Pros: Car was just right for solo island driving, though I was unused to an automatic (had requested manual specially) and it took some time to get used to.
Cons: 1. Need to have much clearer advice in advance, to look for desk of Royal Cars (or other company) at Arrivals, NOT Discovercars. Took half an hour to suss that (despite speaking good French!) 2. NO airport signage detected for 'return hire cars' - again half an hour of driving in circles till saved by nice and very efficient man (who however had no official badge or identifying logo). Customers returning cars need clear advance guidance - but the MRU people need to provide signage.

Pros: Car was new; meet and greet person was indeed there where expected. That’s about it
Cons: No proper office at the airport; we had to walk up to the car location in the airport parking and make all the admin and payment in the sun with no shade, with still our winter clothes on... and that was pretty long. Same issue when returning the car and although I had called the office the day before to warn I would be a bit earlier, to make sure I could catch my plane, they showed up late. What does « opening hours » mean there, if you need to take an appointment and they are not on time.
Pros: Royal Car Rental are complete scammers, in particular Adil. When we dropped the car off it was inspected and was signed off as clean and no damage. We left Mauritius. When we get back to the UK we have a random email from Adil saying that there was damage and we needed to pay by money transfer. Needless to say we mail back asking for photos and stating that the car was signed off all good. Yes Adil still protested that the car had scratches and we needed to pay by money transfer
Cons: The are complete scammers never ever use them as they will try every trick in the book to scam you out of money - they had a deposit yet tried to get money transfers from us. Check the reviews on Facebook SCAMMERS.
Pros: Very friendly and understanding staff. We had an accident but they dealt with it in a professional and helpful way.

Cons: The car was filthy inside and out, touching the door handle or boot you were left with dirt on the hands. It was never explained where to meet the car rental staff. I had paid €15 for an out of hour drop off early in the morning, the staff was an hour late, what would have happened if my flight was due to take off?
Cons: Tom Tom was not working , waste of money paid every day 8 GBPounds.

Pros: the price of the rental car
Cons: leaving such a high deposit . when collecting the car the rental agent just ran off to help somebody behind us in the queue .the car was also dirty had done 137 000km not what we are used to in SA . However the car drove well air con did work and could just cope with the heat and 4 people being in the car .

Cons: Price to be paid upon booking on your website was agreed in euros or in USD. But when we picked up the car, we were requested to pay in MUR, with an exchange rate which was very different from the official one (loss of 10% for us). Same for the deposit, which fortunately I got back. It was twice the announced price, and with a difference of 10% due to the exchange rate. This is quite a breach of agreement/contract, according to me.
Pros: Easy service, friendly representatives
Cons: great service from Royal. The only thing that could have made it slightly better was more signage so I didn't have to call the rep. Also, I don't like the "your car will only be held for 120 mins and then cancelled if we aren't contacted".
Pros: We got picked up at the exit and accompanied to the car, the representative was really friendly and helpful. It was very smooth and quick. We had no problems at all.
Cons: Would have been nice to have instructions to call upon landing regardless of the hour.

Cons: They paid extremely close attention to every tiny nick or scrape on the car when I picked it up, making me very worried that if I missed something, I would be charged at the end of the rental. In the U.S., car rental companies generally do not care about nicks/scrapes that are smaller than a coin.

A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 71.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name.
It is possible to leave the deposit only with following methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
The following are accepted methods of payment:MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Cash.
Only cards issued in the main driver's name are accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
Underage additional drivers are also subject to a young driver fee.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
The first additional driver is allowed free of charge.
Certain additional drivers are subject to both an Additional Driver fee as well as either a Young Driver or Senior Driver fee.
Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request. Additional charges will be applied.
