Jucy at Christchurch Airport

Cons: The Jucy Christchurch office closes at 4pm much earlier than any rental company. This together with the mix up with Discover Cars and Kayak left me without a car for my holiday.

Cons: It would be better if they don’t talk about the insurance- because that’s very confusing—-in the end, he just said, that’s fine

Cons: Shuttle was late in the morning for first pick up. When we got to Jucy car rental place, the car was not ready yet. It took them nealy half an hour to find the car. I meant the car should have been parked up in front of the door and ready foe the customer from the night before. There was no shuttle bus to drop us off when we returned the car as it was too early for them to get out of their bed I think.

Cons: Last shuttle to airport was 3.30pm and we weren’t told that at pick up. We dropped off after hours and were stranded.

Pros: Staff were great. Hassle-free experience collecting and returning the car.

Cons: GPS needs to be updated or replaced with Google maps. I was in Twizel when I keyed in Mt John observatory as a destination. Instead, it led me to Mt John Waimate. Wasted 2hrs of my time. Had intended to spend some time in Tekapo. It even got the Jucy location wrong when I was returning the car. You guys can try it yourself.

Pros: Easy pick up and drop off just a few minutes from the airport. Free shuttle service to/from airport to their office. Price - unbeatable.

Cons: Car was a little old and worn. Petrol looked 'full' on pick up but tank could not have been completely full. I did just 110km in the small engined Suzuki Swift, driving conservatively around town but ended up needing to add 17 litres of fuel to fill the car on return - impossible that this small car would use 17 litres driving just 110 km!! Felt a bit swindled there!

Pros: We rented the cheapest car but it was not suitable for the driving we were doing. It would have been better if jucy would ask where we are driving to and suggested the best car.

Cons: The car was scratched on the outside and I didn’t have great confidence in the car when we drive it to the ski areas which do not have good roads. But gravel only.

Pros: We would definatley used Jucy again if we were renting a vehicle. Thought the helpful, kind staff were the highlight.

Cons: There was some issue when the car was returned as the system was showing the booking was cancelled. I don't like Jucy system requiring me to check-in on line and if I did not do it, booking is cancelled. That should only be an option as we all know it is not actually safe to give personal information on line.

Cons: Once at depot, processing for pickup of car was slow. Car made strange noise when braking. Dropping car off, had to Uber to airport because the last shuttle goes very early at 3.30pm

Cons: They were very quick to sell us insurance without explaining the alternative. If I wanted their insurance I would have bought it when filling out online. Reluctantly I paid but it cost an extra $60.

Cons: Unfortunately understaffed meant the waits to get sorted can be longer than expected.

Cons: Not close to the airport terminal. Staff member was clearly sick and coughing. They advertised that a shuttle ran every 20 mins to pick people up - but we waited for 30 mins before ringing them and they then came.

Pros: Friendly. Very tidy car. The car we ordered wasn't available, so was offered a free upgrade (which we accepted).

Cons: Because we booked through another source, the checking in process for the car seemed to take considerably longer than those around us. Not a big problem, just a little annoying seeming other customers get through the process while you are still going.
