Mode Car Rentals at Queenstown Airport

Cons: The car would not restart after a fuel stop. I noticed a loose battery cable and attempted to tighten the cable with hand tools. The battery terminal and battery post expander required an adjustment for which I did not have the proper tools. I was able to get the car to a local mechanic who made the necessary repairs. The cost was minimal and I was able to continue with my trip. I notified the rental car company and requested a reimbursement for the repair and lost time. Still waiting.

Pros: Mode Rentals were competitive in price, friendly and the shuttle bus is an added bonus. I would highly recommend Mode Rental for your next adventure to New Zealand.

Pros: 10/10 would recommend!! I recently had the pleasure of renting a van from Mode during my trip to Queenstown, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we were shuttled from the airport to the rental desk, everything was seamless and easy. The staff were incredibly attentive on both pick up and drop off and provided us with all the useful information we needed, especially regarding safety and what to do in case of an accident.

Pros: Thorough check out of the car, they insisted I take lots of photos of the marks already on the car, help given in how to drive an automatic, and really helpful when I had to go back and retrieve a bag which I'd left under the driver's seat. They should probably ask customers to check under the seat as a matter of course! They also gave me a lift to the bus terminal as I wasn't going straight to the airport.

The interior was clean but the exterior was filthy. The inside of the front windscreen was soo bad that driving into the sun I was blinded by the water marks. I had to buy some glass cleaner and rags to clean it so I could see. The car had an incredibly annoying rattle behind the dash that drove us insane

Cons: I had informed the rental company I was going to milford sound, obviously I would want to be comfortable during the drive, so I was looking for a solution to a problem with the drivers seat pushing hard against my spine, however upon getting back to the rental site I overheard the team complaining that my issue was basically ridiculous, I would say it is fair to ask to be comfortable during a trip? I was happy I could test another car but to be complained about - not nice.

Cons: The online check in was interesting - it would have been helpful to know how long it takes to complete before starting and what was needed ie drivers licenses, passport number.

Cons: The only upside is you need to send the car to their office which is about 10mins drive rather than able to surrender it at the airport for customer convenience.
