When the tech came out he showed us a lot of corrsion on the batery and said most likely it had leaked and re charged the battery ( waiting and charging took up over 2 hours of time on christmas eve ). Then when we spoke to Mode rentals they said they would NOT reimburse us because it was our fault because we left the cruise control on !!! FALSE

Pros: Thorough check out of the car, they insisted I take lots of photos of the marks already on the car, help given in how to drive an automatic, and really helpful when I had to go back and retrieve a bag which I'd left under the driver's seat. They should probably ask customers to check under the seat as a matter of course! They also gave me a lift to the bus terminal as I wasn't going straight to the airport.

Cons: It appeared I would need a physical credit card to pay the bond but in reality my debit card was fine. As I don't have a credit card that was a concern when I picked up the car and was relieved to find the debit card could be used after all.

I had to buy some glass cleaner and rags to clean it so I could see. The car had an incredibly annoying rattle behind the dash that drove us insane

Cons: I had informed the rental company I was going to milford sound, obviously I would want to be comfortable during the drive, so I was looking for a solution to a problem with the drivers seat pushing hard against my spine, however upon getting back to the rental site I overheard the team complaining that my issue was basically ridiculous, I would say it is fair to ask to be comfortable during a trip? I was happy I could test another car but to be complained about - not nice.

I slept in it, cooked in it, hung my clothes up to dry in it after getting soaked for days while backpacking. Mode exceeded expectations and I would rent from them again fooooor sure!

However, this thoroughness on the agent’s part was probably for the best considering the amount of driving we did.

The inside of the car needed some attention with holes in the carpet (drivers side floor) and rips in centre console.

Pros: They were kind enough to drop me home after using the car

Pros: Mode Rental pick you up & drop you back at the airport as their office is 10 minutes away. Great service.

Cons: Hated that they want a $3000.00 deposit for the car. We felt this was extremely high.

Pros: Fast, efficient, & friendly staff, car was in perfect condition.

Cons: Nothing, all was great.

Pros: The customer service was lovely friendly and quick at collecting us from the airport.

Cons: Being charged $1112 at collection as bond and insurance because the insurance brought online through their agent is not honored by the rental company.

Cons: We liked the service provided, although the off site location is always less convenient.

Pros: It was the cheapest option.

Cons: My credit card type wasn't accepted (American Express), though this is a major credit card. The car wing mirrors had cobwebs. The car itself was a bit dirty. No one was around when we came to return the car (he had gone to pick someone from the airport). Though I understand the understaffing for the last point as times are tough and perhaps having an extra staff member isn't economically possibly. However the other points are unsatisfactory.

Pros: Good value for money. Great car. No fuss at all at any point during the experience.

Pros: The drop off was very quick and easy and we were dropped at the airport within minutes of dropping the car off.

Cons: They charge a hefty bond despite having your credit card details which is meant to be refunded on drop off. I am still waiting for my bond to be refunded back into my card. It’ has now been 5 days.
