Cons: I was informed of an unpaid invoice 10 months after the last rental which I knew nothing about and provided with no evidence of what the bill was for. I have yet to recirve an explanation for what is was for. I feel totally ripped off and will never use goldcar again

Cons: Misleading and incorrect information provided about our mileage limit, compounded by DiscoverCars who failed to spot the error. Our booking said max 1500km, Goldcar said 150km / day, DiscoverCars said 150km / day…but they were both wrong. A 6-day hire such as ours says 250km in the rental agreement. An absolutely unforgivable error on the part of both companies. And as yet, no apology As a result we had to curtail our itinerary, all very stressful, inconvenient and utterly disappointing.

I told them that I already had paid and that I just check it. Now I lost money get same care for double the prices

Cons: Veel schades stonden niet op de kaart. Toen ik dit vertelde zeiden ze dat het echt meer dan 2 cm moest zijn, maar de schade die ze hadden gemist was echt groter. Dit werd wel aangepast, maar dat duurde wel even, omdat de persoon die hierover ging nergens te vinden was. Verder miste ik ook wel wat uitleg over de auto. Wij dachten dat we geen cruise control hadden, maar die bleek er achteraf wel op te zitten.

The staff member could be a bit more friendly. The location instructions in the voucher were a bit off - just follow the signs on the airport. And last, there's an extra fuel deposit in addition to the car deposit which was not mentioned in the booking process.

Cons: They are trying to charge me €192.95 for some dust on the car, photographed after they declined to check the car with me after the rental saying it wasn't necessary and they would return my fuel deposit as everything was fine. Disgusted with their behaviour. Pros: When I returned the car, I was accused of causing scratches that were there there when I received the car. I was charged €300 for very minor scratches that I didn’t see even though I inspected the car thoroughly. When you pick up a car at car at night from a poorly lit enclosed car park, you will be very lucky to see all minor damage. This damage may not be recorded on the damage report either and you will be charged for it. When I complained , I was told I should have taken their insurance.

Cons: I didn’t like being charged for damage that was on the car when I received it. It can be very difficult to see minor scratches in a poorly lit enclosed car park at night. If you don’t take out their very expensive insurance, expect to pay them in some other way. Also, most staff are very rude. I will never use Goldcar again. There are much better options at Malaga airport.

Really poor customer service from majority of goldcar staff who we dealt with. Would not use Goldcar again

So we got a whole different car. When we booked it said fiat Abarth or mini elite, but I got a car twice as big as a fiat 500.

Like 100 yards difference and they wanted to charge me an extra £20 get the car as some clause in the contract says if u pick.it up from outside the airport building ( i was still on airport land) then there is an extra charge but doesn't say what that it. It's down to gold car to tell you what that charge is and it changes depending on the time of That info wasn't on any of the Web page when I booked it.

Even though I returned the car to the airport ahead of schedule and had it checked and signed for and returned the keys, I am now receiving emails that I did not return the car and I will be charged $40 per day for it. Cons: I thought that I had booked a car for 80 pounds. It ended up costing over 200 pounds. Nobody has explained why the difference. I feel exploited as I don't speak Spanish and I believe the system used is designed to exploit and rip off those that don't use the service frequently.

The car was covered in bumps and dents and most were covered on the contact.However on collection it was midnight and dark and there were a number of small scratches we’d missed. Goldcar said I had been in an accident. I hadn’t. I emailed them three times to clear the situation up.They never responded. They then without contact tried to take money off my credit card. An absolute disgrace.

Cons: The wait at the airport was 75 mins - horrible with two young children. When returning the vehicle the staff refused to do a check out for us to sign off, instead sent it by email after we had left. That email confirmed no additional fees were to be paid HOWEVER once we returned to the UK the company tried to charge us €150 euros and retained another €50 from our deposit which they claimed was for ‘additional cleaning’. The photos they sent were of a few crumbs on the back seat! DO NOT USE!

I was caught then because my card didn't have enough for the 1400e deposit without the extra insurance because it takes a couple of days for the refund to show on my card. There was nothing I could do. The agent said it was a misunderstanding with the language !???

The excuse given is 'local taxes' etc. It all seems like a money making exercise at every opportunity. The instructions for returning the car were non-existent up we were very confused on where to drive to at the airport. Gold car took a long time to process us when we went to collect the car. I originally ordered a Ford Focus, this was changed to a Renault Megan, but in the end we were given a Tivoli.
