Cons: I booked in online, as suggested by the company. (to prevent delays getting the keys and being able to leave). After difficulties at the airport pick-up (Language was an issue, understanding what was being said) I arrived at the rental company and completed the minimal paperwork required. Then several other people and I had to wait and wait for the keys. In the end, I went inside and told them that people were in a hurry and needed their car ASAP. Eventually, we were given our keys and left

Cons: I thought being charged $NZ400 excess for a simple puncture during our trip was totally over the top. If I had the puncture repaired myself it would have cost around $40. There needs to be a separate excess/charge for such a small issue like a puncture. The charging of such a steep excess for a simple issue, one not of our doing, forced me to follow up with an insurance claim. This is proving cumbersome and time consuming.

Pros: The car was quite old - 125000kms - and had quite a few minor dents and scratches BUT was very economical and ran really well. Travelled long distances - approx 2500kms - and had no problems whatsoever.

Cons: I didn't like the that i had to leave a $2000.00 Deposit for a minor bit of damage to the car. Which I did not do. To help in these matters a dash cam should be placed in all of the vehicles. The car was parked over 2 days and the damage done then. I had a flight to catch at 10.am and they were not going to let me go until could paid the deposit. THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW THER OWN BANK DETAILS. To pay money into their account by another person.

Pros: It took only a couple of minutes to sign off and pick up the car and dropping off was very easy too. They also had a shuttle there to take us back to the airport. Car was clean looked well looked after.

Cons: Unfortunately I had a minor accident (bump on rear fender) for which I took responsibility. I filled out claim forms at the end of our trip. They then indicated some problem with my driver's license. I responded with corrective information 3 days ago and have not received a response back. I am not sure how to proceed with the claim which was insured through Discover. So the rental was fine up until then.

Cons: The service provided by Yes rental was very good. However the vehicle was not in good condition. In fact it was not safe to drive.

Cons: No service problems. Car was old but did the job. The rear camera didn’t work properly so that made it a little unsafe. The speakers only had loud or nothing - which are important for long trips. We overcame by Bluetoothing our phone and using the phone volume control.

Cons: Took nearly an hour to be picked up from the airport. Office phone not answered. Initial car offered was not roadworthy with bald tyres and damaged guards and was filthy inside and out. Eventually got offered a replacement car that was only slightly better. Long check in process. Would never use them again.

Pros: There were many things wrong with the car being almost 20 years old. The windscreen wipers weren’t the correct size for the car so constantly banged on the edge. The whole car shook once we neared 100k’s on the motorway, obviously needing major wheel alignment. One of the seat belts didn’t work, the head lights were dogged over.

Cons: The car they gave us was dangerous to drive. New Zealand is a very mountainous and has many curves in the roads. Yes Rentals did not do a safety inspection on the car they gave us. On the last day of our trip, we had a flat tire. I expected that I must have run over a nail somehow. But no, the front passenger tire blew because there was no tread on the tire. The steel belts showed all the way around. We (and Yes Rentals) were extremely lucky that the tire blew out on a straight away.
