Essence Car Rental at Istanbul Airport

Pros: They are trying to find any problem with the car and the create problems that can be seen

Cons: The instructions to find the car rental desk were very unhelpful. We had to call a Turkish number (very expensive from a UK phone) who then just told us to turn left, why could they have not written that on the arrival instructions? When we finally found the car rental desk, their card machine wasn't working. We tried 3 different cards but none of them would work in the machine. We were then just told that our rental was cancelled without getting a refund for the deposit we paid. Awful, avoid.

Pros: I got charged 4000 turkish lira for small scratch and my car rent with fully protection insurance up to 3000 euro and still customer service not answered

Pros: Essence delegated to 5s who dont care about Discover or Essence. They provide whichever car they want. They manually typed different values for HGS toll prices. They are unethical in their dealings and have to be checked on every step.

Pros: Hi Its been almost 2 months and my deposit amount have not been refunded as they confirm to me that it will be done in 2 weeks. I have sent them several msgs everytime i get a fals commitment that it will be done in 2 days. I mean how difficult it is for them to refund my money. I have to settle the pymt with my bank. Kindly arrange to refund my 150 Euro asap. Thanks Shaheen Khan

Cons: but they not return my 1250Turkish lira as a deposit which they told when I return the car will return it. But they told me they will refund after 20 days which is nit good. I have already bad experience about this .... need feed back about 1250 lira as adeposit

Pros: The agent told me 2 different numbers for the tolls. He lowered the number when I told him I was paying by credit card. He did not give me a receipt for the tolls. When picking up the car the agent asked for extra insurance when he knew everything was paid for. Also, he said he would email the rental documents but I received it 8 days later only when I messaged asking for them.

Cons: Inside the car was not clean .we rented a car year before too from europcar but this model was completely basic, even no adjustment for seat place . I bought full insurance but when i want tonget the car ,they tried to sell insurance to me again ,so be careful. I dropped the car to the guy from office and everything was ok and he said no paper needs ,the day after that ,they send massage that the windshield is broken and i have to pay 4000 lira for that,just like that and i have to accept that

Cons: لم يعجبني وقت استلام السيارة استغرق ساعتان ونصف لمحاولتي افهام العاملين باني قد دفعت عربون عن طريق الانترنت قبل وصولي لكن اصرو بان ادفع كامل المبلغ مع ما دفعت بالسابق . ولم يحصل ذلك .

Pros: i received my car from different agent, a company called 5S

Cons: The agent 5S trying to take money from my credit card after i dropped the car, iam traying to contact them to ask the reason behind this, but no hope

Cons: The agent doesn't know English The insurance deposit amount was lager than what we have in the contract (currency exchange) The agent told me that he will charge me 100 turkish Lira because I returned the car unclean I was a tourist and the weather was rainy during my stay in Istanbul how can return the car washed and clean!

Pros: First of all he doesn’t know English, I was struggling to find the I was help less when I call him he started to ask my credit card driving license etc some one a local girl helped me talk him after 2 hours of I came out from airport he brought the car then he took us at his office which was about 10 kilometres he doesn’t know English no contract been given just he got my signs on his mobile phone. Before he handed over car repeatedly he asked tip in pounds or dollars.

Cons: Car was new but very basic no A/C and no gps built in and it was completely dirty car inside

Pros: I liked nothing. They wanted to force me to take not one,but two insurances even though insurance is not obligated. In the end I refused to take the car ,but they took my money anyway. They are bunch of thieves. Don't rent a car from them

Pros: Easy drop-off, done in two minutes directly at the terminal. Gentle people overall, no bad feelings despite the issues encountered. Maybe we were just unlucky, I wouldn't say to avoid them, the price was good.

Cons: I had booked a sedan (Aegea or similar) and they tried to give me a compact (Clio). After much insisting (and a call to DiscoverCars) they agreed on giving another car, which had an issue with left rear tyre losing pressure. Also they insisted A LOT on selling the extra insurance despite me repeating that I was already covered by DiscoverCars additional coverage (which I had already paid for). Remark: no documentation given, or receipt for the money paid. Not a great experience.
