Pick-up instructions
Customers can arrive at either Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Customers have to follow the indications to the luggage reclaim belts and once they have arrived to the floor where the belts are located, they should go down to the floor -1 (without leaving the building) by using the lifts or the escalator. They will have to go to the rent a car area and they will find our office there. The "Express collection service" allows the formalization of the contract and collection of the vehicle directly in the parking area of the airport, without going through the open office in the terminal, by paying an extra charge.

Pros: - they added additional insurance without asking. This was a cost of about £180 - they simply mentioned this cover, and did NOT ask the question to me. - I have degree level Spanish and we conducted the conversation in English - yet they are a disgrace to add this without asking seeking consent - the car we were given was very high milage, possibly ex another car rental firm - it had a lot of damage and bumps and bruises. - there was no screen wash! Just tap water. Very poor.

Cons: All the above. Also the car was almost dead. The engine was very poor / weak. It also has space for one suitcase only in the boot. As a family of three it was barely able to serve its purpose

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Grumpy advisor who was determined to upsell insurance. Will never use Goldcar again. No clear instructions about reviewing damage to the car before departure. No chance to discuss state of the car before leaving. Damage not witnessed by us or member of staff.On return no witnessed review of any new damage to the car. Impossible to agree any new damage.

Pros: The service provided was very good

Cons: I can say at the moment.. as I am waiting for the fuel refund They asked for a deposit for the fuel and if i return the car with full tank they will refund the deposit ( I’ve read on their reviews they don’t give the deposit back ) so I am waiting for the deposit for the fuel

Pros: Absolutely nothing, petrol wasn’t full on a full to full basis, and fuel deposit was secured…

Cons: Petrol car instead of electric, manual instead of automatic, fuel wasn’t topped up, car was smudged, not clean, had to wait nearly 2 hours just to pick the car up, caused us to be late

Pros: The car was fine. I had a flat tire, reported it to the company, instead of sending a new tire, they sent a recovery truck without one. They took the car away and I went back to Malaga and was given a replacement, which was fine. Be healthy was handled well, except that they could have saved themselves a lot of expense and I could have saved half a day of messing about provided a spare or delivered replacement The other issue is that they have already had refunded my fuel deposit – I hope this

Cons: Will happen soon. Otherwise, no complaints at all, call in good condition, clean, and good service.

Pros: They dropped us back off at terminal so we could collect a Goldcar vehicle

Cons: We never saw the Yaris we were expecting as the bizzare rule that you had to arrive on the same day as you collected car and prove it with your boarding card, we had already been in Spain for 3 weeks and only needed a car for the final week. When this was noticed they couldn't explain why it was a condition of hire but if we coughed up another 140 euros we could have the car. We declined and their rep contacted Discovery cars who arranged another car with Goldcar which was only 9 Euros Extra.

Pros: I didn’t enjoy the hard sell over the car insurance! They tried every excuse going to get me to pay the extra €240 which I declined, they even told me how bad it would be for us to have an accident if we didn’t! Then tried to charge an extra € 80 for under 25 even thou we were all over 25!

Cons: Drop off was good and very efficient, we had the car condition report within 30 minutes of dropping the car off.

Pros: Nice, new, clean car.

Cons: The price I paid for the rental was not the same as I agreed with Discover Cars. You quoted 113.17 euros and estimated 96.69 GBP. Instead I ended up paying 147.04 GBP. The difference arose mostly from the exchange rates Goldcar applied to the initial payment (1.01 euros to 1 GBP) and the refund of the fuel deposit (1.17). I was not given the option of paying in euros at the rate determined by my bank on pick up of the car. This is underhand practice and I will not use Goldcar in future.

Pros: Service was efficient but abrupt, especially once I made it clear I did not want to take up insurance option as I have annual policy

Cons: See comments above. Also drop off in Barcelona was protracted, I was charged as to clean a small amount of sand. I rent cars on a monthly basis world wide and have never encountered this. I also received an email stating I had been in an accident and needed to complete a form within 48 hour when this was clearly not the case. Attempting to contact customer services was difficult and they were unable to help, telling me to email . I then received a reply saying they would reply within. 14 days,

Pros: The service was hassle free once I had agreed to all the insurances.

Cons: The policy of holding deposit for a month once the car is returned, is something which I didn't expect. Alternative provided was a heavy insurance, which I did take as I needed to hire the car.

Cons: The queue to get keys was over 40 minutes long, and they only noted external damage to the car. Nothing was recorded in internal damage and they charged me for an item inside that looked like it had been damaged years before, and also charged me for fuel when I dropped it off filled. Feels crooked.
