Drivalia at Malaga Airport

Pros: Nabídli mi své možnosti pojištění, ale nic mi nevnucoval. Měl jsem pojištění od zprosředkovatele. Potřebovali jsme vůz vrátit o pár hodin dříve, nebyl s tím problém. Vše proběhlo hladce.

Cons: Na E-mailový dotaz ohledně dřívějšího času vrácení vozu nereagovali.

Pros: No major hiccups and didn’t try to sell more insurance at pick up counter.

Cons: At Malaga airport the direction details provided to the pick up point didn’t tally with the actual pick up location and there only appeared to be one shuttle bus in operation. This meant that our wait at the airport was around 20 minutes which we thought was a long time. For balance, upon returning our car we were only waiting ten minutes before the shuttle bus departed for the five minute ride to the airport.

Pros: We really recommend Drivalia. Nice service, good cars. Friendly drivers. My husband forgot his bag in the shuttle, they phoned us and brought it back at the airport.

Pros: The agent was quick, helpful and cute! Car was good value and was then upgraded due to availability.

Cons: Off-airport pick-up with no clear signage for transfer bus. Used tissues in vehicle. Lack of any recording of vehicle condition in paperwork issued (advised to make a video instead).

Pros: Easy check in and out, the complimentary pickup and drop off is a nice touch.

Cons: When you book the car initially you include insurance but when arriving at the desk the agents offer you additional insurance, at a premium price. When I initially declined the offer, the agent said something along the lines of "I hope your insurance covers you fully...." which creates doubt especially if you are a tourist. I hate feeling ripped off like that!!!

Cons: They had changed the hiring conditions (the deposit went from 1000 to 1200). Our credit card limit was 1000, so we couldn't cover the deposit of 1200. Fortunately, the Drivalia employee then changed her mind and took the deposit of 1000 (as was in our initial agreement). I think she shouldn't have charged us 1200 in the first place.

Cons: Bodywork of car was not in great condition so hard to tell what would be any new damage. Had to wait a while for the shuttle and office further away (still less than 10 mins) than a lot of the other rental car firms.

Pros: The speed from arriving to driving out was less than 10 mins. Car was 100% perfect, 100% value for money and staff were brilliant. Don't go anywhere else.

Cons: Racist, ableist, misogynistic staff, insurance scams, lied about breakdown cover, when called because the car wouldn’t start THREE TIMES, there was no one to answer my call. When I mentioned this at drop off, I was told it’s better to email!!??? When I’m stranded on top of a mountain because your rubbish car won’t start and you lied about breakdown number being on the leaflet!!!

Pros: It was esay to find. Fast pick-up and drop-off. Company staff was polite.

Cons: I didn't like that I had to leave fuel tank full, however it wasnt full when we get the car.

Cons: Only issue was we had a second car and driver forgot credit card / as well as what we paid to DiscoverCars so we had to pay local insurance as they would not accept my credit card instead.

Cons: Don't accept anything but credit cards for a deposit which is a first for us. Made us pay 350 euro extra when we used a visa debit card instead. Staff was rude. Called us a taxi without a baby seat.

Cons: Their pick up instructions are not good at all. Location given does not seem to be the same place they actually pick up / drop off at. It isn’t a custom pick up. They run, in effect, a circular bus service. You have to wait for it, like a normal bus. This is not made clear, at all. We ended up having to get a cab from the airport to Drivalia.

Cons: On pick up, staff, an older lady, was very unfriendly. No spare tyre in car. No roadside assistance even for mechanical. Have to call emergency assistance and eur200 fee. Questioned this and younger girl said it would have a pump up can for temporary fix of tyres but none in our car. Older lady said even if we had one and we had to use it, they would charge us eur200 if we used it. What a joke! Looked them up and u can buy a can for eur15-20. A very unfriendly check in staff.

Cons: The usual issues on Pick up from Drivalia trying to sell extra insurance at an exorbitant rate. Then when we returned the car, they tried to say there was new damage. Fortunately, we were able to show a photo taken on pick up and they then agreed the damage was pre-existing. They were just OK and what we have come to expect form this sector.

Pros: We waited for more than 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle to arrive - even after a phone call. But the agent at the office was nice and efficient It was very difficult to locate the office , when returning the car. There were chocolate stains on the front seat , and the windows were dirty on the inside.

Cons: There were quite a lot of scratches on the car - some of them noticed by Drivalia. But the agent when we returned the car was the most rude and impolite person I've ever met.He insinuated that I had made a huge scratch on the car - but I had taken photos at the hand-over and could prove otherwise. When taking back the car key , he also took my personal Drivalia papers , and refused to talk to me , when I asked to get them back He shouted rudely at me in front of 10 astonished customers ,

Pros: The car has a few scratches etc but that is to be expected. They don't create drama when you hand the car back. Not that i had any additional scratches etc but they are not picky

Cons: When we went to pick up our vehicles, they said that full protection only covers the damage caused to the other vehicle in the event of an accident. We were told that if we wanted full protection for our own vehicle, we would either have to pay 100 euros or our card would be blocked for 1200 euros. It was said that even small scratches on the vehicle will be deducted from the blocked fee. They made us believe in a separate protection under the name of full protection in exchange for 100 euros.

Pros: Just the fact that they always answer the phone is fantastic. Flexible. Even though I landed late (after closing time), we were able to come to an agreement and I was able to pick up my car. The same thing with the return. Very smooth.

Cons: Car cleanliness. The windshield was quite dirty and I'm talking about the inside. Otherwise it was no complaints.

Cons: time it took to get to the rental place and lack of response when called customer serv. We waited for over 30 mins for shuttle bus to arrive at pick up point. I called 3 numbers provided on the voucher but no one answered. There is only 1 car which carries customers from rental location to the airport and back. Driver doesn't do empty rides.

Pros: Lady was very nice and helpful, when l said l had changed my mind of early hours drop off to late the day before.

Cons: But l found it very hard to find how to get back to the place, the way of speed on roads weather and darkness, l could not find it till it was closed, l managed to find the late drop off and put the keys in the box. In hindsight I should have had sat nav

Cons: It was tricky to find the shuttle pick up at Malaga airport - this was most confusing. Also, unlike better known international car rental agencies, Drivalia was on on industrial estate a 5 minute drive from the airport. In the end neither of these was an issue - the car and the service were very good

Cons: I had to spend time recording videos of the car condition as there where small scratches that were not mentioned in the rental contract. The company representatives were unavailable to update the contract with me, that is why I had to record a video.

Pros: A bit rude personnel (men), they take only credit cards, a bit demanding to get full insurance from them instead of Discovercars.com, saying that there may be problems with a deposit if car is scratched etc, but still all good 8 of 10

Cons: We hadden een babystoeltje bijgeboekt. Konden kiezen uit 3 stoeltjes waarvan 1 helemaal kapot was en het piepschuim zichtbaar was. Daarnaast waren alle stoeltjes niet schoon. Dit zou zichtbaar verbeterd kunnen worden.

Cons: Pick up was a huge issue, a sassy representative who was not much help. With there not being any indication on where to add flight times, this was the main issue. I had mistakenly entered the incorrect flight arrival time so we were late, but with it being stated a "shuttle bus" we thought there would be no issue in taking us to the rental. She was rude and not helping with any alternatives. Until an hour later she took us to the car rental.

Pros: Clean car, friendly staff!

Cons: Would have been great if they had a specific queue for us that already completed the pre-check in online, in that way we didn't have to wait so long!

Pros: The rental agent was very dismissive once we turned down buying the extra insurance through the agency. Obviously, the agency dislikes providing service when the vehicle is booked through booking.com. That gives me second thoughts about using a third part site. I am concerned about the $1000.00 deposit as to whether the agency will try to apply charges that are unsubstantiated. They verbally said no at drop off.

Pros: The agents were nice and helpful, including the shuttle driver.

Cons: They gave us a car with defective door locks (confirmed by the local Drivalia store in Málaga, Spain and documented on our receipt). This directly contributed us getting robbed. The thieves were able to steal two suitcases with more than EUR 6500 of personal property in them without breaking a window or otherwise breaking into the car. There was no way to pursue a claim while we were in Málaga and the company has not responded to our email where we requested to be reimbursed for our losses.

Pros: Agent offered me insurance for £158 for Seven days or deposit of £1200 on a credit card only. Also when I returned the car, fuel tank was half empty, so I asked the agent how much would it cost? She did offer me to go back and get it filled or it would be around 1.47 per litre as compared to1.45 from the station. As it was just a couple of pennies over, I said I can pay it to them but was shocked to see that she charged me £75 for a half tank of a small Ford focus car. Extortionate!

Cons: Had to wait for 25mins whilst they cleaned the car, on collection. Not ideal. Make sure you check the car over and make them aware of marks not on the agreement. We had a few. We photographed too, which was a blessing because they tried to tell us we had damaged it, dispite it being on the mark up agreement. They quickly agreed we hadn’t damaged upon us showing them pictures. But abit of a hassle.

Cons: We´ve rented 2 cars with Drivalia in Malaga. Both were crashed and they charged us extras for delivering the car too early. Also too strict regarding fuel - charging us almost 50 euros for 5 liters.

Pros: Fast check-in and check-out. They keep the cars in really secluded area and even using GPS it was not easy to find the place to return the car, but managed it asking locals around there.

Cons: The only thing which was very minor was that on the last day the tire pressure light came on.

Cons: When ze dropped the car back there wasn't enough staff there to deal with the number of people collecting or returning cars so it took a long time to be seen and dealt with.

Pros: Very very little. Basically Drivalia was awful. It was a s**t experience from start to finish.

Cons: BHait and switch which means if you don't have a VIsa/Mastercard credit card or someone that is not the named driver can provide this they charge +250 Euros. That is basically a scam to headline a low day rate but then sting you when you turn up. It took +45 minutes to get to the rental location. Poor transfer from the Airport. Utter waste of time in the blistering heat. I asked to extend the rental 24h before ending. They refused and threated to charge me 300 Euros if I was late.
