Cons: The alternative they offered were not Good and we had no choice then to accept the vehicle instead as our all bookings were lined up. Due to this we were delayed by 3 hours from our schedule and the vehicle was not good also. Do not take from Mode rental any vehicle as the fleet of vehicles are not good.

Pros: It was a very old unsafe vehicle with stinky carpets. Vehicle did not have working front vipers, wheel alignment was very bad, car was pulling towards left and was difficult to drive. I reported that to the when returning the car and she tells me I cannot do anything as car was from Christchurch. I did not want anything from her, I just was reporting so next family doesn’t have to drive this dangerous vehicle before it is repaired.

Cons: I am not sure if Mode is trying to steal from customers or local reps but as Mode found out I am international traveler with insurance and already have left New Zealand Mode rep started sending me emails claiming car was damaged during our rental. Also I retuned vehicle with full tank and I received emails that they are charging for fuel top off and some administration fees.It is big scam and will make sure this goes on Facebook and all other social media so other customers never have to face it

Chips are a normal everyday thing whilst driving in NZ and to get charged extra for something which is out of your control is abit rough. The cleanliness of the car upon pick up was abit average too. I understand that there was alot of pollen in the air but the exterior of the car didn't look like it had been cleaned for a good week or so.

When I picked 3 out 2 couldn't be used as the straps had been cut and another was missing the back strap. I took 3 seats 1 being inappropriate for my daughter's age just to get home and then I had to go and purchase a seat for her age. When I emailed mode about the situation the customer service was great

Pros: The turban guy who picked us up from Christchurch airport made our day from the first day onwards. Our plane was late by one and a half hours but he was calm and did all processes with a smile. I was impressed with their commitment to customer satisfaction and their attention to detail. Overall, my experience with Mode Car Rentals NZ Christchurch was excellent, and I will definitely choose them again for my future car rental needs in Christchurch!

Pros: Disappointing firstly there no waiting area I had wait outside in the cold for 20mins Car was dirty I actually took pictures Hidden cost $3000 bond to be paid regardless getting insurance on the car Never ever using this company or discovery cars to book

Cons: Hidden cost huge bond car condition And no waiting area for pick up I have never had a rental company charge $3000 bond and if you can’t pay that there is daily charge extra to the booking price and I also had insurance on the car what is all that about??

Cons: To start with the phone number on email didn’t directly work. I then had to wait 20 plus minutes in a freezing wind to get picked up. The car I fented was supposed to be an executive standard, instead it was very dirty outside and essentially a base model so not worth the extra money I paid for it!!

Cons: old car high mileage (I'm not sure if it's legal to use the high mileage as a rental), staff was not patient, pick up van was full so I had to wait for another 20 mins for the van to come back.

Pros: With changing circumstances, flight cancellations, etc., they were very accommodating.

Cons: It was difficult to get the key in the after hours dropbox.

Cons: That I had to get a taxi from the airport because sir nz put us onto a latter flight

Cons: The 3000 insurance bond was held in security. I have a debit card and these funds were locked for a week. This should be conveyed at time of transaction.

Cons: No one answered the first few times we called for airport pick up. We hired a car seat and it was terrible. We contacted mode several times before arrival to find out what type of seat it would be and no one would give us an answer. We were offered no help installing it and despite spending considerable time at the pick up and the next day with the help of friends, we were unable to instal it in a way that we felt comfortable that our 1yo would be safe. Ended up hiring newfrom a different place.

Pros: Easy pick up, everything was ready when we arrived. Had a slight change of drop off times (due to a flood) was very understanding. Car was in great condition.

Cons: Externally the car was unwashed when picked up but i just like clean cars. Internally was immaculate
