Bargain Rental Cars at Christchurch Airport

Pros: Friendly, efficient service.

Cons: The car was ten years old, I would have preferred a newer car. I could not charge my i phone in the car.

Cons: What I didn't like is the car they arrange for us. Did not provide the car to meet my need. Booked a compact car but was given a big car with poor fuel efficiency.

Cons: The car was well below standard expected. It was a very old car (over 250,000km), but worse was the condition - rubber around back left door and the boot continually came off making closing difficult.

Cons: The vehicle had a stained interior, had an awful smell and had a number of mechanical issues. There was a very loud screeching sound coming from the engine on start up that sounded like the cam belt had gone. The front left wheel caught on the body work in hard lock. The car pulled hard to the left under breaking and weridly there was no windscreen wash, quite a simple thing to get right. All in all, a terrible experience picking up an awful car.

Cons: The car was simply too old and whilst it was possible to see the age range of the cars when booking, it was very unclear and there is no way I would've booked if I'd had the age and condition the car pointed out on the website. Also the radio didn't work as the screen to show the details looked like it had a cataract!

Pros: Pick up at 00:30 was so easy and car ready to go. Drop off was also easy and quick. The car was a bit older, but in good condition and excellent value. I had chosen a Hybrid and got that so fuel costs were down too.

I called the number provided a couple of days early to confirm and was assured that was the case, however when I dropped it off, there was no answer at any of the numbers provided and I was later than I had planned to catch my flight.

On taking my details at the hire place the lady forgot to give me back my drivers license . I filled the car to full told not enough charged $50 and $20

Pros: First of all there were no clear instructions on where to find the car, i paid extra from premium airport pick up and it was a 10 minute car ride away. Couldnt get ahold of anyone to find this out, after numerous phone calls finally got there.

After finding someone with a portable tyre pump we managed to get to a garage then to find that 3 of the tyres on the car werent even road legal. Therefor i had to pay out of my own money for new tyres and am still waiting to be paid back from bargin rentals nearly 10 days later.

Cons: - Upon arrival at Christchurch airport there was no BRC desk. Instead we got a freephone number from the information desk to call. There we rang a car rental/drop off depot that sent a mini bus to collect us. - We received a 15 year old Nissan Tiida with 110kms on it. The car had a plethora of dents, scrapes, scratches, marks on it's exterior. The car seat was torn and the drivers footwell was filthy. The cars' brakes screeched at the slighest of encouragement which was quite unnerving.

Cons: The radio system was Japanese and I couldn't read the instructions to be able to use it effectively. All songs in the duke box were in Japanese and I couldn't understand any of them. The FM radio frequency range couldn't pick up local radio stations. This meant that on my driving holiday, the radio/audio was completely ineffective - a situation totally unexpected for being in an English-speaking country.

Pros: From start to finish including communicating from the UK to NZ was outstanding in every way. Professional and honest. A very good price and trustworthy car. Shuttle drivers helpful and friendly.
