customer. Not so with Yes Rentals.

Cons: The staff on arrival were rude, no smiles very arrogant need customer service training, Queenstown is a place where friendly people should be operating the desk for visitors. Our pick up driver was smoking while we had a 5 month baby with us, we we hired a car seat we assumed there was some type of car seat for the transfer shuttle to the car rental yard as well when we got in the van there was nothing so we had to hold our baby. The driver smelt of smoke and so did the whole van.

Pros: Very difficult to deal with. They keep asking to buy insurance and said the one from discovery car is not good. Took ours to get the car at the pick up the car.

Cons: The car is very old, has done more than 250,000km which discovery car never mentioned about the age and milage. The car is very old and dirty. The 3 tyres pressure is over 60 and 1 is only 20. Car seat from the rental company is definitely not safe for kids to use. My kid got rashes first day in it. I saw many people talked about safety issue with Yes rental, why you guys still listing their car without giving all the importance information. Very disappointed.

Cons: Did not ask for driver's licence for the extra driver and there is no water for the wiper :( Was expecting a Corolla as booked but got an Aqua instead.

Cons: They didn’t provide the right car as advertised but provided a worse car and had the audacity to label the car as an Upgrade to what was advertised. Car was so dusty and dirty inside my partner and I had to use an entire bag of wet wipes to clean it.

Cons: Had to wait almost an hour from arriving at rental car company to being dropped at airport, when told to allow 15 minutes. Staff not very communicative, giving only essential information.

Pros: Its a cheapish hire service. The car (Toyota Aqua) was excellent once we figured it out. NZ fuel prices mandate hiring a hybrid, and this one handled water crossings and dirt roads no problem.

Cons: When you hire a car, it's unfamiliar to you and you take on a large responsibility. We didn't know how to lock the car for 3 days because the manual was 100% japanese and no-one told us. In fact no one explained anything, except that if we did any damage at all, we'd be charged heaps of money. There was no condition report or discussion of existing damage, just take the keys, go find your car. Same deal on drop-off - absolutely no questions asked. Generally a dodgy vibe.

Cons: Insurance coverage felt misrepresented from Discover compared to Yes rentals—we ended up having to cancel the discover insurance and purchase the yes rental insurance at time of pick up in order to get third party coverage. Yes rentals also forgot to have us sign the appropriate documents, and called us when we were an hour away asking if we could come back and that we weren’t covered if something happened. We ended up being able to sign digitally, but this caused us anxiety and quite a delay.
