Thrifty at Malaga Airport

Cons: As the vehicle is not inspected on collection by agent & keys just passed over as they advise to take our own photos which is fine it would be really helpful if they could implement a lockbox key collection for ease of collecting when flights are delayed.

Cons: Reasonable car hire charge but be careful!! We checked for scratches but didn’t see the small mark on front bumper beforehand. Consequently charged €200 for repair on return.

Pros: Usually no issues with firefly - scored lower as disappointingly the car wasn’t ready on arrival in Malaga despite having been pre-booked quite a way in advance. Had to wait in the terminal for someone to bring the keys which is super unusual Great car, clean and good condition. Drop off was very easy, efficient and quick.

Cons: Double insurance was forced on me. I paid beforehand for full coverage insurance only to find out they do not accept this. After the rental they credited significant amount from my credit card without any information sent to me. The client service have not responded to my requests.

Cons: Rude staff and trying to get money from us because we were tourist and in the rush. Luckily we had all the pictures! They gave us the car saying that the car has nothing! But it had many small scratches. I will never use them again. I prefer to pay more and have a piece of mine.

Cons: Thrifty are hard to find as they are Hertz and not advertised very well. We needed to extend our rental for another 13 days but they wouldn't or couldn't. Car was due to be sold because of pre damage to body but wouldn't sell to me Only sign a new contract which was much more than booking through you.

Cons: They pushed me to premium by letting know - what you paid to discover cars is your problem we have our own rules. Take it or leave it. Deal with discover cars to get your money back... After long flight and at 19.30 I just had to take the offer that I would NEVER take on my choice

Cons: Staff pushed additional insurance although we had insurance and they implied that our insurance might not be comprehensive enough. This was blatant preying on tourists unsure of the rules. The staff member who took the car back, insisted on a petrol receipt from within a 10km radius, and I had not kept it. When I showed her a transaction on my mobile phone from 13 minutes ago for 44 euros, she was not satisfied. Again, firefly trying to rip off tourists. She wanted to charge us ten euros.

Cons: We made our reservation online. When we got there, they wanted 1100 EUR deposit for the car, but wouldn't take a credit card without a PIN, so they suggested we leave cash. They also asked for an International License, even though USA license are legally able to drive and rent cars in the EU (we have done so many times before). We ended up leaving and finding another rental car, without getting any refund. I would never recommend them.

Cons: I had difficulties finding the Thrifty desk, nobody picked up the phone eventhough I dialed 15 times so there was no chance to get any help, also the airport personnel didn't have sufficient knowledge to help so essentially I ran through the airport with a child in the middle of the night searching for Thrifhty desk to pick up the keys. Additionally I'm not going to use DiscoverCars service anymore if I could simply book the car directly with thrifty for lower price.

I had paid for full coverage with discover cars online, had all the paper work and yet she insisted this was nothing to do with firefly! After a lot of debate she reluctantly handed over the key!

Cons: The car was delivered in extremely dirty conditions. It also presented more scratches than the agents declared and when we told them, they said it didn't matter. Unlike, at the moment of drop off, they were extremely scrupulous at checking if new scratches were made. They were not considerate of our complaints and charged us the cost anyways.
