Cons: Had to wait a short while at the reception. I was in line and twice other customers walked in past me and got served straight away.

Cons: we spent 20mins listening to complaints about speeding drivers, about drivers who have spoiled the cars by driving too hard, this is not how car rental pick ups are conducted in 2024. For the car return while waiting for the shuttle to the airport your staff member took an extended amount of time while we were sat in the shuttle, i went to look for them and found them around the back of the office gossip with another staff member, when they saw me they suddenly came running back to the shuttle

Pros: Avoid Yesaway They gave me a car that was 5 years old with nearly 130,000 kms. A Chinese company for Chinese people

Cons: Old car with many impacts. I had to take many photos to prove everything. When dropping -off the car they absolutely wanted to make me responsible for a ridiculous tiny weeny impact on the windscreen. They eventually recognised it was there beforehand. Bad service and unfair staff.

Really clear instructions given re: speed around town, nearest gas station to top up prior to returning vehicle etc. We caught the Yesaway Shuttles straight away to and from the airport. We got a Mazda CX5 2023 and it was in excellent condition including cleanliness. We decided not to get the child restraint and was refunded within the hour of changing our mind. We travel often and opt for car hire and this was one of the best/smoothest experiences we've had.

Cons: All the child restraints need cleaning, they're quite filthy really. You also need to install them yourself. However we decided not to go ahead with this as we did bring a half booster with us for our 6 year old, and our oldest is tall enough to use the seat belts. Because the service was so friendly, ace refunded so quickly, we were impressed with the car and rated it 10/10.

Pros: Efficient service and staff trust in customers. Due to it being dark outside (after 5:00 pm) and the car having a dark colour, the Rental Agent told us that there were a few scratches but no dent damage. If we brought the car back without any dent damage there would be no claim against us. Although we took photos of scratches on the car the next morning, it was great to note that the Agent followed through on their advice (no claim if no dent damage).

Cons: It would be great if the Agency could install a free call phone at the airport for customers to contact them. I don’t have international roaming on my phone and calls from the pay phone at the airport cost $7.50 per minute. Alternatively, a WhatsApp contact number will help as we can use the free airport wifi to call.

Cons: Car was not the one we asked and paid for. Not to mention that, but when they bought it around it was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. We asked for a refund and they wouldn’t give it to us. We didn’t even get a partial refund for receiving a cheaper car than the one we paid for. Then, we dropped it off and the man recieving it said it was fine, and received in good condition, then the following day they charged us $200 for damage to the car. Awful company. Will be using the big guys next time.

Pros: Pick up was ok and drop off was fine. 20min wait to get picked at the airport was unexpected as I phoned ahead and they had my landing time. The lady that took me back to the airport was lovely though.

Cons: My credit card was not taken, which I made the booking with, and this was disappointing as I try to use this to earn points with. I would have booked elsewhere had I known. The hold charge was taken on this card so I would expect the full charge to be taken. The car had 170,000 kms on it and had very rough Transmission and soft brakes. I didnt feel very safe driving it. I expect more from a rental car. I will be sticking with the name brand rental places next time.

Cons: The agent / driver who was first assigned to drop us from the cantebury airpark to the airport was extremely rude to us. We arrived 15minutes before time however the agent / driver rudely insisted us to park the car first and then carry the luggage to the air park office .We politely explained that as the bags are too heavy we would offload the luggage at the airpark office first and then park the car . To which he hailed harsh words of insults and drove away . All this mess at 5:45am !

We were told if we had an accident we would have to pay the $4k but could then reclaim it from discover cars later. It would have been good for this info to be clearer before we signed up with discover cars

Cons: The car was expensive and substandard. It had a terrible odour, possibly from a bad cabin filter and the suspension was dangerously worn making the car handle terribly. I reported these things to the office staff, but they weren't interested.

Cons: Car was not in roadworthy condition as front tyres had no threads on the inside and white fibres was already visible. Brakes were spongy and steering wheel vibrates when braking hard. I had to spend time out of my vacation to stop by a tyre shop to replace them. Although I was fully reimbursed after that, I lost precious vacation time and was left with over 500 NZD after we left NZ as refund took 3 days to clear after processing it. Nothing they can do because that's the bank system.

The car radio was very limited (stations), and the phone charger did not work (I had the car for several weeks).

Cons: The on,y issue I have was a stone through the windscreen. Just as well I had taken full insurance although this was stressful knowing my credit card would be charged and the. Have to,claim it back. Process was relatively good mind you I do t have the funds refunded as yet. The insurance is through discovery not the actual rental car operator. I thought I was paying the rental company yesaway for this insurance not discovery.

Cons: I paid for the Suzuki swift yet when we arrived- they said they don’t even stock that car and have us a similar sized Toyota. We also chose a drop off time of 7.30 but they tried to get us to bring the car in before 5 because they wanted to go home. Radio was in Japanese and only played The Edge.

Cons: On dropping off the vehicle the office appeared closed, which it wasnt more a case of it was unmanned therefore briefly locked whilst the single front desk staff member headed out back. This resulted in a Uber being called and subseqent charge to get to the airport instead of utilising the free shuttle service, which was offered at the point the desk staff returned but at this stage the Uber was already on site, unable to be cancelled. Would be keen to hear thoughts on this?
