Pros: The car was good low fuel consumption

Cons: Agents tried to get money from us . Charged us 15% more to tax , made us wait 30 mins to get the car , were rude

Cons: It is not not at tge airport. Had to wait for 30 mins and then someone came to pick me up and then waited again at AutoRent for tge car as it was getting cleaned. Wasted my time Was charged again MUR500 at drop off as cleaning fee which i do not think should be taken by the customer as it is a maintenance charge which the company should take care of.

Cons: When we got there, there was no one waiting for us. 20 minutes later someone turned up and then said we had to get in their car to go to the hire car place. This was not on any of the paperwork or instructions we received when booking. It felt dodgy, but was actually ok in the end. However the car was awful, and I wouldn’t recommend them.

Pros: The staff were friendly and reassuring, though in practice they were unable to fix car reliability issues during the rental. The reliability issues created anxiety as to whether we would be able to reach pre-booked hotels during our tour of Mauritius - or receive timely breakdown support.

Cons: We were supposed to be met and greeted by the agent at the airport. It didn’t happen and we had to phone and wait for a pickup to occur. I booked a car model that would be able to accommodate our baggage. It wasn’t available and we were allocated a car that wasn’t adequate. Another car was allocated to us, and although it was first registered one year previously, it’s alternator malfunctioned and a widescreen wiper broke and fell off in heavy rain. The drop-off point was difficult to find.

Cons: Quite rude guy on drop off when I mentioned the poor quality of car. He was mainly concerned with charging me for the bird poo on the vehicle.

Pros: On the positive side, they picked us up directly at the airport and took us back at the end of the rental — a very convenient service. The car was a hybrid, which was great considering most of the driving was done at around 60 km/h. The car was good.

Cons: The car was generally clean, except for the windows, which could have been better maintained. It already showed signs of previous wear, but all damages were clearly marked before I signed the contract, which I appreciated. I did feel a bit of pressure while taking photos of the vehicle at pickup. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given the Suzuki I had booked in advance. Instead, I received a Toyota, which was too low to attempt any gravel roads I had planned to drive on. It limited part of my itinerary.

Cons: Pick up in dark and rain in parking lot without good conditions for photography. During drop-off they tried find some (invisible) scratches and for every scratches wanted to see some pictures thet it wasn't in pick-up. Some guys abused my 15 years daughter.

Cons: Autorent ferries you to a different location to pick up your car unlike other companies where you collect and drop off at the airport. It's less than ten minutes away though. When we arrived, there was a problem in finding the agent who was supposed to meet us, and they made a big deal about the baggage we had which we felt was very rude. Would not use Autorent again based just on that.

Cons: - Pick-up process: we were initially told that they didn’t actually have a car for us, despite booking months in advance. Only after involving DiscoverCars and getting them in contact with an AutoRent manager we got a car for the day, which was afterwards exchanged for another one at our hotel - The pick-up location is outside of the airport. - Transfer from the airport to the pick-up location might be very slow: we met customers that waited for 2+ hours.

Cons: The gave me a different car as the one I booked wasn’t available, then five days in to the eleven day rental period woke me at 6:30 am by telephone to tell me that the car I had needed to be returned urgently as someone else had booked it out that night. And the car I had booked was now available. They wanted to know my location so they could exchange the car. I had all ready filled the fuel tank to last me the entire time. I have never had such poor service before.

Pros: Pick up was great. They were in 5 minutes at the airport, correct paperwork and within 5 min drive we were able to pick up the car. We did a check on damages, everything on paper and we hade to make a video.

Cons: Drop off was okay, it was a national holiday so the guy was alone i guess. We handed in our car, tank was just a bit under 1/2 ( as we got at pick up) So I gave a bit of gas money extra. I think it was 2 liter. But, because it was busy and he needed to bring a another client his pick up, he didn't had time to bring us to the airport and we were instructed to walk in the sun with our backpacks over the road for +- 10 min. Luckely, we could get a lift from a fellow traveler on the parking lot.

Pros: Easy to find them , friendly, affordable

Cons: The pick up and drop off isn't a good system. It takes a while - they take you in a separate car to the 'office' (which is just a patch of grass in the sun 5 mins from the aiport) and then you wait there for ages for them to collect your car from where you just came from at the airport! They also give you cars you haven't booked. At drop off.. they told us to drop off by 'a yellow car' in a section of the car park which had several yellow cars in - this was not a good experience!

Cons: My preferred car was not available anymore but still I got an equivalent of the same car.

Pros: Rotten attitude if lady that did the paperwork at airport (Navena). She was rude and arrogant, reprimanded my wife, stating that we had no booking. Delivery was at night, and I was told to examine the car the next day and make a video. Although I had opted for full insurance (which is a facade, because no documentation), I had to sign for Euro650 damage risk. The last straw, was that I also had to pay an exit fee at the airport parking.

Cons: Pathetic service. Paid for Toyota Aygo, received a Hyundi i10 with 140000km. Poor condition of car...on its last legs. Could not climb simple hills. They even sent an agent to collect the car early (4 days) , even though I paid for 10 days. I was at a conference and found the Autorent agent examining the car. Car had different coloured number plates back and front, different coloured mirrors, poor shocks and wipers.

The car was finally delivered (after many calls I made to chaise them) at 12:30, for which I lost money paid for an excursion not Reimbursed. Fully unprofessional: they even asked me if I could pay them on whisky from duty free….

The tyres were also a bit worn and had there been a collision (although it was fully insured) would have been reason for the assessors to repudiate the claim... but overall very happy with the rental

Pros: Once we had arrived to the office the representative was pretty clear and quick with explaining the service, walking us through the paperwork and providing us with the car. Although they could have been more open to asking if we had any questions as it also felt a little rushed.

Cons: Only notes provided to pick up the car was to meet the Rep near Gate 6. There wasn't a booth so we walked around trying to figure out who we should be meeting, until someone else helped us out. It was just a whiteboard with our names for all to see, and a number to call the rep. Did not communicate well and urged us to get into a random car with another car renter only saying we needed to go the office. Other rented was dropped into a car park. Just needed better commiunication.

Cons: My name was not on the list of people collecting cars. There was no one waiting for me. Once I found the people, we had to drive a long distance to get the car and I had to wait for it to be delivered and washed. Lastly it was not the car as advertised.

Cons: The absurd ‘cleaning’ charge. Also, I felt aggrieved that my wife and I were not offered a lift from the car return spot in Section D of the airport parking area to the terminal building. My wife is disabled so in semi darkness I had to push her wheelchair the wrong way down unlit roads with one hand while wheeling a suitcase behind me with the other, while our other suitcase plus cabin bag were piled onto her lap. As I went, I found myself wondering if that was what “meet and greet” meant.

They don't have responsiblities about time time keeping, refund for extra fuel, etc. They charged rental fee by Mauritius Rupe with thier own fixed currency rate making me pay a lot without any notice before. Their service attitude was totally unprofessional and unkind. They are obssessed with charging more money to Renter.

Pros: AutoRent is definitely a very good option for Mauritius. The people operating the business were really nice. Easy to sort everything out and they helped me get everything sorted even before my arrival. Overall my experience with them was great.

Cons: They have a policy that if the car is returned dirty you have to pay $10 for cleaning. Although they were amazing and didn’t charge me for this, is something to be aware before booking. Also note that while they will provide you an insured car, the deductible is €625 if anything wrong happens.

Cons: The car itself looked good and clean however when I sat my elbow out the open window I realised it was sticky and my elbow was black from what looked like years of not cleaning the car. Funny thing is that the representative told us it was a new car that he just got. Then when we returned the car, he charged us money to wash it when the car wasn’t dirty, saying that we should have washed but not advising us about it when we picked it up. This is why I am.

Cons: Incorrect car was delivered 45 minutes later then scheduled. The vehicle had no fuel, despite the policy saying full to full. No sat nav was provided. When we queried why we were not given a manual vehicle as booked, we were offered to either take the Micra they had arrived in. Or, drive the current automatic back to our hotel and have a new car delivered the next day which we accepted. They arrived 4 hrs late without an apology or paperwork for the new car. Unprofessional and unreliable- AVOID.
