Cons: We were not aware that debit cards were not accepted, regardless the amount of money available, so after a long wait we could not get the car. No alternative solution was provided, we were literally left waiting, nobody cared. And the initial deposit is still not refunded, even after 10 days.

Cons: Had us waiting for 30 minutes to then tell us our booking was canceled. Called discovercars a couple of times to check, and they confirmed the booking was still active. Global rent a car was very disappointing- they only have you talking to a driver who will drive you to the pickup spot from the airport which is 7km away from the airport. He wouldn't drive us to the office so we could discuss with the colleagues.
Pros: Friendly & professional staff
Cons: 1) I was given a Fiat Grante Punto, a smaller car than the Ford Focus or similar I originally booked and the Rep was trying to convince me that it's a free upgrade because it was a diesel (the company different car categorisations that other car rental companies). 2) Super waiver insurance -excess reduced to zero- is outrageously expensive (€350 for 16 days, whereas the highest I have ever paid for the same period of time and same car category in other companies was not more than €180)!
Cons: It was absolutely abnormal that they gave car at 3.00 at night time to tourist with absolutely empty petrol tank....and in situation when in Athena in night time most of petrol stations are closed.
Pros: The best people
Cons: The van that we got did not have available radio (error message to call the dealer). The passager wipper was broken. When we came to drop the car at 7h45 am, we were told that a surcharge would be charged if dropped prior to 8 am so we waited. Then at 8h02, the driver told us to hurry because he was leaving for the airport and that we would get our receipt by mail.

A young driver fee of 24.80 EUR per day applies to drivers under the age of 25, with a maximum of 124.00 EUR per rental.
Maximum rental age is 74 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
The driver license must be written in Latin alphabet.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.

Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license. In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: MasterCard, Visa. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
The vehicle must be returned in an acceptably clean condition in order to avoid additional charges.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
