Pros: My main issue is being charged for a the car in Wellington airport that I never used. My flight was cancelled because of bad weather so I had to change my travel plans. The car I had rented February 16 thru March 2nd, was not refunded.

Pros: After reading some negative reviews I was nervous about my rental with Discover Cars. My experience was simply unbeatable in every respect. Communication was incredibly fast, car was immaculate (showroom presentation), price was excellent. Yes it was an older car but it ran beautifully and the condition was exemplary. We also had an after hours pick up which went perfectly. The staff were fabulous and absolutely nothing was a problem. Will definitely use them again!

Cons: Having 2 discount rentals on the same street in Queenstown. I was dropped to the wrong discount rentals and the lock box didn't work and also the car wasn't not in the yard. After having a coffee across the road as before office opening hours it dawned on me that there must be 2 discount rentals. After walking 400 meters up the road freezing, I found the right "Discount Rental" and the correct lock box worked and I was on my way. It all added to my adventures. It was all worth it.

It would be good if this was mentioned to anyone dropping a car off to this destination near Christchurch Airport as staff there said people found it difficult to find. Perhaps a paper map with a simple guide for which exit to take to find Russley Road. Otherwise we were very pleased with the whole car hire experience. Thank you.

The yard was messy and the office was a portable. Didn’t get a feeling of being in good hands through the process. Their EFT machine was not working. I was offered fee of $28/day to not pay bond.

Cons: Our only issue was the navigation and radio were in Japanese and could not be changed to English. There was no means of hooking our smartphones up to it either with Bluetooth. So we were running our phone batteries down using navigation via hand held devices. The phone holders provided weren’t the right size. We couldn’t listen to our music, just patchy local radio.

Before we finished all the paperwork at the receptions, our luggages were already loaded into our rental cars with the help of the shuttle driver. Cons: The van was classed as "luxury 8 seater van" - it barely got 7 people in it and the 8th person had to almost sit on someone's lap. It was covered in scratches & dents, and when I was being shown the damage I remarked that it seems like the whole van is basically scuffed. Her response was "yeah, the van is horrible". That says it all. Wouldn't book again and they should not advertise the van as luxury or an 8 seater.

Cons: I think the reason is lack of communication between Disscover cars and the service provider (Disount cars) As per the booking it shows that I've booked latest RAV4 car. (I could book a old RAV4 car for less money) But I got a old RAV4 car which is not comfortable at all.

My question: WHY DIDN'T YOU FIX IT BEFORE RENTING OUR TO CUSTOMERS?? 3. Car condition checking during collection was minimal and hasty. However, they scrutinize the condition during returns. Even tried to point the windscreen chip to me, when it was already there during collection.

Pros: Some rips in upholstery and dents and scratches to exterior, but car ran perfectly and well worth the savings of a newer car. Also, no gps or back up cameras and other newer features, but those were not necessary and you don’t have to pay for those either.
