CATH CAR RENTAL at Mauritius Airport

Pros: Will not be using them again

Pros: Excellent pickup Poonam was such a lovely person and made the whole process very easy. She spoke exceptionally good English so helped us with all questions we had and was extremely professional.

Cons: Nothing, it was exactly what we would have wanted from a car hire provider

Pros: The lady that met us at the airport was very helpful

Pros: Value for money excellent - nothing to say. The car was perfect with lots of space for 5 people !

Cons: Pick up and drop off not at the airport - which takes longer time.

Pros: Service was personal, very friendly, helpful, fair and trustworthy. The agent was very nice. Good value for money. No schemes to sell unnecessary insurance or other add-ons. All in all a great experience.

Pros: Communication beforehand by WhatsApp was very clear

Cons: They charged €10 for cleaning at the end. What is still not clear to me is whether this is charged to every customer or only if the car is returned unusually dirty (which is what we understood). If they want to charge it to everyone they can just add it at the beginning, much easier (though then not an incentive to keep the car clean)

Cons: the extra 10euro cost to clean the vehicle when the vehicle is dropped off was not mentioned when making the online booking and i have not experienced such a cost with any other car rental company.

Cons: We were expecting a car up to 4 years old given we paid for a higher specification car. The4 car we received was 7 years old with no blue tooth connection. we could not use air con as there was a foul smell of engine oil whenever we switch air con on specially being in a hot country. On the second day one of the tyre was flat . When I spoke to the owner stating all the problems, argued that i was given a higher spec car but he refused to acknowledge what I was expecting and the points I raised.

Cons: For starters there was no one there for the meet and greet. I then had to ask other companies how to get in touch with someone from the company which was difficult as I didn't have a working phone to contact them. I wasn't given the correct information and then was hit with an extensive hidden cost for the vehicle in which I did not have. I was then presented with a car that had so many scratches and damage on it, not even a full tank of fuel I'm wondering how it is even on their fleet for rent.

Cons: 1. Like to like fuel; would have preferred full to full. Collected the car on a Sunday with only 20% fuel in the tank. I did not know how far that would get me of if petrol stations would be open (the first one was closed). So a bit of range anxiety. 2. The 10 Euros charge for car wash at the end of the hire. This was not preciously advised by Discover Cars

Cons: Huge Deposit money withheld due to no insurance. Awaiting car rental to withdraw deposit amount. Additional 10 euro charge for cleaning the car not mentioned on website

Pros: Very kind woman who assist me in everything with the car rental.

Cons: I did full insurance of the car! When I drop off the car, the assistant "noticed" a coconut effect on the right side of the car (that means that a coconut has dropped from the tree over the car and made a small curve... I didn't see at all such an action). So, because of this I had to pay 30000 rupees no matter of my full insurance added! I have been told to write to the boss and my money will be transferred back. Two days I write an email and whatsapp messages to the boss, but no answer...

Cons: Not easy to find at airport. Added charges for cleaning after signing agreement. Charged in MURs rather than EURs

Cons: Menu of the car was in japan or china language (I was no able to chang it). Until now (4 days) I have blocked deposit even twice!!! No one from this company contact me with some information. It was no easy to find member of this company in the airport during picking up.

Pros: We enjoyed dealing with Poonah. We found her approach to be very professional and friendly

Pros: Fast, cheap, remember you get what you pay for. The car rental offices are usually a little away from for example an airport to keep the price low I suppose, but there’s always someone to pick you up for transfer.

Cons: Nothing, as I said, You get what you pay for, don’t expect more.

Pros: Our car rental agent, Poonam, was absolutely lovely. She met us at the airport and was very patient as we were slightly late due to delays but she didn’t mind at all. She was so helpful in answering all of our questions and gave us recommendations on things to do in Mauritius. She made the experience of using Cath Car Rentals very positive and enjoyable. She also recommended restaurants. Poonam was very nice and even gave us gifts when we left Mauritius!

Pros: friendly, easy handling, well instructed, straight forward process for pick and dropping the car.

Cons: the car key was defect and therefore RC didn't work. Was not possible to get a working key.

Pros: Poona, the agent at the airport, was really friendly and helpful. Later, when I got a flat tyre, the rep came out within an hour.

Cons: It took 24 hours to get spare wheel replaced. Had to pay for them to come out to change the tyre (although it wasn’t very expensive).

Pros: Booking the car and the fast and polite reply to any requests.

Cons: I think the drop off C2 zone at the Mauritius Airport was not a safe place at a busy time

Cons: Hidden costs, The cost was different to the original advert on the internet. Then there was an extra cleaning cost added on afterwards which was wanted in cash. The agent wanted to walk me to an ATM but I refused and would only do the transaction via credit card which I then had to wait for. No receipt was given and I haven't had the promised receipt by email. They said I could claim off insurance which I believe is a lie because of the excess. I don't trust them.

Pros: Easy collection, easy drop off. New car. Great experience.
