Pros: 10/10 would recommend!! I recently had the pleasure of renting a van from Mode during my trip to Queenstown, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we were shuttled from the airport to the rental desk, everything was seamless and easy. The staff were incredibly attentive on both pick up and drop off and provided us with all the useful information we needed, especially regarding safety and what to do in case of an accident.

When the tech came out he showed us a lot of corrsion on the batery and said most likely it had leaked and re charged the battery ( waiting and charging took up over 2 hours of time on christmas eve ). Then when we spoke to Mode rentals they said they would NOT reimburse us because it was our fault because we left the cruise control on !!! FALSE

Pros: Thorough check out of the car, they insisted I take lots of photos of the marks already on the car, help given in how to drive an automatic, and really helpful when I had to go back and retrieve a bag which I'd left under the driver's seat. They should probably ask customers to check under the seat as a matter of course! They also gave me a lift to the bus terminal as I wasn't going straight to the airport.

Cons: It appeared I would need a physical credit card to pay the bond but in reality my debit card was fine. As I don't have a credit card that was a concern when I picked up the car and was relieved to find the debit card could be used after all.

Cons: Firstly it took two phone calls to get picked up at the terminal. They clearly forgot we called. The offices are very un-welcoming and the staff not overly friendly. Thirdly the car was filthy. The interior was clean but the exterior was filthy. The inside of the front windscreen was soo bad that driving into the sun I was blinded by the water marks. I had to buy some glass cleaner and rags to clean it so I could see. The car had an incredibly annoying rattle behind the dash that drove us insane

Cons: I had informed the rental company I was going to milford sound, obviously I would want to be comfortable during the drive, so I was looking for a solution to a problem with the drivers seat pushing hard against my spine, however upon getting back to the rental site I overheard the team complaining that my issue was basically ridiculous, I would say it is fair to ask to be comfortable during a trip? I was happy I could test another car but to be complained about - not nice.
